Chapter 4: Getting out of Abyss

Chapter 4: Getting out of Abyss

As the strange blue grass entered his stomach, Max experienced a searing pain that compelled him to cry out,

"Aaahh, Aaah, Damit not again!" roared Max.

Succumbing to the agony, he passed out once more, overtaken by the mysterious effects of the strange blue grass.

Half a day later, Max regained consciousness, lying on his back with a sense of helplessness etched on his face.

Despite being unable to see the sky, he turned his head to survey his surroundings. Gazing towards the stream, he contemplated the uncertain fate that awaited him. It was in this moment of reflection that Max made a startling revelation – he couldn't feel any pain in his body.

Shocked by this unexpected development, Max sat up and cautiously moved his arms, confirming their newfound healing. Examining his once-broken legs, he attempted to stand and, to his amazement, found himself capable of walking without any discomfort. Overjoyed by this discovery, Max began to jump, thoroughly confirming the miraculous healing of all his injuries. However, this wave of happiness soon gave way to tears as Max recollected the tragedies and pain he had endured in his pursuit of light amid darkness.

After a moment of emotional release, Max walked to the stream's bank to wash his face. Freed from immediate danger and pain, he could now think clearly. His attention was drawn to the luminous stone he had previously picked to illuminate his path. Despite the pain he experienced at that time, he hadn't had the chance to examine it closely until now.

Picking up the familiar fist-sized stone emitting an aqua-colored light with a radius of one meter, Max took a moment to scrutinize it. Recalling the healing properties of the strange blue grass, he connected the dots between the luminous stone and his recovery. Armed with the newfound knowledge, Max, using the stone to light his way, retraced his steps to find the elusive grass.

After thorough searching, he managed to collect only two stalks of the strange blue grass, both growing exclusively on the stream bank. With these precious finds tucked away in his pocket, Max contemplated his next steps, determined to find a way out of the Abyss.

"It's impossible to climb up, so the only viable option is to follow the stream," Max concluded. With his decision made, he began walking along the stream bank, tracing its course in the same direction it flowed.

As Max followed the stream, he pondered the recent events that had befallen him.

"Who could have framed me? The crown prince or the 3rd prince?" Max mused.

In the kingdom, the intense rivalry between the crown prince, son of the current queen, and the 3rd prince, a prodigious talent at the age of 20, vying for the throne was widely known.

The crown prince held the advantage of royal lineage and cultivation at the 3rd level Earth King realm, gaining support from many ministers.

On the other hand, the 3rd prince, despite being the son of a concubine, boasted superior cultivation, already reaching the 5th level Earth Realm at a young age, garnering support from influential families and sects.

As the 5th prince, a new contender, joined the competition, he became a target for both the crown prince and the 3rd prince. However, the motive behind targeting the 5th prince's horse remained a mystery to Max.

Unable to find answers, Max shifted his focus to contemplating his next steps after escaping the Abyss.

"I hope the place I emerge isn't in the Water Barge Kingdom," Max muttered to himself.

Continuing his journey, Max walked for days, periodically resting and drinking water from the stream. His only sustenance was the emergency stash of strange blue grass, left untouched.

After three days, Max spotted a distant light, lifting his spirits. Running toward it, he arrived at the source and was greeted by a breathtaking sight—the sky and the sun shining brightly. He found himself standing at the mouth of a cave, with the stream now cascading as a waterfall and flowing out into a forest below.

Standing about 30 meters above the ground, Max gazed at the unfamiliar forest, unaware of its kingdom or location. However, his immediate concern was how to descend. Surveying the surroundings, he realized the lack of any means to descend, ruling out climbing down as a viable option.

Due to the constant cascade of the waterfall, the stones had become slippery, and the water pressure made climbing down impossible for Max.

With no other viable option, Max decided to leap directly into the lake beneath the waterfall. Aware of the uncertainty regarding the lake's depth, he extracted a stalk of the strange blue grass and placed it in his mouth for emergency use. Another stalk went deep into his pocket, topped with the luminous stone to secure it.

Taking a deep breath, Max prepared to jump, and without further hesitation, he plunged into the lake, creating a substantial splash. Contrary to his concerns, the water proved to be deep enough, sparing him from any injuries.

Swimming back to the surface, Max hastily retrieved the grass from his mouth, breathing a sigh of relief. Overwhelmed with joy for escaping the abyss, Max couldn't contain his laughter, celebrating his newfound freedom by swimming in the lake.

However, his mirth was short-lived as he noticed a large water eel approaching. Instantly realizing the impending danger,

Max thought, "Shit," and swiftly swam towards the lake's shore, exerting all his strength.

The eel steadily closed in, prompting Max to intensify his swimming efforts. Just as he reached the shore, the eel opened its mouth, seemingly ready to consume him. Fortunately, Max managed to evade the threat, already out of the water by the time the eel snapped its jaws shut.
