Chapter 15: A Lords Battle
The further Akira and Ren ventured into the dungeon, the stronger they grew. Akira could feel the growth in his body, the increased stamina and power from each battle. His swords became extensions of his own being, and his Blazing Slash grew fiercer with every goblin he felled. Ren, too, had been leveling up quickly, his agility and precision with his twin daggers improving with each kill.
By the time they had cleared the last of the low-tier goblins, Ren was at Level 24, and Akira had reached Level 26. Akira had allocated his stat points into Strength and Mana, hoping to make his attacks even stronger and to refine his magical abilities. His katanas burned with increased intensity whenever he activated Blazing Slash, and the mana he wielded felt like it could tear the earth apart if he focused it correctly.
But now, the dungeon was quiet. The last goblins had been slain, and they had reached the heart of the dungeon. A heavy silence filled the air as Akira and Ren carefully stepped forward, scanning their surroundings.
Suddenly, the ground shook.
Akira’s grin grew wide.
“There it is,” he said, voice low with excitement.
From the shadows, a massive figure emerged. The Goblin Lord, an enormous beast covered in jagged armor, wielding a massive bone club. It let out a guttural roar as it stomped forward, its blood-red eyes locking onto Akira and Ren.
Ren froze, terror flooding his senses. His breath hitched, and for a brief moment, he couldn’t move. The Goblin Lord was a monster, easily towering over both of them, its aura radiating raw power.
Akira, on the other hand, stood tall, his eyes glinting with excitement. “This is it, Ren. The real test.”
Ren swallowed, his heart pounding in his chest. “This thing’s way stronger than anything we’ve fought before. We can’t win this… can we?”
Akira glanced at him, a cocky grin stretching across his face. “We don’t have a choice. We’re doing this.”

And with that, he charged.

The battle was nothing like anything Akira had ever experienced. The Goblin Lord swung its massive club with terrifying force, sending shockwaves through the ground with each impact. Akira barely dodged the first swing, the earth cracking beneath him as he leaped out of the way.
Ren, despite his fear, was quick on his feet, darting around the Goblin Lord, stabbing with his twin daggers at every opening. But the Goblin Lord’s armor was thick, and its strikes were brutal.
Akira quickly realized that his fire-based attacks weren’t going to be as effective as he hoped. The goblin’s armor was resistant to his flames, and each time he struck, it only seemed to damage the outer layers. But Akira refused to back down. He poured more mana into Blazing Slash, igniting his sword with an even fiercer blaze, and slashed at the goblin’s thick hide.
The fight was a grueling battle of stamina. Akira’s swords clashed against the Goblin Lord’s massive weapon, sparks flying with each strike. Ren, swift as a shadow, used his daggers to target weak points in the creature’s armor, but it was a constant game of evasion and strike.
The Goblin Lord roared in fury, its giant club swinging in wide arcs, forcing Akira and Ren to split up to avoid being crushed. Akira’s strength had grown considerably, but even with his level advantage, the monster’s overwhelming power was a constant threat.
Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, Akira saw his opening. The Goblin Lord was winded, its breathing labored from the continuous assault. Ren, ever quick on his feet, managed to land a deep cut into the beast’s side, and the goblin roared in pain, stumbling forward.
“Now!” Akira shouted.
He activated Blazing Slash one final time, pouring every last drop of mana into his sword. The blade ignited in a column of fire, and with a powerful slash, Akira sent the sword through the Goblin Lord’s exposed neck.
The beast let out one final, earth-shaking roar before it collapsed, its massive body hitting the ground with a sickening thud. The dungeon shook around them as the boss finally fell, leaving only the scent of scorched flesh and the heavy silence that followed the battle.

Akira fell to his knees, panting heavily, his body sore from the brutal battle. Despite the exhaustion, he couldn’t help but laugh. The thrill of victory coursed through him, a rush like nothing he had ever felt.
Ren staggered to a nearby wall, his body covered in sweat and bruises. He wiped the blood from his mouth and looked at Akira with awe. “You were right… we actually did it.”
Akira grinned widely, his breath coming in ragged gasps. “That was one hell of a fight.”
As the two caught their breath, the system chimed again, this time with the rewards for their victory.

Loot Dropped:
2 Goblin Crystals
1 Goblin Axe (Epic Quality)
3 Goblin Tunics
---
Akira stood and grabbed the Goblin Axe, marveling at its weight. It was a huge weapon, nearly twice the size of any normal axe, with a blood-red crystal embedded in the blade. It hummed with a faint magical energy.
Ren grabbed the Goblin Crystals, inspecting them carefully. “These are valuable,” he said. “Could be used to upgrade weapons or sell for a good price.”
As they gathered their loot and prepared to leave the dungeon, Akira couldn’t help but think about what lay ahead. The Goblin Lord was just the beginning. They were getting stronger, but there were far greater threats out there in Noble Eternity.
But one thing was certain—Akira was ready for whatever came next.
