The sun is already high on the sky when Noah finally awake. He rose from bed with difficulty, the hangover pains his head so much that he had to take some time to clear his mind. He rubs his eyes then when straight to the bathroom, taking a shit before cleansing his body whole. As he walk out of the bath, completely naked- what met his eyes is a figure of a woman sitting on his desk while rummaging through a pile of papers. He almost jump out of fright.
"Do you always walk around naked in your room when nobody's around?" The woman, completely ignoring Noah's confused look break the silence away.
"Wow, I don't remember bringing anyone home last night. In a matter of fact, I don't even remember someone as stunning as you around town." Noah took a step back, grabbing a towel quickly to cover his naked body.
"So, who are you? I know I'm quite famous around woman but there's no need for you to sneak inside my room just to sleep with me. You could've invited me for a drink at the bar or something."
Noah moved cautiously behind the stranger's back, taking a step closer towards his sword which were put neatly beside his closet. A complete stranger suddenly appearing inside his room unnoticed is something he never expected to happen. In fact, it has never happened before in his entire life. This is the first, it is wise for him to take a precaution in case something unexpected happen. After all, the news of Babylonia's fall yesterday is still fresh in his mind.
"I've just arrived in town a couple days ago. Job requirement. I thought it would be a boring one but never expected to meet a Gilliard in here. Especially, the last of Gilliard. How amusing."
The woman, with short silver hair- cut into a pixie and a dazzling blue eyes turns her head towards Noah. She wore a rather complicated design of black robe, and a weird shape of earring at her left ear. Staring into it made Noah's mind kind of hazy, within a second, he felt like he's not in his room anymore but in a weird surrounding of space filled with countless stars. And he's just staring at them, his body felt like floating while amazed by the sights of what he saw.
"Why is it like I'm really close with the stars right now, this- this look just like what I saw every night! Skies filled with million of stars. Wha-" Before he could think any further, he was interrupted by the woman's voice.
"You just witnesses the outer space, when people stare at my earrings. Their souls are sent to the outer space, which made them able to saw something bizarre as that. It also allows me to see right into their souls and read their mind, but you..."
The woman bit her lip before continuing, "I was able to see your soul and read your mind, but there's something strange about you. It's as if a portion of your soul is gone or dead. That shouldn't be possible."
"The outer-what? What kind of uh.. nonsense you're spouting right now?" Noah snaps back into reality, he's still standing in his room with only a towel covering half his body and a weirdo in front of him.
In this day and age, the word 'outer-space' is something completely unheard of by anyone. Only a few people would know the exact description of such things. Hearing the word for the first time, felt like a weird sense of foreign language completely unbeknownst to Noah. He completely forgot what he was about to do before, he felt like the woman sitting in front of him is someone extraordinary.
"There's no point for me to explain it you, it's too much of a hassle. Don't think too deep about it."
The woman, rose from the chair she was sitting and walk slowly towards Noah. Seeing the sudden approach surprise him so much he almost stumble, he then quickly grab the tilt of his sword and unsheathe it- pointing the tip of his black sword at the stranger's neck.
"Now, now. Stop moving, tell me who you are and why are you here."

Noah's tone is firm and calm, indicating it's not just a questions but also an order. He still don't know the strangers identity or purpose of approach but also the previous experience earlier made him high on alert. A stranger with an unknown ability is the most dangerous person in this world. Many cases of gruesome matters involving something like unknown ability and power has been heard of, it strikes fear towards people's heart and also has been paid as the highest level of danger in today civilization. Of course, the main reason is the descends of Primordial Beings over the past centuries.
"No need to be afraid, Gilliard. I work for The Association, but I understand your feelings. A stranger suddenly appearing in your room while also possessing unknown power is something to be cautious of. The name's Saturn, pleasure to meet you Noah the Gilliard."
She took a silver badge, shape like an eagle inside her robe and show it to him. Seeing the badge, Noah lowered his sword but still keeping a distance from her. He then took the badge from the woman, studying it's authenticity. After confirming the woman's identity, he sheaths his sword back inside it's scabbard.
The Association, is known throughout the world which were founded a hundreds of years ago. It consist of the highest ranking of people who manages and investigate any matter about Primordial Beings. The Association also has the top authorities between major cities, providing help in defending and supports towards civilization. The Association has a few order of rankings, which starts from the highest ranking known as The Saints, Board of Directors, Augustus's Lab, Cerberus, Members of Dawn and the lowest Public Mercenaries. They are considered as humanities most profound organisations since it's first establishment. The Associations also provide news regarding the attack and descends of Primordial which would help humanities to prepare and establishing a strong command of resisting the attacks.
"What brings a member of The Association to this rural town, and what kind of business do you have with me?" Noah give the badge back while staring at Saturn, waiting for an answer.
"Scouting, of course. We lost a lot of souls and members during the Sixth descends. It is my duty to recruit for more members for The Association, we need every last bit of man-power available. " She took the badge and put it inside her robe back, ignoring Noah's intense stare.
"And that brings you to me?" Noah raised his eyebrows.
"Of course, besides you're the last of Gilliard. The strongest races ever known in humanity. We really need someone like you." She gave him a strong answer. Which unexpectedly made Noah chuckles.
"And what make you think I would work for The Association? Why would I come working with the same people that abandon my cities to fall 14 years ago?!"
Noah raised his voice, completely lashing out his anger which he kept inside for years. His eyes become red, and tears starts to gather at his pupils. Heartbroken. That's what he felt, seeing his very own love one died right in front him. It's a sad and gruesome things to watch, with him being unable to do anything nor understanding why he alone survived the disaster. Saturn went silent, before moving closer to him. She look at him with pity, then wipe the tears that about to fall from his eyes.
"I understand your anger, Mr. Noah. But it's not our fault that your city falls, it is your very own people arrogance and ignorance that brings The Empire to burn. They refused us, The Association, to establish our own branch there. Claiming they didn't need help from weak races like us and saying our countless research of the Primordials are merely lies and failures."
SNAP!
Noah's head empty. He knew very well the truth, he knew why his own home falls and why his beloved one dies. But he couldn't, he couldn't handled the truth. He needed someone to blame, he needed someone to take responsibility, all for him to ease his heart, to vent his anger. He closed his eyes, for a moment and took a deep breath.
"But now, you could change that. Come to us, we'll not repeat the same mistakes as before. You can save your own people again, save the bloodline of the Gilliard."
Her smooth and sweet voice calmed Noah's heart down. He finally felt like a heavy burden were pulled away from him, the anger and sadness inside finally started to melt from a huge unbreakable iceberg. He opened his eyes again, not minding their faces are very closed and they both could hear each other breath. After a moment of silence, Saturn pulled away.
"You don't have to give your answer right now, I can wait a little. I'll find you at the bar after a few days, I have a place to go."
Noah kept steady at his place, not moving an inch while Saturn move towards the door. He heard the handles being pulled and the door squeak, Saturn's footsteps are loud and clear until suddenly it stop. He turned around and saw her looking at him with a smile. What came out of her mouth later was kind of unexpected.
"Your dick is a lot smaller than I think."
