CHAPTER 21
ELITIST TAKES NOTICE
Deep in the dark allies of Amsterdam, inside a dark abandoned building, three members gathered for a meeting. Each dressed in the same white drapes with hoods, only the variations in concealment separating their appearances. One wore an expressionless iron mask, the other a hostile red mask that resembled a foul goblin, and the third, a wooden mask that expressed a mischievous grin. The warrior with the iron concealment removed his disguise, revealing his face, and blue ponytail, while the goblin mask appeared to melt off the other man, revealing a toned complexion and curly hair.
“Jake, it’ nice finally seeing that real face of yours,” the wooden masked man mocked. He removed his hood and pulled the disguise atop his jet black hair while narrowing both dark eyes.
Jake laughed. “It is a rear sight, but I didn’t know you were so eager to see it, Tint.”
The three men each pulled out chairs that rested underneath a spiral shaped table and took a seat.
“Fellows of Elitist,” said the blue haired member. “Our leader is busy constructing plans for the future and has ordered that I relay this message. So I’m here to inform you of three important changes in our missions. We all know that the time for winning over the dreamstorm is closing, and that our leader has found a miraculous way for us followers to survive even with their being one master of the storm. But, we must also not forget that we must wipe the slate clean of every other warrior for our plan’s success.”
“Come on Casey, there can’t be that many fighters at this point,” Jake blurted out.
“Counting ourselves, the stats show that there are currently ten fighters alive that must be eliminated,” Casey continued.
“Don’t you mean eleven,” Tint stated.
Casey clutched the iron mask tightly inside his palm, while grinning wildly. “That’s the second thing I’ll certainly inform you about.”
He held up his free hand and snapped his fingers. The door in the corner of the room swung open, and a brown haired, freckled faced young warrior entered the vicinity.
“This talented youth’s name is John Patrick,” Casey announced. “The newest member of Elitist.”
Tint speculated. “Then he’s the mysterious fighter who destroyed Asako Yata.”

“Your answer is correct,” Patrick said in a low tone.
Jake snickered lightly. “Well, you’re quite the talented lad then, considering that you haven’t been in the dream- storm for a month yet— I’m eager to know— what’s your ability?”
“Lets just say I’m good under pressure,” John retorted.
“Indeed, an impressive skill,” muttered Tint.
“Yes, why don’t you have a seat,” suggested Casey.
Nodding his head, John grabbed the chair, then sat down in Asako’s former position while everyone smirked, majority-wise feeling like a supreme team of elites once again.
“Now, let's move on with our third discussion,” said Casey. “Surprisingly enough, it’s about Hikaru Chan and his partner.”
“You mean that smart-mouthed boy we saw in the forest,” said Jake, almost sounding surprised.
Tint rolled his eyes in boredom.
“What’s wrong Tint?” Casey reacted.
“Nothing… just never thought I’d hear that urchin’s name again,” he explained in disinterest.
“Well you thought wrong, because Hikaru’s definitely still alive and well… at least for now,” Casey added. “But the surprising thing is that our leader has confirmed that he and his friend have dismantled Nanu and Wah.”
“Intriguing,” Jake uttered. “I wonder how the little rat managed successfully achieving that victory.”
“It doesn’t matter,” replied Casey.“They’re not a threat. The problem is our leader’s been unable to detect the boy for some time now— and while Hikaru isn’t a great fighter, the little git can’t be alive for our plan’s completion.”
“But how is it that teenagers defeated such talented opponents?” Tint posed, now appearing much more attentive about the conversation.
Casey paused while thinking... “I’m almost certain that Wah betrayed her partner for Hikaru, because her whereabouts have become unknown as well.”
“Yes,” Tint agreed. “Something about Hikaru’s ability must allow him stable cloaking— and Wah, she must have teamed up with him in order to hide.”
“Regardless, how will we track them down?” asked Jake.
John cleared his throat. “I believe tracking is one of my specialties.”
“Righto— that’s why I’ve put you and Jake on the mission of seek and destroy, while Tint and I dismantle every other fighter remaining,” Casey informed. He raised up from his seat, followed by Jake, John, and Tint as each eyed the other. “For world domination,” Casey announced.
“For world domination,” the three repeated simultaneously.
John and Jake placed their white hoods overhead and paced through the door.
Walking around the table, Tint confronted Casey. “Mind if I pose a question,” he said in a poised manner.
“What is it?”
“Why didn’t you send yourself on that mission,” said Tint. “I can tell by the way you spoke in the forest that you wanted to destroy the boy.”
Casey sneered. “It’s just… he seemed so arrogant when I first met him— and yes— in a way I did desire destroying him and showing off my superiority.”
“So we should take the mission,” Tint urged.
“No,” Casey said sternly. “Such low level power would fail and become unentertaining— and I hate disappointments…Unless.” He paused for a split second. “Hikaru defeats Jake and John.”
“Well you know that’ll never happen,” Tint voiced undoubtably. “So if you truly want a tally mark from that runt for yourself, I’d suggest you bring Jake and John back now.”
Casey placed the iron mask over his face, then raised his hood overhead, completely turning his back on Tint. “It’s as I told you already,” he uttered calmly. “Hikaru’s not worth my time.” He opened a passage, and eyed Tint, who placed on his mask also. “Now let's get this over with.”
They both headed inside, and the portal closed behind them, leaving the dark room void of sound.
