As someone from the modern era, Sei did not wish to remain idle. Thus, once the matter at hand was resolved, he immediately decided to experiment with his divine authorities.
Through the use of his [Dragon Authority], he was able to induce that there was a collection-grade artifact on Nana's body.
‘Should I get her to give it to me? I still don't know the effects of devouring a mysterious artifact anyways’.
As he was thinking, Nana moved away from her children and pulled out the silver mirror from underneath her jacket.
‘Hold on, now that I think about it. This world doesn't seem to be in the modern era nor the middle ages. However, it seems to be around the nineteen hundreds?’
Nana shook her head, then carefully placed it beside their makeshift bed made of long cloth.
Sei's eyes were filled with curiosity as he gazed at Nana's movements.
‘Nevermind, I don't think I'll ask for it’.
Through the induction of his [Dragon Authority], he had long known the ability it had. It was an artifact meant for long distance communication. As for its limit, he did not know yet.
The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
‘Still, I wonder what their background is. After all, artifacts aren't so common that everyone could just have it if they had the money to…well, nevermind. Collection-grade artifacts should be quite common’.
Mysterious artifacts were split into three grades, namely; collection, treasure, and forbidden.
Collection-grade artifacts had simple abilities and were quite easy to find or artificially create. Well, at least compared to the other grades.
Treasure-grade artifacts had decent abilities but in turn, they also had stronger side-effects compared to collection-grade. The latter only has cooldown time for each use, while the former might put the user in a temporarily or permanently weakened state.
‘As for forbidden artifacts? I don't think I could find one unless I scoured every nook and cranny of a large city. So I'll think about it later’.
‘Now then, since the [Dragon Authority] is out of the question should I use my [Angel Authority]?’
‘Why not? In the name of scie—cough, doesn't that sound quite hypocritical? Well, it doesn't really matter’.
Since he was done thinking, he called out to Nana and asked her to kneel in front of the shrine.
The latter nervously followed his orders.
Upon seeing this, Sei's right eye immediately glowed brighter as it emitted the [Angel Authority]'s symbol—An angel with 18 wings.
The divine dragon rune floated above his palms, then with a flick of his finger it fell on Nana—or more specifically, her soul.
In his vision, the divine dragon rune was slowly imprinted in Nana's soul.
“Ahnnn~”
Nana accidentally let out a moan as inexplicable power started flowing inside of her. Then her face went blank in one moment, then returned in another.
She quickly recollected herself, then clasped her hands to pray.
“Oh Celestial Dragon God, I cannot express my gratitude enough with this magnitude of a blessing that you have given me”.
In her mind, her newfound ability's effects were echoing.
[Divine Rune: Life Dragon Force
Effect 1 - Gain immense life force, comparable to that of a dragon.
Effect 2 - Slowly gather life force from the surroundings.
Effect 3 - Transfer one's life force to the target. ]
As displayed, one of the functions of the [Angel Authority] was to give divine runes to his subjects. Upon the holder's death, or when he chooses to, the divine rune is returned to him.
‘This should help her better take care of her children, and maybe even her descendants. Although, I don't know if this will truly be a blessing or a curse for her. Hopefully, a blessing’.
