Vanessa finished consuming the enchanted sword with [Active Mimicry]. It was spicy.
She felt incredibly full by the time she had finished, but she was sure it would be worth it. While she waited for its enchantments and material to be assimilated, she perused the rest of the treasury, searching for the next-weakest artifact.
Of course, she already knew it to be a crystal spear laid idly in one corner, but it always paid to be certain. Especially with the permanent debuff she had selected from The System. With such low [Focus], she found it difficult to commit to the time-sink that was [Active Mimicry].
Two days had been spent locked within the massive vault, and in that time, not a single person had entered. Also during that time, she had eaten a small innocuous dagger that acted as her base form, a pair of arrows, and the sword she had just finished.
[Gleaming Blade of Solis] has been successfully absorbed.
The attribute [Keen Edge] has grown to level 6.
The attribute [Durable] has grown to level 4.
You have gained [Fiery Touch] as a general [Skill] and it has grown to level 2.
Not bad at all. A new attribute, even.
Additionally, Vanessa sensed the extra metal at her core, waiting to be used. She ignored that. For now, it would be better to remain as a dagger. Ornate as it was, glittering silver and studded with numerous gemstones, it was still one of the least noticeable artifacts in the vault.
If anyone did come into the vault and noticed the missing weapons, Vanessa hoped to be able to either escape entirely or hide in the piles of theoretically-legendary weapons.

Really, she had been quite lucky to be reincarnated where she was.
A set of thin, needle-like legs poked out from the sides of her bladed form, dragging her along the ground to her next target once she had ensured that it was the lowest-level item remaining.
There were, of course, reasons for her approach. The biggest one was the fact that she had already tried to eat one of the more powerful objects.
A ring lay on the floor in one of the corners. It was buried beneath a set of enchanted cloaks in an attempt to hide it and the fact that there was very clearly a small bite taken out of it.
Just that one bite had filled her to bursting. Despite the fact that she was starving for almost a full day after, the energy concentration remaining within her core put her off of even trying to consume another object. She feared she might really die if she pushed herself to add anything else to the digestion process.
From that one bite, however, Vanessa had gained four levels in [Mana Sense] which allowed her to gauge the amount of energy present in each of the vault’s items.
In addition to this, Vanessa thought it inadvisable to focus on the more powerful items quite yet because this was a vault. If anyone came in looking for anything in specific— which was most likely to be those powerful weapons— then they would quickly find them missing.
And so, Vanessa had resolved to consume them in order of the weakest to the strongest. She hoped to be able to have done so to half the vault before she was forced to escape, but that would happen whenever someone deemed to open the door. So far, all attempts at breaking free had been rebuffed by even more potent enchantments and magics.
If, for some reason, Vanessa was left here too long, she would do her best to empty the vault, and if left for even longer, she wished to eat the vault itself. She felt certain that its thickly layered durability enchantments would serve her well.
For now, Vanessa tried not to bump into any of the walls. She couldn’t be sure if there were any enchantments that would alert any prospective vault owner. Sure, nobody had shown up when she had outright stabbed the wall, but again; it always paid to be certain.
Until somebody did show up… well, Vanessa had quite a few priceless treasures left to eat.
She wondered what the other reincarnators were doing.
The System had called her the first, which implied there would be more.
