On this sheet of paper it explains there is an event for both upcoming hunters, and regular students to meet a special guest hunter that will arrive to give a speech. Jayce is extremely confused after denying the copy, it vanishes and he gets a massive headache. Holding his head asks his sister "Uh why is your talent Martial artist, I thought it would be something different."
The look of shock on her face kind of says it all. "NEVER say anyone's talent, it could lead to a lot of bad company and how were you able to see my talent?"
"I saw it right there when I looked at you, I can't see anything else other than your name, my head is hurting badly, what is going on?" He sits on a chair by the dining table.
She stares at Ace, while she is drinking her coffee and goes for her phone putting her coffee down and calls a number. A few seconds go by and someone answers the call.
"Hello Mr. Thomas, this is Ariel Cato, this morning my younger brother Jayce has awakened as a hunter. "
“"...."
"Yes, that is exactly why I'm calling you, he needs to change classes and do a minor assessment. We will be on our way now, thank you."
She hangs up the phone, grabbing her coffee and looking at Ace. She takes a sip of her coffee and says “"What are you still doing there, start eating your breakfast and get your stuff, you already know a special guest is coming to the school, also don't go shouting people's talents and never reveal your own. I kind of understand yours since you can see them.”
Jayce nodding his head in agreement, eats his breakfast while still clutching onto his head. This headache is calming down but was it because my talent automatically activated, Jayce thought to himself.
“Sis, if you're a martial artist doesn't mean you know more than just kickboxing?”
“Yeah, but if I were to teach you that, or if you were to mimic my moves you'd probably accidentally kill someone. I only helped you with Kickboxing to defend yourself, Now finish up and let's go.”
Ariel and Jayce arrive at the school and both go to the event early to take their seats. As they arrive at where the event is taking place they see a stunning courtyard, a spacious expanse that seems to radiate beauty and order. The sun bathes the area in a warm, golden light, accentuating the pristine condition of the surroundings. The recently polished stone floors gleam invitingly, reflecting the bright skies above and creating a sense of vibrancy that fills the air.
Lush trees stand tall, their branches elegantly trimmed, all arranged with a geometric precision that enhances the courtyard’s symmetry. The scent of fresh blooms wafts through the air, adding a delightful sensory layer to the atmosphere.
They observe the dedicated staff setting up rows of chairs, each placed with precision. The sound of rustling fabric and soft laughter fills the space as workers exchange friendly banter. They see a man that makes you think of a looming thundercloud. He has silted brown eyes. His thick, straight, dark gray hair is worn in a style that reminds you of a pile of leaves. He has an over muscled build. His skin is white. He has prominent cheekbones and prominent ears. He is dressed business casual and he starts walking towards Ashley and Jayce while waving.

This time Jayce doesn't have a headache. As Maverick gets closer he gives them both a hug picking them up in the process. “I'm so glad to see you both here, you have grown so big both of you have it makes me very happy.”
“Glad to see you too Mr. Maverick, how long has it been since the last time we met?”
“Please don't use honorifics, we aren't working plus you guys are like family to me. The last time we met was after the accident that happened a few years back. I'm still sorry I wasn't able to do more to help my students also as you know your parents. Still hurts today.” A tear goes down his cheek but he wipes it away quickly and puts on a big smile.
Jayce blanks out and gets PTSD and flashbacks of the accident. He stands there blank faced and his hands are shaking a bit.
"It's ok, we know you were busy and we don't blame anyone since it was unexpected. I'm glad that at least my little brother was able to escape from that horror thanks to my parents."
“Mr. and Mrs. Cato were amazing parents, Jayce hopefully you remember seeing me right, when you were at the hospital. Did the therapy help at all, I truly hope it did since what you went through was quite traumatic to say the least. Jayce?”
As Maverick is looking at Jayce, he snaps back to reality, his hands still shaking and replies with “Yeah I remember, the therapy helped a lot with all the issues at the time I have improved extremely.”
Maverick, noticing his shaking hands, changes the subject. “I heard from Thomas that you have awakened this morning, very proud of you, now I must go, the event is about to start.”
As he walks off he waves, Ariel and Jayce both take their seats and they sit at the very back row. As all the other students and parents start to arrive and take their seats, some of them being hunters. Jayce is instantly flooded with the system asking him if he would like to copy their talents, due to the sheer amount of talents coming at him his brain and eyes gets overwhelmed and he passes out on to his sister bleeding from his right eye. Ariel, not being able to see Jayce’s face, thinks he simply went to sleep and doesn't notice the blood.
Time goes by and as the event is about to end Jayce slowly begins to wake up. While still half asleep the system message pops up and Jayce stares at it confusingly.

Jayce lifts his head up and his sister notices the dried blood near his right eye. Jayce cleans the dried blood near his eye, he looks around and his talent isn't activating. Jayce, not paying attention, doesn't notice that the event is about to end and Jayce snaps back to reality hearing cheers as it comes to a close.
Thomas walks behind Ariel and whispers in her ear, she nudges Jayce and stands up. As they both get up to leave, they follow Thomas to a small testing gym that is under the school, they arrive there with multiple other students who also start to arrive there as well.
Maverick walks in, smiling and laughing “HAHA so these are the newly awakened students. Now let’s get started, They’re are two ways of opening what we call the status window. One is by saying it, to get your body used to always activating the window when you want to and the other is doing it in your thoughts. The first approach is better for the recently awakened but if you want to try the second one go for it.”
“Now I would like each student to open their status window and explain to us what you see.” Thomas said.
One by one each student said the words and relayed to Thomas what was on it privately. As the five students all did it, it was Jayce’s turn now and he said “Status window.”
