Scene 20:

Negotiate. It's the only way you can think of to get out of this mess. You lie down on the ground and stretch your arm under the seats, retrieving the detonator. Stand up, face the guerrillas with the detonator in front of you, and warn them to press it if they approach or continue firing. You trust that the revolutionaries' sense of self-preservation will stop the bloodshed.

A shot rings out and hits you in the shoulder. Two more come, one hits you in the arm and separates it from your torso, another one hits you in the mouth, bursting your jaw. The detonator falls next to you. Your blurred vision is pinned to the ceiling. Is this how you will die...?

An obvious miscalculation. People crazy enough to storm an atomic train are inoculated against death threats. You smile, or rather you form an involuntary grimace.

See Melody out of the corner of your eye, and you understand that the fate that awaits her at the hands of the guerrillas will be horrifying. With what little strength you have left, your thumb presses the button.

Final 6: Bomb Voyage.
