As Jordan entered my core room I felt… something. I can’t place it very well, it’s like a sensation I couldn’t feel before, no an emotion, pride. I was proud that Jordan managed to make it to my core, I wasn’t worried about what he would do. I was just, happy? I was glad? Yeah I was glad he conquered the dungeon. He deserves some sort of reward. I turn to my menu to see if I can create anything for him.
‘Items will be created automatically for adventurers. Under special circumstances the dungeon may override and control what the adventurer receives. Unfortunately the dungeon is too small to access that function.’
“Uh, dungeon sir?” Jordan asked.
Looking back I saw Jordan looking at- looking at me. Not my core but at me. I didn’t think anyone could see me.
“I only saw you for a moment” Jordan said, “I don’t know how to refer to you besides dungeon but I saw you.” He sounded almost awed.
Uh, so, what did I look like? I haven’t been able to see myself, not really any mirrors down here. I’m not even sure if they would work honestly.
“I saw a man made of some sort of white energy.” He explained. He couldn’t see me anymore but he stared at the space he saw me last. “You were tall, with long hair in a ponytail, and I can only guess that you were wearing a suit of some sort. As I said I only saw you for a moment and you weren’t exactly very detailed so that’s all I have for you, sorry.” He finished sounding apologetic.
No that’s enough for now, thank you for giving me even the briefest of ideas as to how I look.
He simply nodded at me as I saw a white menu similar to the one I have appear but in front of Jordan. Moving beside him I read what it says. ‘Congratulations Jordan Bevans for being the first person to conquer the first level of this dungeon. You are the first person to complete the dungeon solo, you are the first person to complete a trial. You are the first person to reach the core room. You will receive twice the rewards due to your first adventurer title.’
Jordan hit the accept button. I didn’t get to see how much experience he got from it but I did see a sword appear in a sheath on his hip.

‘Congratulations on gaining your first level, you may allocate your status points as you wish. You may purchase any skill from the available skill trees with your skill points. The weapon you obtained is the first weapon created by any dungeon on Thai planet, as such it has the ability to adapt to its user and will grow as you gain experience. You may now ask for one thing from the dungeon core as the reward for reaching the core room.’
That’s quite a lot of things, and cool sword. I have to admit I’m a little jealous, oh and take these before I forget.
Moving the dog tags with pure mana, I manage to pull them about a foot closer to hit before the mana simply dissolved. It was a bit of an experiment so I can’t be upset, it was still a minor success.
“My dog tags,” Jordan said more to himself than me, “so what kind of things can I ask for?”
Before I can give any sort of response he looks to his left, best I can assume is a menu I can’t see? I wonder what color it is. He seemed interested in something it said and turned to me.
“So I have a question for you,” he said excitedly, “is there anyway I could ask to delay my rewards and get two things?”
Pretty greedy aren’t you? Well I can’t complain too much I suppose. You did beat all of my monsters bare handed after all. It depends on what you want from me.
“So it says I can use skill points with permission from a dungeon to get a skill based off the dungeon.” He explained pointing toward the unseen menu.
And the other thing?
“It also says that I can ask for permission to bring a civilian in to grant them the status of adventurer in leu of the reward.” He looked down and rubbed the back of his neck. “I know it’s asking for a lot but the next time I come I’ll have to carry someone to the core again so really it’s like asking for my next reward in advance.” He looked at me a little less ashamed.
Looking at my menu it explained about the reward system for reaching the core room.
‘Adventurers who reach the core room can request a large number of things that are in the dungeons capacity to do, if the adventurer makes it to the core room a second time they will not be given a second reward. They may get another reward if a new level is added and the adventurer reaches the end of the latest floor instead.’
The end of the latest floor? Not the core room?
‘Yes, as you expand it is suggested to stagger your core room out. Meaning that when you make it to level three you should keep your core on level three until you make floor six, as more dangers to both adventurers and the dungeon itself will emerge every five floors.’
Wait, wait, what? You can’t just dump that kind of info on me right now. Ugh okay I guess I can do your requests for you, but be warned, the next time you come here I will have a second floor, you will need to reach the end of that floor to get your rewards. It will be similar for anyone else who enters.
After I give him a brief summary of what my menu told me he accepted it gladly and began to walk toward the entrance.
Hold on Jordan, who were you intending to bring to make an adventurer?
He turned his head back toward my core, “A Person I promised to protect. She’s my friends daughter. I lost him during the last war.”
Well I can respect that kind of thing, I hope to see you both back soon Jordan.
“You as well.” He stopped his walking again, “you need a name, how about we go with military alphabet?”
What would my name be if we did that?
He was mere feet from the exit to my dungeon when he smiled “Alpha.”
