Announcing my new multiversal isekai, The Truck Effect (link and trailer below), here on Royal Road. I'd had several pre-existing ideas brewing upon finishing Doing God's Work, and in true chaotic spirit, this was... none of them.
It was, however, the story that demanded to be written.
Whether you love isekais or hate them, The Truck Effect is my homage to Truck-kun from his own perspective. It's a rational-ish take on isekai staples, woven in with a multiversal action adventure and multiple overarching mysteries. Why do isekai reincarnators exist, what goes on behind the scenes, and most of all... why?
If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
- Why do reincarnators have to die?
- Why is this the trigger for saving a world?
- What makes isekai protagonists similar?
- What is the common factor making them so powerful?
- Why does any of it happen, and what does it all mean?
This story will answer those questions and tie it all together with a fast-paced multiverse-spanning plot about intrigue, power, and ancient secrets. It's an isekai about many isekais - from one tier up looking in.
I hope you'll enjoy reading it as much as I loved writing it. There's a certain amount of shared DNA with Doing God's Work, albeit with The Truck Effect taking a more serious tone.
The first few chapters have dropped, with a regular release schedule over the next month. Book One is finished and ready to go. Let me know what you think!
