Ch1 - Something strange
[Ohryaaaaa!]
I shouted as I ended the life of the high-rank elder dragon, steela.
I am playing DHO, also known as, Dragon Hunter Online. It is a vrmmorpg game that focuses on the hunting of dragon type monsters, using their drops to make new weapons and armours. The difference between DHO and other MMO is that DHO does not have levels, players progress by improving their skills and equipment instead. (something like mh)
Not to brag but I actually soloed Steela which normally took a full team of four hunters to hunt it.
It's not because I do not have any friends okay? It's because there is going to be an update soon and the server will be under maintenance.
After the last hunt with my friends, there were a few minutes left before the update so I went to solo a Steela.

The steela is an elder dragon that has the look of a European dragon no less than 8m tall when standing on all fours. It has armour-like scales that are as hard as steel, the only difference between its scales and normal armour is that it(scales) is very thick. Even if you manage to shave off some of its scales, you are far from hurting it. Even its wings are made of steel which made you wonder how does it actually fly. When its wings are spread, its width can easily reach up to five times its height.
And how did I solo this dragon with such hard scales? What people normally thought must be that I am using some op(overpowered) equipment.
But, even with op weapons, I don't think you can cut through the scales of steela, an elder dragon that easily.
Anyways my equipment is obviously from high ranked elder dragons as I can say that I am a high-rank player in DHO.
I am currently equipped with my favourite light armour made from materials of the strongest dark dragon, Vampaer and armed with my favourite weapons, Eternal flame dagger on my right and Endless tide dagger on my left which were made from materials of the strongest fire and water dragons, Leostel and Zeniola.
How I win Steela is the common hit-and-run tactic. I just try to dodge all of its attacks and keep striking at the same area until I stripped that area from its armour-like scales, revealing its flesh and finally dealing a fatal blow.

[Groahhhhhh!]
The dragon roared, breathing its last breath before its body fell to the ground making a slight tremor.

A few minutes later.
[That's weird?]
I mumbled with a puzzled face.
Usually, when the targeted monster is subjugated, there will be a pop-up signalling the completion of the mission.
It has already been a few minutes since I have slain the armoured dragon.
I am very sure that the mission's objective was only to slay the Steel elder dragon, Steela. If that's the case, this may be some kind of bug.
[EHHHHHHH?!]

When I am about to log off from DHO since this looks like a hopeless case, I let out a scream of surprise.
The logoff button is missing! To be exact, there isn't even a single button! The player's interface where they usually display the health and stamina of your character is nowhere to be found!

Ch2 - Differences
The player's interface is gone, no buttons are visible. I only noticed now because I normally focus on the monsters during a hunt. You may never know if an attack will be coming while you are looking at your status! Is this a bug?!
Come to think of it, there was a different feeling from usual during the fight with Steela just now. How do I say it... Everything felt real. I felt 'pain' when I got hit.
DHO is a vrmmorpg but there are no 'senses' other than sight and hearing inputted in the game. (basically no touch, no taste, no smell) So, how did I feel pain? Is this the new update?
With that thought, I tested out various things regarding the senses.
First, the most important sense that I am going to test is 'touch'. I lift up my hand and swing it to my face with moderate strength.
[Oww!]
I cried as I slapped myself. If people passed by, they must have thought that I am crazy for slapping myself. Honestly, you can simply check the sense of touch by touching your own hands or something. But, I wanted to make sure I did not fall asleep halfway through the hunt and went dreaming.
My brain lagged for a moment due to surprise before I moved on to test smell and taste.
The items used for hunting are all in the waist pouch for quick access. It will be annoying to press the interface buttons during a hunt to use items.
I took out a bread from my pouch and brought it close to my nose. There is actually a sweet aroma! Without a moment to spare, i bit down onto the sweet smelling soft bread.
[Mmmph! Delish!]
There's a sweet taste and a soft texture! The tasteless bread that is used to increase max stamina actually got a taste!
Gulp* (swallow)
With this, I came to two possibilities.
Number one - The update just came in and there are a lot of bugs.
Number two - DHO became real somehow.
Honestly, i will just bet my premium cake on number two. I hope there is some way I can confirm this situation quickly. But for now I will just finish my bread first~

>POV of a hunter<
Around me are over a hundred of A rank and B rank hunters, gathered to chase away the elder dragon that recently migrated to this forest.
Honestly, even with over a hundred man, I am not confident that we will be able to chase the elder dragon away. Only a group of S rank hunters can slay an elder dragon. Currently, there are only ten S rank hunters and all of them are currently on another mission.
As we are nearing the point where the elder dragon was last seen, all of us froze for a moment when a screeching roar echoed through the forest. Birds started flying away from the direction of the roar.
I can see the hunters around me tense up, some of them re-gripping their weapons for the sense of security. My heart started thumping faster.
6 hunters, including me were sent out to scout ahead. We split into twos and headed towards different directions.
I am currently running towards the point where the roar is heard last together with my best friend, Thomas. If I didn't lose a game of rock-paper-scissors, I would not have even thought of checking out the source directly.
[What is the meaning of this?!]
I mumbled, looking at the scene which unfolded in front of my eyes. When I turn over to look at Thomas, he had this amazing expression with both his eyes and his mouth wide open.
In front of us is the body of the elder dragon. I thought I am going to die just by looking at it.
But, what shocked us even more is the sight of a girl standing right beside the dragon. She looks around 160cm tall with long silver hair over her waist. Her skin is as white as snow which contrast with the black clothing she is wearing and her eyes are shining in a golden color like it is reflecting on the colors of the Sun. Wearing a halterneck with her back covered with a hooded cape and a pair of mini shorts that exposes her beautiful thigh, her figure was so alluring that I can't take my eyes off her. The girl is what one would call a beauty, it is not an exaggeration to say that she may be the most beautiful girl in this world. She is wearing this delightful face as she chomp on the bread in her hand.
It took me a while to snap out of it. I tapped on Thomas' shoulder and signal him to approach the girl. He got so shocked that he let out a cry when i tapped him.
I looked back at the girl in panic and froze. The girl is staring right back at us with a face that looked like she is surprised.
At that moment, an angelic voice reached my ears.
[Hey! The two of you over there!]
It was the voice of the girl calling out to us.
