Chapter Two

That night I dreamed again, what about I couldn’t really remember clearly.

The voice I heard before brought me out of my dream. I opened my eyes once again face to face with deep blue eyes. I started forward bumping my forehead on her forehead. “Oh shit! That hurts!” “Ohhh!” “Alyssa! You gotta stop doing that k.” She looks back down at me with hurt eyes. I look away. “What I mean is that um um bumping my head with yours.” I laugh and look up at her. I watched as her frown turned into a very warm smile. I think for the very first time in my life; that she has a pretty smile. I froze after I think this not understanding why I would even think this I mean its Alyssa for crying out loud! I’ve known her almost all my life; she is like a sister to me…right? I shake it off; “Hey Alyssa you can get off me now.” Suppressing a chuckle she sticks out her tongue and starts to get off me. “You know you like getting woken up by a beautiful woman; especially when she is on top of you!” She looks towards me and winks, then laughs. I look at her and start to think she is making fun of me. “What a beautiful girl…Where??” She sticks out her tong again at me and bounds towards the door. “Hurry up slow poke!” She shuts the door and day two begins.

I started down the stairs and hear my mom talking to Alyssa and Dan. I grin at the thought that almost everyone I care about is in one room. I went into the kitchen. “Ahh sleepy head decided to grace us with his presence.” I roll my eyes to Dan and grab a piece of bacon on the table. Everyone was sitting down in the kitchen with one chair still open next to Dan and Alyssa; I sit down. “Well Michael glad you can join us, I was happy to see Alyssa come over and wake you up. I thought maybe I would have to.” My mother smiles at me. I smile back; “well you know me I will sleep as long as possible.” My mother was about five six with blond hair with a shade of gray coming in. Still a looker at her age, Dan always teases me about it. Only thirty two she is very active before going to work she runs every day. My father runs with her too before going to work. My father is five nine and he is in great shape a lot of girls tell me that he is very handsome. Only thing is he was bald; which I of course make fun of every chance I get! Now I know what you’re thinking, how is it that a chubby guy like me has very good looking family? Well to tell the truth I don’t know, even my extended family is good looking. I’m the ugly duckling I guess you can say. “Hey earth to Michael!” “Huh?” Startled I look towards Dan. “Ah you are still on earth then that’s good.” He smiles and goes back to eating breakfast. “Sweetie don’t forget after school to stop at the grocery store and pick up some meat.” “I know, I know mom. I won’t forget.” We walk out the door and walk out the wooden fence door. I turn around and latch the wooden door. I look at the White two story house. Where I lived all my life, a large wooden picket fence separated our home with the neighbors. My mother’s vegetable garden is in the right corner of the lawn with tomatoes and asparagus. My mother’s flower garden was in the back yard; roses, tulips, all types of them. Alyssa grabs my arm and then pulls me to Dan who was a few steps ahead of us and grabs his arm with her other hand. We all laugh and walk hand in hand.

We showed up at our homeroom, our seat assignments on the board. I was put fourth row next to the window. The view of that the window showed me the track and football field. Outside I can see students in their P.E. uniforms sitting around the teacher. “Hey its Michael right?” “Huh?” I turn around and see a girl, five, five brown straight long hair, and dark brown eyes. I blush as my eyes automatically look down at her chest which I was pleased to see was bigger than expected. She was beautiful. “Your name is Michael right.” I blushed again stuttering “Umm yeah…um hi.” She smiles “Hi I’m Jessica.” As she sits down in front of me, she turns herself around to face me. “H…Hi.” “Looks like we will be neighbors.” She winks and smiles at me. I smile back still blushing. I just couldn’t help myself she was so cute. I was thinking this might just be a good year for me. “Hi Michael!”Startled I turned around to see that Alyssa sitting down right next to me. “Oh hi Alyssa so your right next to me huh awesome.” “Yeah poor Dan he stuck in the front row right in the middle.” “Hahaha that’s funny! Hey Dan how’s the front going for you!” “Up yours Michael just you wait!” “I will wait Dan.”

Alyssa laughs at what Michael and Dan say to each other, but notices the girl in front of Michael laughing as well. I study her noticing that she is very pretty. I look back towards Michael and gasp as I see him looking at her. He seems to be staring at her. I start to flush; I wish he would look at me like that. I freeze and think about what I just was thinking. I shake my head and shrug. Dan and Michael banter a few more minutes till the bell rang. Our teacher walks into the room. I look at the schedule and look at all the teachers we will be having. Our high school is different than most high schools; instead of the students going to classroom to classroom we actual have the teachers coming to us each period. That is only the freshman do after your freshman year we start going to the teachers. They teach in our class or take come pick us up and take us where ever they need us to be. Order at the school is very important and this way is total order.

Lunch doesn't come soon enough for us. Dan sighs as he waits in the front of the classroom for Michael and Alyssa so they can go to lunch together. I wasn't paying any attention when someone bumped into me. "Huh?" "Oh sorry about that!" A feminine voice I don't recognize says. I turn around and short red head looks up at me and smiles. I smile back and watch as she turns red like her hair. I chuckle at that. She frowns up at me "What is wrong, what's so funny? Huh?" I realize she heard me. "Uh n-nothing, just thinking of something. My name is Dan, what's yours?" She squints her eyes suspiciously at me. "Nice to meet ya Dan." Then she walks past me. I was shocked, never was I treated like that. I lift my arm up and sniff, nope I don't stink and I know I'm not ugly. I scowl and was about to follow her and ask what the hell that was and demand her to tell me who she was but then I was grabbed from behind and very familiar voice trying to sound deeper says "Where do you think you're going?" I elbow him "Well Michael definitely not with you. I look past him and see Alyssa. "Ahh just the gal I wanna see?" I elbow past Michael with a large grin and put my arm around Alyssa. She rolls her eyes at us. "What you leave me for Alyssa! My heart is broken!" Michael fakes fainting drawing laughter from me and Alyssa but everyone around scowls with disdain.

After lunch our class had PE. Michael looks at the men's locker room and wrinkles his nose from the smell. Dan is talking to other kids from class; I take off my uniform and put on the shorts and shirt. I then follow hallway that lead to a set of double doors which leads to outside. I open the doors and squint against the light of the sun; it's a beautiful warm September day. I smile up at the sun. I hear Dan coming out of the hallway. "Hurry up slow poke!" I walk out towards our PE teacher. Mr. Sanchez is a very fit kinda guy. Coach to the football team and hockey team he loves exercising. So I wasn't surprised when he frowned when he saw me. I am kinda chubby so I bet he thinks I'm lazy. I sigh and sit down along the track. Dan shows up a couple minutes later. Then the girls start to show up and us guys already out here all turn and watch. "I love this class!" I turn my head trying to figure out who said that but then I see something that makes my heart race. Alyssa and Jessica walk through the door together and I gasp as I see their tight shirts and short shorts. I hear whispers all around me it sounds like everyone else noticed as well. A big part of me starts to get jealous. Dan nudges me, "Those two sure do know how to make an entrance." I turn towards him and nod; "That's for sure!" I turn my head back towards Alyssa and she notices me. She turns towards Jessica and whispers to her then turns back towards me and smiles; "Michael!!" She grabs Jessica's hand and jogs towards me. "You met Jessica right?" She asks as she sits down next to me and Dan, Jessica sits as well. "Y-yeah we have met already." My face grows hot as I look at Jessica. Come on Michael stop staring look somewhere else damn it. I turn my head towards the front and wait for the teacher. I found myself agreeing with the mysterious comment earlier...I think this is my favorite class to. Then I look down and see my chubbiness and frown; maybe not so much if only I was skinny.

After PE we went back into our classroom. The rest of the day went by pretty fast. The final bell rings and I blink at the sound of it. "Finally done for the day!" I hear Jessica say. "Yeah now time to go home" Alyssa replies back. Jessica turns towards me and asks "Hey wanna walk home together?" "You walk home too?" "Yeah I saw you Alyssa and Dan walking today." I blushed and looked towards Alyssa to see what she thought about this. She shrugs "Yeah join us, it would be nice to have another girl in the group." Dan walks over to us "well we have a new walking recruit huh." I roll my eyes at him and Jessica laughs "yep! I will try to walk my best!" as she does a sharp salute. I burst out laughing at this and everyone joins in.

In front of the school we start walking towards the road that leads to home and I notice Dan looking around and being distracted. "You were looking for your girlfriend or something Dan?" He turns towards me and sticks out his tongue, "No just looking for a girl who has no manners." I frown then smile "Ah so a girl that didn't go bananas over you huh." He frowns at me "not every girl likes me." "True but most do." He shrugs "yeah guess your right" as he shoves me playfully around. The girls look at each other and roll their eyes. When we drew near my house which was the closest of our houses to the school. I suddenly remember that my mom asked me to pick up some things at the store. "Oh shit!" everyone turns their heads towards me. "I forgot I have to go to the store to pick things up for my mom!" Dan laughs "Ha you forgot all about it didn't you." "Hey you coulda reminded me or something!" "It wasn't my job to remember." I stuck out my tong at him. "I will see you guys later I gotta get the groceries." I turn around and head back towards town. "See ya!"

I got to the store and picked up the items that I had to get; while I was waiting in line I decided to go find something to munch on, on the way back home. So I turn around and ran right into a girl. "Oh sorry about that!" "Owe! That hurts look where you're going next ti..." She stops talking when she sees my face. " Michael?" "Y-yeah Mandy is that you?" "Oh my god! Long time no see! How long has it been? Years right!" I smile and give her a big hug. "It's been three; I thought you moved away to Arizona?" "I did but I asked my mom if I could move back here for high school! She said yes after me begging her and got me a house to rent close to your house. "You know that big house with the for rent sign in front. A couple blocks from your house." "Oh really! I haven't seen you at all at school. I know I would have recognized you. Not too much has changed!" I look at her dirty blond hair cut short but showed off her face, with hazel eyes that change color with what she wears. The freckles on her face really showed when she smiled. She looks like she is still in track. "You look good Mandy!" I blush while saying it. She laughs "you're not so bad yourself ya know!" I roll my eyes; "yep my chubby rolls thank ya!" She swats my head "Don't say such nonsense to me remember I don't like it!" "Sorry, sorry." "Anyway I just got here today and as you can see" as she points towards her cart "I'm getting groceries." I got back into line forgetting all about my snack and we walked out of the store together. I walked her home catching up on all that we missed. I told her about Dan, Alyssa and how they are doing. She was very happy to hear they were doing so well. "Hey meet me at my house tomorrow for school we will have a little reunion!" "Alright that will be cool!" I waved goodbye and turned around and walked home. What an interesting day today was.
