The TARDIS was levitating in the Time Vortex and the Doctor in the console room was thinking about a possible plan to investigate the men who poisoned him and Conan.

“So, let’s summarise this: Both Conan and I have been forced to ingest a bizarre poison pill by two men all dressed in black. One of them had long silver hair, the other had black hair and was wearing sunglasses, according to Conan, their code names are “Gin” and “Vodka”, so I presume all of the code names in their organisation are names of famous alcohols.” the Doctor said to himself, “There’s a high chance that the effects of the pill weren’t expected, so perhaps Conan isn’t the only human survivor, it would be ideal to find them and ally with them. Should I ask UNIT for help? No, I doubt they could do much. Plus, I doubt the Japanese branch knows about me. Ah, if only I could have a clue and localise them…Should I start with the poison? Nah, I don’t even know what was it cal-”

“APTX 4869.” Shiho, who by her own request lives in the TARDIS with the Doctor, entered the console room. “That’s the name of the drug you took.”

The Doctor whirled to her. “Oh, I haven’t heard you coming in, Shiho. What are you talking about?” He played dumb.

“Well, that should be the correct name, after all, I created it for the Organisation that attacked you.”

Tension fell between the two, the Doctor was shocked, but he quickly regained composure and remained on alert.

“It appears I did well at being cautious. I’m curious, what’s your code name?”

“Sherry.” Shiho said, “Huh, you seem to be rather collected about this new information.”

“I always knew that you were kinda sketchy, especially on how unchildlike you behave and the fact that you suddenly appeared out of nowhere in my TARDIS.” the Doctor said, “So, what are you gonna do now? Tell your little friends in black that Conan and I survived their defective drug?”

Shiho chuckled, “Why would I? You’re an interesting specimen, I’ve never met an alien before. The APTX was designed as a poison for humans, so I’m curious about its effects on you.”

“You’re not very good at flirting, are you?” the Time Lord sarcastically said, as he pressed various buttons on the console, “Say, Shiho, I presume that you also ingested the APTX, even if you created it and you’re part of this Organisation, why have you done that?”

“If you’re worried about that, I defected from the organisation, so you can remain calm.”

The Doctor raised an eyebrow, “Oh, now that’s interesting. If that’s true, then you shouldn’t have any problems creating an antidote for the APTX.”

“I doubt that. All the data about the drug are in the Research Lab, remembering all of it is impossible.”

“Alright, let’s go to this lab then.” the Doctor nonchalantly said.

“At this time they have probably burned everything down, deleting every single data, it shouldn’t be a problem for you and your time machine.”

“Correct! I’ll just go in the past of a few weeks.” the Doctor said.

Shiho said where the lab was located, the Doctor put the coordinates and pulled down the lever, thinking that the TARDIS would move faster through the Time Vortex.

However, that didn’t happen. The TARDIS abruptly stopped, as if it crashed straight to a wall.

The Doctor quickly checked the console. “What?! You have GOT to be kidding me!”

“What happened?” Shiho said.

“Someone put a Time Lock around the Lab! I can’t materialise in it at any time!” the Doctor explained, visibly annoyed, “Who did put something like that?! Only a Time Lord could do that!”

“So, what are you gonna do now?” Shiho said.

The Doctor ignored her and pulled down the lever on the console and the TARDIS started levitating at high speed.

Meanwhile, a space ship was crash landing on Earth. It looked like a bronze UFO.

Luckily, the systems weren’t damaged enough to deactivate the perception filter, so that it passed undetected.

From it, a small purple squid-like alien with one eye came out of it. The crash severely damaged it, so it struggled at moving and it would probably die within hours if someone didn't help him, he hid in a bush, hoping he wouldn't get noticed.

A couple hours later, the school day ended at Teitan Elementary and Ayumi, after chatting with the Detective Boys, was heading home.

While walking, she heard a hoarse, deep and full of pain.

“HELP…ME…” It was loud and quiet at the same time.

Ayumi looked around, “Who’s there?”, she asked.

“I AM HERE…I REQUIRE…ASSISTANCE…” the creature spoke again

Ayumi followed the voice and found the squid-like alien. “An alien?” She thought. “Are you okay? How can I help you?”

“I…NEED…TO HIDE…” the alien said.

Ayumi opened her school bag and motioned to hide in it. “Here, you’ll be safe here.”

The alien obliged and hid in the school bag.

While walking home, Ayumi was thinking about what she should do next.

“Should I call the Doctor? He knows many things, so maybe he could help that alien. But…How can I call him? Does he have a phone? Maybe if I call Conan first…”

Ayumi entered her home, a flat in a very tall building.

“I’m home!” she said.

No one answered.

“Oh, they must be still at work.” she thought, “Well, that’s better, they won’t find out about them.”

She opened the school bag.

“IS IT SAFE NOW…?” the alien asked.

“Yes, we’re alone.” Ayumi said.

The creature slowly came out of the little girl’s backpack. “IS THIS…YOUR BASE?”

Ayumi looked around confused, “Oh, you mean my house? Yes, it’s my “base”, you’re safe here.” she smiled, “Say, what’s your name? I’m Ayumi!”

“I…AM…A DALEK.” The Dalek said.

“A…Dalek?" The girl repeated. "Is that your name?"

"I DO NOT...HAVE A NAME. I AM...A DALEK." The Dalek corrected her.

“Ok, nice to meet you, “Dalek”. How did you…Come to Earth?”

The Dalek seemed reluctant to speak but he did it anyway.

“I WAS…ESCAPING.”

“Escaping? From who?”

“MY…PEOPLE. I AM NOT…VERY WELCOMED ON MY PLANET.”

“Really? Why is that?”

“I SAW…BEAUTY. I EXTERMINATED ALL LIFEFORMS THAT AREN’T DALEKS AND YET…LIFE REFUSED TO SURRENDER.”

“Ex…Terminated?”

“YES.”

“So that’s why you escaped? Were they trying to kill you?”

“YES.”

Ayumi remained silent, then she stood up and went to the phone.

“WHAT ARE YOU…DOING?” The Dalek asked.

“I’m calling a friend, he may help you hide.” she explained.

The girl dialled the number and called the only person that she knows they may help her who isn’t the Doctor: Conan.

Conan answered the phone quickly, “Hello?”

“Hi, Conan, I have a problem, can you come to my house?”

“Huh…Sure, did something happen?”

“I’ll…I’ll explain later.” Ayumi’s tone changed to a worried one.

“Okay, I’m on my way.” Conan closed the call.

15 minutes later, Conan rang the bell, Ayumi opened the door.

“Thanks for coming…” she said.

“I came here as fast as I could, what happened?” Conan asked, holding his Turbo Engine Skateboard as he entered Ayumi's house.

The girl pointed at the Dalek.

“..What the hell is that?” Conan thought, confused by the Dalek.

“WHO IS THIS…YOUNG HUMAN?” The Dalek asked.

“Conan Edogawa, Detective.” the bespectacled boy instinctively introduced himself, he then turned to Ayumi “Where did you find it?”

“Near the park on my way home. He seemed in pain and told me that he needed to hide, so I helped him.”

“...You gave shelter to an unknown alien that could possibly have hostile intentions?”

“He’s not bad! He seems nice!” Ayumi justified her actions.

Conan sighed, “Did you tell the Doctor about this? Where is he, to begin with.”

Ayumi shook her head, "I didn't, I don't know how to contact him."

"THE…DOCTOR?" The Dalek asked.

“Hmm? It’s our friend, I’m sure he can help you, Dalek.” Ayumi smiled.

Suddenly, the Dalek jumped on her and attached himself to her back,

“Ayumi-”

“HALT!” The Dalek spoke through Ayumi, “ONE MORE MOVE AND THE HUMAN FEMALE WILL BE EXTERMINATED.”

Conan stood still. “You bastard…What are your intentions?!”

"YOU ARE ALLIED WITH THE DOCTOR. I MUST ESCAPE, THE HUMAN HERE WILL COME WITH ME."

The Dalek-Ayumi jumped from the balcony from one to another.

"Shit!" Conan put on his hood so that he wouldn't be recognised, used his skateboard at maximum speed, managing to chase the Dalek on the roofs.

"GET BACK HERE!" He yelled at the alien.

The Dalek noticed the boy's presence and started throwing bricks at him, hoping to slow him down, which he quickly dodged.

Suddenly, they both heard a familiar groaning, wheezing noise.

Conan looked around and saw the TARDIS flying around.

The box came closer to him, and the Doctor opened the door.

Conan jumped on the TARDIS.

"Doctor!" He said

"What's going on? We saw you chasing Ayumi." the Doctor asked.

"An alien seems to have taken control of her body, he said that he's a Dalek."

the Doctor turned pale, and rushed to the console.

"You seem to know them well, what's a Dalek?" Conan asked.

"Ruthless creatures that want to exterminate every single lifeform who isn't a Dalek. I've fought them many times since I started travelling with human companions." the Doctor explained, "However, don't worry! We'll save her! There is one thing that Daleks fear.."

"That thing is supposed to be you, isn't that right?" Shiho said.

"Correct!" The Time Lord smugly said.

"Well, I can't wait how you'll solve this, Doctor Who." The brunette smirked.

"What did you just call me?" the Doctor asked, both confused and weirdly offended.

"Enough flirting, you two." Conan interrupted them. "We have a kid to save, remember?"

the Doctor sighed and went to the console. "Okay, I'm tracking Ayumi via her DNA, she's heading to Beika Park." The young-looking Time Lord explained.

The TARDIS took higher speed and dematerialised.

Meanwhile, The Dalek was rebuilding his casing by using scrap materials.

"...Why are you doing this?" She asked, with a saddened tone. "I thought we were friends…"

"YOU ARE ALLIED WITH THE DOCTOR. THE DOCTOR IS AN ENEMY OF THE DALEKS. I HAVE TO ESCAPE." The Dalek said.

"But the Doctor is nice! He won't hurt you, I promise-"

"LIAR! I AM A DALEK, HE WILL TRY TO EXTERMINATE ME, JUST LIKE WE DALEKS TRY TO DO WITH THEM."

Ayumi listened to him carefully, and started to understand.

"Are you…Scared by him?" She asked.

The question seemed to have hit a souring button. "...I AM."

Suddenly, the TARDIS materialised near them.

The Doctor, Conan and Shiho quickly came out, with the former death glaring at the Dalek.

"Taking a child as a hostage, you Daleks never fails to surprise me at how scumbags you can be." He said.

"STAY AWAY!" The Dalek, via Ayumi, ordered, while he stood back.

"How about I don't?" the Doctor taunted the Dalek by coming closer, "So, what are your intentions, Dalek? Will you free my friend or do I have to force you?"

"Doctor, stop!" Ayumi regained control of her body. "Please, don't hurt him!"

The Doctor raised an eyebrow. "What are you saying, Ayumi?"

"He isn't evil! He won't hurt me!"

The Time Lord laughed, "You're saying that he's a good Dalek? Good joke, there's no such thing as a good Dalek."

"But he is! He's just…Scared!" Ayumi tried to defend him.

The Doctor kept silent. "By me, I suppose."

The little girl nodded. "He said that he escaped from his people, he just wants a place to hide."

The Doctor seemed to understand the situation. "Did you escape from the Dalek Asylum?"

"...CORRECT. IF THEY FOUND ME, I'LL BE EXTERMINATED." The Dalek said. "I DO NOT HAVE HOSTILE INTENTIONS, I WISH TO HIDE AND LIVE IN PEACE."

the Doctor was surprised, he never heard of a peaceful Dalek. "No wonder you were in the Dalek Asylum. Fine, I'll help you leave this planet, as long as you free Ayumi."

The Dalek freed Ayumi and entered his casing, he then said two words, unusual for his kind, "THANK YOU."

The Doctor didn't say a word, weirded out by the situation.

He and the Dalek fixed the latter's spaceship and was now ready to be used again.

He then went to Ayumi.

"So, where are you heading to?" She asked.

"I DO NOT KNOW. AS FAR AS I CAN FROM THE DALEKS." The Dalek said, "I BELIEVE THIS IS WHAT YOU HUMANS CALL A"GOODBYE "."

Ayumi nodded, "Good luck, Dalek."

The Dalek entered his spaceship and disappeared in the stratosphere.

"Will we see him again, Doctor?" Ayumi asked.

"Who knows, a Dalek usually always comes back whenever I defeat them." the Doctor said, "You know, you're a very special girl, Ayumi."

"Really? Why?"

"You managed to befriend a creature who only knows hate as emotion. Well done." He headpatted Ayumi, causing her to blush. "Well then, let's go home, shall we?"

Everyone entered the TARDIS but not before the Doctor whispered something to Conan.

"We need to talk."

The two then entered inside and the TARDIS dematerialised.
