The Redemption of a Time Lord

The Twelfth Doctor woke up.

He looked around, he was in an unfamiliar room. He tried to stand up, but he couldn’t move: His hands were tied to the chair.

Kate entered the room.

“Oh, you’re finally awake,” she said.

“Kate Stewart…?” the Twelfth Doctor feebly said, “Wha…What happened?”

“You and your friends were found unconscious in our labs. Second, it’s Lethbridge -Stewart.”

“Right, now I remember…We probably are in another universe, no wonder she doesn’t recognise me.” the Twelfth Doctor thought.

“Now, back to business: State your name,” Kate said.

“The Doctor.” the Twelfth Doctor said.

“I asked your name, not your profession,” Kate said.

“And I told you, I’m the Doctor.” the Twelfth Doctor said.

“...Curious, that’s the answer 6 of your friends gave during their interrogation,” Kate said, giving the Twelfth Doctor photos of the alternate incarnations. “All you said was that you were “the Doctor”, just like the man that used to work with us back in the 70s…And that now tries to kill us all.” Kate said.

The Twelfth Doctor finally realised what universe they were in. “You're talking about…The Time Lord Victorious?”

“And whose otherwise?” Kate said. "We were worried that you and your friends were his spies. Perhaps she can tell us more."

"She?" the Twelfth Doctor asked.

"Follow me."

Kate opened the door and the two went away.

As the two walked, the Twelfth Doctor noticed a board on the wall, listing the names of people who collaborated with UNIT that either died trying to fight the Victorious or are currently missing. Among those names, there were some names familiar to him, such as:

Dr. Martha Jones (Missing)

Mickey Smith (Deceased)

Colonel Alan Mace (Deceased)

John Benton (Deceased)

Sarah Jane Smith (Deceased)

Josephine Jones (Missing)

Gwen Cooper (Missing)

Ianto Jones (Deceased)

Malcolm Taylor (Deceased)

Jack Harkness (Missing)

The Twelfth Doctor looked at the board for a while with a devastated look, but then he went away and followed Kate.

They arrived in a room, with the other 6 Doctors and their companions waiting.

"Oh, there you are." the Warrior said.

"Did Kate tell you anything?" the Tragedy Doctor asked.

"Not really, she said only that someone wants to talk with us."

"Hey, Doctor…" Hikari pulled the Tragedy Doctor's coat. "Where are we?"

"I think we're in a UNIT base." the Child Doctor said.

"UNIT? Sorry, what's that?" Alice asked.

"Yes, I'd like to know that too." the First Doctor and Theta said in unison.

"United Nations Intelligence Taskforce. It’s an organisation created by the UN in the 60s to defend the planet against otherworldly threats. A friend of ours, Brigadier Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart, was the leader of the British branch at the time.” the Tragedy Doctor explained.

“And that blonde woman is Kate Lethbridge-Stewart, his daughter.” the Twelfth Doctor continued.

The First Doctor and Theta, not knowing what UNIT was, listen carefully to everything just like the companions. As for the remaining Doctors, they were quite surprised.

“Oh, I didn’t know the Brigadier had a daughter.” the Spider Doctor commented.

“She’s just like her father, I see.” the Child Doctor said, “Perhaps she’s a bit more reasonable. For starters, she didn’t order to shoot us the instant we arrived.” He chuckled.

“Back to business. Have you guys realised in which universe we are?" Shiho asked.

"Well, from how these humans speak, we must be in the Victorious' home universe," Alice asked.

"It was because of that gash, wasn't it?" Conan said.

"Probably. But I wonder…The Victorious wanted us dead, right? Then, who made those gashes? Why were we sent here?"

"Because the fabric of reality is falling apart, of course." A female voice spoke, "Although, I may be involved with the fact you arrived here."

The Twelfth and Tragedy Doctors recognised that voice.

A woman with blue eyes and wild dark hair, wearing a purple Mary Poppins-esque outfit entered the room.

“Hello, Doctor,” she said.

"Who is she?" Hikari asked.

"That's the Master, an old frenemy of ours. You know, Koschei." the Twelfth Doctor said.

"That's the Master?!" the Child Doctor said.

"The one and only. I go by "Missy"." Missy said.

"Koschei…" Theta thought.

"What are you doing here, in a UNIT base?" the Warrior asked.

"Relax, I'm not gonna kill them or something. In fact, they ask me for help. They're more like…What do you call them yours? Servants? Pets?"

"...Companions." the Child Doctor corrected her.

“Oh yeah, that,” Missy said. “Now, back to business: I’m sure y’all are aware of what’s going on with the Victorious, right?”

The TARDIS teams nodded.

“We had a lovely encounter with him.” the Spider Doctor sarcastically said.

“Hold on, Missy!” the Tragedy Doctor said, “About what you said before…About the gashes.”

“You mean that those gashes are the result of the weakening of the fabric of reality? Yes, I said that.”

“That’s…Horrible! How do we stop this?!”

“Well…We could have a chance if we went to the Victorious’ HQs and destroyed all his technology.”

“His base is at the centre of London, not too far from here,” Kate said.

“Great! What are we waiting for?” Hikari said.

“Hold on there.” the Spider Doctor put her hand on Hikari’s shoulder, “There are tons of Cybermen there, remember? Why do you think UNIT is hiding in this ruined building?”

“Oh, right…I haven’t thought of that.” Hikari said, saddened.

“So? What’s the plan?”

As the other discussed a plan, Conan was silent, thinking deeply.

Shiho noticed it and went to talk with him.

“Something’s wrong, Kudo?” She asked, “You seem to think about something.”

“Hmm? Oh, yeah-I was wondering if the Victorious was aware of it, too.” Conan said.

“Aware of what?”

“That he’s destroying the fabric of reality. Is he doing it on purpose, or is he clueless about it?” Conan said.

“Hmm…If that’s the case, perhaps we might…Reason with him?” the First Doctor proposed.

Everyone turned to the First Doctor.

“Seriously? He turned half of Earth’s population into Cybermen, I doubt he’ll be willing to talk.” Kate said.

“No, it could actually work.” the Spider Doctor said, “After all, the only person an arrogant, power-hungry mad dictator would listen to is…Himself!”

“But then again, we still don’t know how to reach his HQs safely,” Shiho said.

“Cybermen usually try to convert creatures like humans, they don’t attack Time Lords.” the Child Doctor said.

“Well, unless you’re the Doctor.” the Tragedy Doctor sarcastically thought.

“Hmm…Oh! Oh! Maybe we can fly to the tower!” Clara proposed.

“I doubt we can,” Theta whispered to the green-haired demon. “They’re humans, they don’t have wings. Plus, we would draw too much attention.”

“Ooh…!” Clara said.

“We could use the Underground. That’s how we travel when we go look for food supplies.” Kate said.

“Wonderful! Mind escorting us, hmm?” the First Doctor asked.

“I’ll send you some of my men with you, you’re never too cautious,” Kate said.

“I’ll go with you, it may be a fun ride.” Missy said, “Follow me!”

The group, led by Missy, Kate and a couple of UNIT soldiers, arrived in front of a manhole. Kate opened it, revealing the entrance of the Underground.

“It’s pretty cold down here…” Hikari had shivers.

The Child Doctor took off his frock coat and gave it to Hikari, “There you go, it should be of your size.”

Hikari put it on. “Hehe, it’s warm…Thanks!”

“You’re welcome”.

“Here’s a map of the Underground.” Kate showed the map to the group. “If we go west, we should arrive not far from the Time Lord Victorious’ headquarters.”

“Let’s go there, then.” the Twelfth Doctor said.

The group entered the western section of the Underground.

While walking, Hikari wanted to know more about the other Doctors’ companions.

“Hey, Conan, right?” She said,

“Huh, yes. Do you need something, Hikari?” Conan said.

“How…Old are you, exactly?”

The bespectacled “child” was slightly surprised by this question. “Huh…W-Why do you ask?”

This story originates from Royal Road. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.

“Because you don’t act like a child! Are you an alien or something?” Hikari asked.

“No, I’m as human as you are, it’s just…A bit of a long story.” Conan said.

“I must agree. Sometimes you’re awful at pretending to be a child, eh, Kudo?” Shiho chuckled.

Conan chuckled, annoyed.

Theta kept thinking about something.

“Is there something wrong, Great Theta?” Alice asked.

“Hmm? Oh, it’s nothing. I just wonder if the Victorious is aware that we escaped.” Theta said.

“Eh, he’s probably not. We would have probably been surrounded by Cybermen by now if he was.” the Spider Doctor dismissed Theta’s concerns.

"We arrived," Kate said. "These stairs lead to the outside. The tower is just a mile away from here.”

“Off we go, then!” the Child Doctor said.

The group continued walking with the UNIT soldier being on alert in case a Cyberman arrived.

Conan looked around, seemingly suspecting of something.

“What now, Kudo?” Shiho said.

"It's rather quiet for being a world overrun by Cybermen, isn't it?" Conan said, "It's like if the Victorious wants us to go to his Headquarters."

"Well, it's not like we have any choice, do we?" Shiho said. "If we want to stop him, we just have to continue into the lion's den."

"Conan! Shiho! What are you standing up outside for?!"

"We're coming." Shiho calmly said. "Come on, they're waiting for us."

The two quickly reunited with the group.

Inside the tower, they arrived in what seemed to be a great hall, with statues of the Victorious and various Seals of Rassilon.

"Turning evil made us more humble, eh?" the Spider Doctor commented with sarcasm.

The Child Doctor scanned the area with his sonic screwdriver. "It seems all clear here."

"That seems suspicious." the First Doctor said.

"Do you think it's a trap?" Hikari asked.

"Let's find out, then." the Twelfth Doctor said, as he continued walking.

Conan's intuition at the end was correct, the Victorious was spying on the TARDIS teams' moves via simply hidden security cameras.

“WHAT-SHALL-WE-DO-WITH-THE-INTRUDERS?” The Cyberman guard asked.

"Oh, don't do anything." the Victorious said, "I wanna see how they'll perform. Keep sending more troops in the Gate, we need to expand.”

“AS-YOU-WISH.” the Cyberman guard left the room.

The Victorious chuckled, “This is getting fun, how about I..Spice things up a little?” He pushed a button labelled “Big (Un)Friendly Button!”.

----------------------------------------

The Spider Doctor suddenly went alarmed.

“Oi, what’s with the Spider?” Missy asked.

“I sensed…Something…”

“Really? What have you sensed, Spider-Woman?” Shiho asked.

“I felt something was coming towards us and, considering our current location, it’s probably something that isn’t friendly.” the Spider Doctor said.

“Guys! Over there!” Theta pointed at a Cyberman patrolling.

“It’s one of those metal-thingy!” Clara said.

“They’re Cybermen.” the Twelfth Doctor said.

“Sontarans, Weeping Angels and now even Cybermen! The Victorious is having a trip down Memory Lane, I see.” the Child Doctor commented.

Theta looked around and saw the fire system. “Hey, Alice, you saw that thing over there? It’s a fire alarm system, can you use your flames to trigger it?”

“You want to distract him with the alarm?” Hikari said.

“Well, it could work.” the Warrior said.

“So? Will you do it?” Theta asked.

“Your wish is my command, Great Theta.” Alice bowed.

He concentrated and created a wall of flames, triggering the alarm system.

However, this didn’t distract the Cyberman, who noticed our heroes.

“RUN!” the Child Doctor said.

The group split up, the UNIT soldiers tried to do covering fire on the Cyberman so that the others could escape.

The Cyberman touched the two soldiers and electrocuted them.

“INTRUDER-ALERT, INTRUDER-ALERT.” the Cyberman gave the alarm.

Various Cybermen arrived in the hallway. As for our heroes, they managed to hide in a room full of machines.

“Great, we’re stuck in here,” Shiho commented.

Susan looked around. “Look! There’s a vent! We can use it to escape.”

“Yeah, but what about me? That vent is too small.” the Spider Doctor said.

“No…Susan might be right. I’ve got an idea.” the First Doctor said.

A Cyberman entered the room, finding nobody inside. The instant he entered the room, he fell into the trap of webs made by the Spider Doctor, destroying him.

“There you go!” the Spider Doctor said.

The others returned to the room by the vent.

“Well done.” Kate was impressed by the web trap.

“Well, that was easy." the Spider Doctor said.

"Now, let's get away from here, reinforcements might arrive." the Twelfth Doctor said.

“Hey!” Susan said. “I think I found a useful room! Follow me!"

The group followed Susan in a room with one large monitor.

"This must be the surveillance room, hmm." the First Doctor said.

"We should sabotage it, so nobody can see us." the Child Doctor proposed.

"Over here." Conan said, "I think I found a plan for the building."

"There are all the rooms here." Kate said, "Look, we should find something interesting on the 13th floor."

"13, huh? Just like the number of lives a Time Lord has." Theta said.

"Perhaps it's just a coincidence?" Hikari said.

"I doubt it, this building seems a bit too small," Alice said.

"I agree, Pretty Boy. If I was a megalomaniac schemist with the desire to conquer the universe, which I am, my Headquarters would have more than just 13 floors." Missy said.

"Do you think the Victorious is hiding something?” the Warrior said.

“Probably.” the Twelfth Doctor said.

“Huh…Guys?” Hikari said. “The door is locked!”

Suddenly, gas entered the room.

“It’s sleeping gas!” Kate said, coughing.

“Cover your mouth! Don’t breathe the…Gas…” Conan said.

But unfortunately, everyone fell unconscious.

----------------------------------------

"Oi, kid. Wake up."

Hikari heard Missy's voice.

"Ugh…" Her vision became clear. "Huh? Where are we? Where's the Doctor?"

"That's a good question." Kate said, "We're probably on the lower floor of the building, with the others out of our sight."

"What are they gonna do to us?" Hikari's tone started to tremble.

"Turn us into Cybermen, probably." Missy bluntly said. "Or at least, you two. I'm a Time Lady, they can't convert me."

"I hope the others are fine…"

----------------------------------------

Meanwhile, on the highest floor of the tower, the Child Doctor regained consciousness along with the six other Doctors.

He tried to move it, but he soon found out that there was a force field surrounding

"Good morning, sleepy heads!" the Victorious said.

"...Where are the others?" The Twelfth Doctor asked with a cold tone.

“Heh, probably somewhere down in the building getting converted into Cybermen.” the Victorious nonchalantly said. “Anyway, you managed to escape the Void, as expected from me from other universes.

“...Why are you doing this?” the Spider Doctor asked. “Why try to conquer the Multiverse?”

The Victorious’ puzzled expression quickly turned into a smirk, he turned around and pressed a red button.

A screen turned on, showing images of Skaro, the home planet of the Daleks.

“Grandfather, look!” a little girl with brown hair tied into a ponytail spoke.

A man walked towards her. He was tall, with short grey hair and a moustache, wearing a burgundy suit.

“What have you found this time?”

The Doctors witnessed the scene in confusion.

“That’s Skaro…When we arrived with Susan and the others!” the Child Doctor said.

“But…Who are those two?” the Spider Doctor said, “Is that man us?”

“Correctamundo! That man is known as “Dr. Who”: It’s us, but he’s a Human!” the Victorious said, excited. “I’ve seen so many universes, with so many weird alternate versions of us! I saw even who I’ll regenerate into! I don’t mind it, even if I don’t like that chin and the non-existent eyebrows…I’ll even turn into a woman in the future!”

“You’re fascinated by our alternate selves, and yet you want to destroy them, hmm?” the First Doctor said. His comment seemed to have touched a sore spot for the Victorious.

“You still haven’t answered me: Why are you doing this?” the Spider Doctor said.

“...Across the universe, so much pain, so much sadness, so much death…I want to end all this.” the Victorious said.

“And yet you turned half of the human population into Cybermen.” the Warrior raised an eyebrow.

----------------------------------------

Meanwhile, a Cyberman was guarding the cell where Alice, Clara and Conan were.

He went to check the cell but found it empty. He entered and Conan hit it with a box using his Power-Enchanting Kick Shoes.

“NOW!” the boy said.

The two demons attacked the Cyberman, managing to immobilise after a lot of effort.

“Finally,” Conan said, panting, he took out his Detective Boys Badge transmitter and tried to contact Shiho. “Shiho? Shiho, can you hear me?”

“Yes…I can.” Shiho responded.

“Alice, Clara and I managed to escape from our cell, where are you? Are you alone?” Conan asked.

“I’m in a cell too…It’s pretty dark in here, I’m with the Doctor’s granddaughter.” Shiho said, “I can hear Missy’s voice too from here.”

“Alright, we’re coming to get you, don’t worry.” Conan closed the call. “Shiho and the others are somewhere on this floor.”

“Have you any news about the Great Theta and the Doctors?” Alice asked.

“No, but if my deductions are right, they probably got brought to the Victorious himself. Now, let’s go!”

The trio ran away, looking for the other cells.

A Cyberman went to Missy, Kate and Hikari's cell.

"THE-PREPARATIONS-HAVE-FINISHED. THE-UPGRADE-WILL-COMMENCE." They ominously started approaching Hikari. "YOU-WILL-BE-THE-FIRST. DO-NOT-WORRY, YOU-WILL-BE-UPGRADED."

"No…G-Go away!" Hikari started getting scared. She tried to run away but the Cyberman caught her.

"Let her go!" Kate tried to free the little girl. Missy, knowing it was a useless attempt, stood back and watched the scene.

Luckily, a soccer ball hit the Cyberman, letting Hikari go.

"Phew, just in time…" Conan thought. "Are you three okay?"

"Yeah, thanks for the rescue…" Hikari said.

"Where are the others?"

"They're probably facing the Victorious," Shiho said, who arrived along with Susan after being freed by Alice and Clara. "Come on, the Doctor needs us."

Everyone nodded and started climbing the stairs.

----------------------------------------

"...It was necessary, I had to do it." the Victorious said.

"No, you didn't!" the First Doctor said, "There was absolutely no necessity to turn innocents into emotionless killing machines!"

"QUIET!" He said. "What do you know about it? You're still young! You still haven't met Ian and Barbara yet! You don't know anything about what will come to you!"

"What are you talking about?" Theta asked, starting to feel worried.

“We’re cursed, nearly all of our companions are forced to leave us eventually! How many of our friends' lives are ruined because of us?! Katarina, Adric, Ace, Rose, Martha? DONNA?! ”

The Doctors remained silent.

“I’m tired of this! I’m tired of suffering! We have helped many people during our travels, but whoever helped US?! ”

“Enough, Grandfather.” A young familiar female voice: It was Susan, along with the other companions.

“Susan…” the First Doctor said.

“What are you doing here?!” the Victorious said with a tone full of hatred.

“Don’t try to gather more Cybermen here.” Kate said, “We’ve destroyed the communication system, you’re all alone now, Victorious.”

“Gh..”

“We…We just want to talk with you. We won’t hurt you, promise.” Susan sheepishly smiled.

“About what? We don’t have anything to talk about.” the Victorious turned away.

“Yes, we do,” Conan said.

“You have to stop this, reality itself is falling apart!” Susan said.

“Tsk, ridiculous. It’s a trick to make me lower my guard.”

“No, it’s not, you dummy!” Hikari said, annoyed. “Why do you think those gashes appeared, huh?!”

“It’s true!” the Tragedy Doctor said, “That Multiversal Machine of yours weakens the fabric of reality every time you use it! If you don’t stop, it will collapse!”

The Victorious chuckled, “ And why should I listen to you ?”

“Huh?”

“Well, if reality is shattering, it will be a quick and painless death to everyone. And it’s not like I can’t stop at this moment…”

“Huh? Why not?” Clara tilted her head.

“Look at this.” the Victorious pointed to a window, showing how devastated London was. “I did this. I can’t stop it, I must continue or everything will be for nothing…”

“It already is for nothing.” the Warrior said.

“But you can still stop! It’s not too late!” Theta said.

“I know what you feel, you still are haunted by the shadow of the Time War, aren’t you?” the Twelfth Doctor said. "It has been a while for me, but it still haunts me too."

The Victorious was silent.

"Same goes for me." the Tragedy Doctor said, "It feels like I'm reliving it, seeing how Earth became in my universe. But I don't want to give up nonetheless. I'm hopeful that I'll manage to fix it."

"I mean, look at me!" the Spider Doctor pointed to her spider lower body. "I regenerated into a monster! I can't travel anymore in the TARDIS and get forced to live in a cave on an island on a weird planet! Do I look like I'm complaining and want to commit genocide?!"

The group's words seemed to work on the Victorious, who was silent and kept looking down to the floor.

"Grandfather." Susan said, "Look at me."

The Victorious looked at his granddaughter. "What?"

"What you did was horrible, killing all those people…But, I think you need to hear these words: I forgive you."

The former Doctor was shocked. "W-What…?" He repeated feebly.

"You think all the suffering and deaths of your friends were because of you, but it's not your fault! You tried your best to protect them!" Susan said. "Even with what you did in that "Time War"...I still forgive you, I'm sure the others would too." She smiled.

the Victorious suddenly hugged Susan. "I'm…I'm sorry…" He said weakly, as he started weeping.

She was startled by the sudden hug, but the teenage Time Lady quickly calmed down and wiped her grandfather's tears.

The other looked at the scene smiling, happy that everyone got resolved without a fight.

"Great, now, sorry for ruining the mood but, would you mind freeing us?" the Spider Doctor said.

the Victorious broke the hug and freed the other Doctors, who rushed to their companions.

"Alice! Clara!" Theta hugged his Demon friends. "Thank goodness you're okay!"

"The feeling is mutual, Great Theta." Alice smiled. Clara giggled.

Suddenly, everything started rumbling.

"W-What's going on?!" Hikari panicked.

"An Earthquake?!" Kate said.

"It must be the gashes! Reality is getting unstable!" the Twelfth Doctor explained.

"We must stop that machine at once!" the First Doctor said.

the Victorious ran towards the Multiversal Gate and used the console. "I'm reprogramming the Gate, I'll send you all back to your home universes and then I'll destroy it.

"What about you?!" Conan asked.

"Irrelevant, just save yourself! All of this it's my fault, it's my duty to fix it."

"Well then, I suppose it's a goodbye," Theta said to the others. "It's been fun to meet myself from other universes.” He glanced at Susan. “I hope I’ll still have you as my granddaughter in my universe.”

Susan smiled.

"Yeah, I haven't got an adventure like this in a while…" the Spider Doctor said.

"Same, this was better than that hellhole of my universe." the Warrior said.

"Considering what our lives are like, this might not be the last time we have a Multiverse adventure." the Child Doctor said.

"It has been a pleasure to us, too," Alice said.

"Yup! It's nice to meet Thety's friends!" Clara said.

"I'd say this was the weirdest adventure we faced, eh, Shiho?" Conan said.

"And it won't be the last," Shiho said.

"Alright! I'm ready to fight those Cybermen again!" Hikari said.

"Good luck, everyone," Susan said.

"Very well. Victorious! Send us home, hmm!" the First Doctor said.

The Victorious pressed the button and in a matter of seconds, the TARDIS groups disappeared.

"Now, as for you, Kate Lethbridge-Stewart…" the Victorious said. "There's an emergency pod in the hallway, use it and save yourself."

"What about you?"

"Don't worry, just go!" He ordered, and Kate obliged.

He rushed to the console and waited for Kate to evacuate. He stood in front of the self-destruction button.

"Need a hand?" Missy entered the room.

"Missy…" the Victorious was shocked. "What are you doing here?!"

"Do you really think I'll let you kill yourself?" Missy said, "I told you back in the Dead Zone, a universe without you would be awfully boring, so if you're gonna kill yourself, I'll go down with you."

The Victorious was touched by his frenemy's comment. "Alright then."

Missy came next to the Victorious and held his hand, ready to press the button.

“Thanks,” he said.

“No problem.” Missy shrugged. “Now, let’s end this, eh, Doctor?”

“You’re right.” the Victo-No, the Doctor said. “ALLONS-Y!”

The two pressed the button, and a white light engulfed the tower, which disappeared without a trace.

Kate, luckily, managed to escape in time and the pod landed in UNIT’s HQs, who was rescued by the Scientific Advisor Osgood, along with the other soldiers.

At the same time, every single Cyberman on Earth suddenly got deactivated. It was over, the humans had won.

----------------------------------------

The First Doctor woke up in the TARDIS.

"Hmm?" He looked around. "We did it…We did it!" He laughed.

Susan woke up. "Grandfather…?"

"Ah, child, we did it! We're back in the TARDIS!" he said

"That's wonderful!" Susan happily said. "Do you think the other will return home, too?"

"Well, it's very likely." the First Doctor said, "Let's resume what we left, hmm?"

"Yeah!"

The First Doctor was right, every Doctor and their companions managed to return safe and sound and resumed their adventures. They still remember what happened before fondly and will in the future.

----------------------------------------

And so does one particular person.

In the future, in the National Gallery of London, a tall old man with blue eyes and curly grey hair wearing a brown suit and having a striking resemblance to the Doctor's fourth incarnation was looking at a painting, depicting the Doctor’s multiversal adventure,

“Oh, yes, that one!” He talked to himself. “That was quite the ride, wasn’t it? Meeting myself from another universe, too bad it was the last time I’d do such a thing, it was all over...” he walked away, holding his support stick. He then stopped and thinking of something, he grinned.

“Oh, no, wait, now I remember...It was far for being all over!”
