It was a blazing hot day. Unfortunately, it was the most memorable and deciding moment for the world.
15th of summer, the year 1206 of the Glacian calendar. The last strike force of humanity was in a fierce battle against the strongest creature known to mankind. The evil dragon Cryszalis Mimon.
Arthur Falma was standing at the ruins of a city with the state where no one would believe that it was once the most beautiful city in the world.
Thousands of warriors were standing before the dragon, unafraid of the possible death that they might face. Their fierce conviction to the cause could be seen through each and everyone's eyes.
Common sense would say that no one in their right mind would dare to fight a being that's hundreds of times bigger than you with an astronomical difference in power, but every human standing there knew a simple fact.
If they cannot defeat the creature in front of them, the world that they all know will completely end. Thus every present human in that battlefield prepared themselves, readied their resolve to fight the last battle that they had to face.
"How dare you mere humans stand against me!"
Cryszalis Mimon roared as he opened and extended his wings sideways in anger.
With only the dragon's roar, the ground trembled, and the debris of the remains of the city crumbled even more. Only through their sheer determination were they able to overcome the terror brought by the dragon. Though Cryzsalis had the overwhelming presence to make the bravest heroes cower in fear, no one run nor hide.
"Mimon! We will destroy you today!"
Arthur shouted as he glared towards the dragon. It's obvious with his expression that anger and sorrow did not vary any longer.
"We will end this suffering you brought upon this world once and for all!"
In the last 15 years that he spent on that hellish world, almost everyone he knew died. From his parents, lover, friends, classmates were all taken away from him. Almost everyone in the world was gone and monsters roamed the earth dominantly.
The army of humanity was the only people remaining in the world and they were no more than a thousand tired individuals, but that could end if they could only defeat the main source of the evilness.
"How dare you!"
Cryzsalis Mimon roared as he used his [Fire breath] onto the battlefield as everything that the magic touches, burned into ashes.

*Baaaaam!*
Anything that was in sight. Living or not. Whatever that was swept by the fire were turned into ashes.
Cryzsalis Mimon, a being that once destroyed an entire civilization would definitely be a threat for the survivors.
The warriors used a magic defense they set up to stop the magic from decimating the entire army. They fought back to the last man. They tried everything to withstand the attack. They used everything from their arsenal to stop the magic that could wipe them all out, but all of their efforts was for naught.
The magic defense was hammered. It was smothered like a piece of glass and the magic defense that the army was so proud of was destroyed with the barrage of spells that Cryzsalis used.
Everyone that was hit by the attack was slaughtered on the spot. They were incinerated to the last part of their remains.
Every survivor experienced hell in that world, but every one of them managed to surpass that insurmountable challenges. They experienced a lot of life-and-death situations and were able to survive and became strong in the process, but at that moment, all that trials and tribulations that they experienced felt like a child's play in front of Cryzsalis Mimon.

Arthur Falma was devasted by the amount of death that the evil dragon brought.
Two entire platoons were killed.
Although they may be getting desperate, tired, and mentally exhausted, no one gave up. Instead, the echoes of the memories of the fallen fueled their drive to fight even more.
Arthur remembered all the tribulations that everyone had to endure since doomsday came. Every night, monsters would attack them and no matter where they go. There's no place safe anymore. They would take shelter inside a cave, set up camp under a tree, literally just anywhere. It doesn't matter where they go, the risk of danger would never go down. Almost every night through that 15 hellish years, one of them would die.
When apocalypse arrived, there were millions of survivors, and as years went by-as monsters onslaught continued to arise, their numbers dwindled down until they just became a thousand.
It would be easy to just give up. In fact, almost everyone succumbs to their negative thoughts of destruction. Everyone was convinced that death was imminent and it's only a matter of time before the world ends.
However, people like Arthur took the helm. Convinced people to somehow believe that it's still too early to give up. Though the future was bleak, as long as the chances were not zero, they could still win and take back their world.
He remembered all the weight of the decisions that he had to carry. All the people that he had to send to their death, commanding the entire army as its leader. For the sake of humanity. For the sake of the bleak chance to defeat Cryzsalis Mimon once and for all!
With that in mind, Arthur remembered and rekindled his resolve.
"Everyone! Stand firm and don't lose your formation!"
Arthur shout reverberated to the entire battlefield. He pointed in all directions, commanding the entire army making sure that their hearts were still in the battle, to make sure that they know what has to be done.
His will didn't waver, not even a bit. He knew that opportunity like that won't ever happen again.
It's now or never.
If they cannot slay the dragon, everything will end for humanity.
"You insects dare to defy your fate?!"
Bellowed by the dragon as it gave its menacing glare to the remaining survivors on the battlefield.
The dragon's pride was hurt.
For a being like a dragon who emanates strength itself. A being that boast of its strength and power that could rival the gods-not being able to annihilate beings such as humans in one go was the greatest insult.
Cryzsalis once again invoked a barrage of spells against the warriors across the battlefield.
*BAAAAAANG*
*BAAAAAAAANG*
*BAAAAAAAAAAANG*
A deafening barrage of attacks was cast down from the heavens.
Hundreds of tier 10 magic were summoned. The earth split asunder. Even with the magic defense system, the very pride of the army which they boast of never failing to repel any sort of magic was destroyed. The death of their comrades took a huge toll on them, yet no one gave up.
Even with the odds of winning were against them, the people did not succumb to the overwhelming pressure of the possible defeat. For them, the world was more important than their lives. Giving up was not a privilege that they had. After the death of countless people, they cared about, to give them the chance to save the world. Backing out was not an option.
As they remembered resolve, one of the people in the front line cried out
"We will destroy you here and now!" and people followed with the battle cries echoing throughout the entire battlefield.
Arthur Falma saw the barrage of tier 10 magic closing in onto their ranks. He used
[Sudden Reflect]
which made the magic attacks of the dragon to bounce back to himself.
With the dragon's attack being undoubtingly and astronomically strong-when his magic reflected back, he was pushed back with the heaviness of his own power and the dragon crashed down.
A wail made by the dragon's deep voice was heard by all the survivors.
"How dare you HUMAN?!"
That magic proved the attack was positively effective. Its scale which was thought to be impenetrable was damaged. The massive form which boasts of its power and toughness showed weakness for the first time.
The survivors found a bit of light to that endless tunnel which they were traveling for a very long time. Knowing that the being which they thought to be the epitome of power was showing weakness was the only confirmation they need to know that it's not invincible. That the journey they cross together with their living and fallen comrades was not impossible to finish.
Arthur sought that one time opportunity. A being proportionate to be compared to the gods was hurt and showed its weakness to an existence lesser to itself. He knew it was time. He should never let this chance slip by.
He used the magic [Light binding seal] of the illusionary magic system making Cryzsalis to be bound by white illusionary chains all throughout his body.
Arthur extended his right arm upward with his palm facing the heavens with his mana surging and visibly showing the stacking of power preparing for a devastating attack.
"Give me ten minutes, that binding spell won't last!"
Arthur yelled as his whole body quivered to the weight of mana that he was trying to accumulate.
The survivors did not waste any time, they protected Arthur without any regard for their safety.
They were shouting and running out of their formation with the sole purpose of protecting the hope that might end their anguish. For the others who were on the front line, they charged forward to the bounded dragon attacking it to stall time.
The sheer power alone of accumulating mana with that magnitude is obviously painful to an unimaginable degree, but Arthur knew that it was a necessity to use that magic.
Cryzsalis felt the amount of power that Arthur was preparing and it gave him the most outlandish feeling he ever felt.
'Fear.'
For the first time in his existence living for thousands of years, the dragon felt the need to do the preemptive attack. For a dragon whose existence far outweighs any being in the world, it never felt threatened in any way. It always toys with its prey, destroying anything that blocks its path. It was not considered a being but a calamity. You don't stop it, you wait for it to pass, and on that moment when it attacked it did not unleash its power for the sake of arrogance like he usually does but for protecting himself.
