Dream Arts Academy

Dream Arts Academy

The flight from Philly was a quiet one, filled with anticipation and the soft hum of the engine. The plane soared through the clouds as Reign thought about her future in Bailey. Hours passed, and the captain’s voice finally crackled through the speakers, announcing their descent into Bailey. Reign peered out the window, her eyes catching the first glimpse of the city that was to be the crucible of her aspirations.

The plane finally touched down at Bailey Airport, and Reign stepped onto the tarmac, inhaling the city’s energy. The airport was abuzz with activity but she navigated through the bustling airport without much difficulty, her steps quickening with excitement. Outside, the city of Bailey greeted her with its unique blend of charm and energy. She found the taxi stand, where a line of cabs waited like silent sentinels. She chose one and settled into the back seat, giving the driver, a jolly old man with white hair, the address to the Dream Arts Academy.

The taxi navigated through the veins of the city, and Reign observed the life around her—the skyscrapers, the architectural buildings, the shopping malls, the street vendors, the laughing children, the murals, the fashion houses, the huge digital billboards, street food stalls, high end restaurants, music agency buildings. It was a city alive with art in every corner. As the taxi merged into traffic, Reign’s eyes widened. Fashionistas strutted on the sidewalks, at least that was what she thought because of their daring, expensive and avant-garde outfits. It made her wonder if everyone in that city was rich. “ First time in Bailey I see” said the driver with a smile. That snapped Reign out of her bewilderment. “ Yes sir, the city is amazing”, Reign said genuinely. “ Yeah, doesn't mean that there are no bad things that happen here but I agree, it's a lovely city ” replied the driver. “ Well, all cities have their fair share of good and bad” Reign said. “ You're right, you're one smart girl ” . Reign laughed, “ thank you, sir” . “So you're a student at Dream Arts Academy?” “ Yes sir ” “That's nice ” “Thank you sir ” and with that their conversation ended and Reign continued to admire the city. Soon after, Reign began to see the college and she felt a rush of excitement. They arrived at the academy and the driver pulled up outside the gate. “ I'm not going into the school, kid so you're gonna have to come down here ” “ Oh, okay ” she replied as she paid the driver before she stepped down from the taxi. The driver helped her get her luggage out of the trunk and quickly got back into the taxi. “Goodluck kid”, the driver said before he drove off. Reign smiled then yelled “Thank you ”. Then, she turned towards the gate took a deep breath before walking through the academy gates.

As Reign entered the college environment, the energy she felt was off the charts. Students hurried past, their portfolios tucked under their arms. Cars drove in and out of the compound consistently. Confused students asked other people for directions. The whole place was bustling with activity. Reign knew she couldn't make her way around the college so she went to the security building which was beside the gate to for directions to the administration building. The man there directed her to the building which was a further down the road from the college entrance. She thanked them and began to make her way to the administration building.

When Reign reached the building, she couldn't help but marvel in awe at the site of it. It was a white and golden modern two storey tall building. It was indeed a magnificent building. She was still taking in the site of the building as she was walking when she nearly collided with another student who was exiting the building. It was a girl with ginger hair who wore a white T-shirt and trousers, accented with a red belt and sneakers. A red and white headset circled her neck, and a red backpack rested on one shoulder. Reign who felt sorry and embarrassed began to apologize, “ I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to...” . Before she finished apologizing, the girl she bumped into interjected while smiling, “ it's okay, really! It is a pretty awesome building ”. Reign laughed, “ You're right, it is. But I'm sorry, nonetheless.” “ Eh, it's alright. You're new here, aren't you?” “ Yes, I am. I'm Reign” “ I'm Roxie, nice to meet you. I just finished up with my registration. What's your major?” “ Fashion design, how about you?” “Music. Well Reign, welcome to dream arts academy. If you need anything, just ask around in there. Everyone's pretty helpful ” “ Thanks, Roxie, that's good to know ” “ Well, I gotta go. It was nice meeting you Reign ” “ Likewise ”. And with a friendly nod, Roxie continued on her way before Reign walked into the building.

The interior of the building was as amazing as it was outside. It featured a reception with a white and gold pristine desk with a monitor on it. It also had a waiting area with plush chairs and wonderful tables. The flooring was made of white and brown marble tiles.

There were several golden doors, some led into offices and some were elevator doors. The reception area of the building was a hive of excitement, the air alive with the buzz of conversations and the shuffling of feet. Parents and students mingled in the lobby, a tapestry of anticipation and farewells. As she was looking around, she saw a line of trolley and she was relieved. She was tired of dragging all her luggage around so she placed them on the trolley and began to push it as she walked. She approached the reception desk, where a lady with a kind face and a warm smile stood. “ Hello and welcome. How can I assist you today?” “Hi, I'm Reign and I'm new. I'm here for the registration process.” “Pleased to meet you, Reign, can I see your admission letter?”. Reign then dips her hand into one of her bags, brings out the admission letter and hands it to the receptionist. The receptionist looks through the admission letter before saying, “Alright then, just head down the hall, second door to your right. That's the admission office and since you're a fashion major, go to Mr. Thompson's table, he'll have all the details you need” “Thank you ”. She walked away from the reception desk towards the admission office. The admission office was also filled with other students who were sorting out their admissions at other tables. As she entered, she scanned the desk name plates for the name, Mr. Thompson and when she found it, she walked towards the table. The friendly man greeted her, “ Hello, how can I help you?” “Hi, I'm Reign, I'm here to sort out my schedule” “ Okay, hold on let me just check your file”. He checks his computer for her name and when he finds it, he reaches out to a stack of files beside him, pulls out one with her name on it and hands it to her. “ Here's your school schedule, I've sent the soft copy to your email. Now head over to the accommodations office on the first floor for your room and key card. After that, you head to the ICT office on the second floor for the installation of the school app and you're all done. Just read the name plates on the doors, you'll find the offices.” “ Thank you Mr. Thompson ”. She then left the office and headed to the first floor via the elevator. She went to one of the attendants who didn't have any student in front of her table. “Hello, I'm here for my accommodation details” “Alright, name?” “Reign Kim” she said as she attendant typed into her computer. After that, she reaches out and grabs one of the many blue boxes stacked behind her, opens it and brings out a key card attached to a normal key by a key holder which she hands to Reign. “Here you go. You're in building three, room 204, now head to the ICT office for the school app ” “ Thank you ” She left the office and headed for the ICT office. At the office, she went to one of the ICT officer's desk. “Hello, how can I help you?” “Hi, I'm here for the installation of the app” “Phone, please ”. She gives him her phone, he uses it to scan the QR code on his computer and the app was installed in her phone, he then gives her back her phone. “All done” “Thank you, so what is the app for?” “ It's used for a variety of things. It has a map so you can navigate campus easily, you get school announcements like announcements, it has a feature called Dean where you get mass messages from the dean, you can get to know the school, it's lecturers, alumni and achievements from it, and a lot more. You get to know more as you use it.” “ Cool, anything else I should do?” “Nope, app installation is the last step in the registration process so you're good to go. You can go to your dorm and settle in.” “Okay, thank you for the help ” “You're welcome.”

When she left the ICT office, she went back to the ground floor via the elevator before she exited the building. She then hailed an on-campus taxi, loaded her luggage into the trunk and boarded the taxi. She told the driver that she was headed to the dorms before the driver drove off towards the dorms.
