Chapter 2: Invasion

Hugo (as First-Person View)

Bergskaer island in Finland

Once we got up, everyone included me were gearing up before they, as intruders, shows up into our territory. We called them intruders because they are trespassing without a notice.

What we have for all of us are either pistols, submachine guns, or rifles for light ammunition carrier without vest protection.

As for me, I loaded up with my rifle with a scope, a decent scope, so I can look through closer than everyone else.

“You’re all ready for this?!” Sigurd asked.

“Anything but dying.” Said Felix, quite sleepy when he tried to put a stick magazine into the gun chamber.

While they were packing up for war, there are three things we need to know before the war breaks out.

First of all, to those who on ground floor, Darrick and the most of mercenaries are guarding around the building.

The second goes to Takuma’s fireteam, they'll be assigned as “lookout duty” on top of the rooftop balcony. With the scope attached on their rifles, they can simply take them out in a long-range distance just what we need.

As for last, Me, Danny, Felix, Sigurd, and some mercenaries in first floor. Our role is the same as the first one, but the only advantage is we’re above them.

Now that I mentioned the three things, me and Sigurd are in charge as command to ensure everyone to be guided, moralised, and most of all, go home in victorious.

“Alright... weeal set...” Danny yawned, chambered his gun to load a bullet round by itself.

As soon as everyone was ready for action, we heard lots of gunshot were drawn closer and closer. Which was then we saw flashing lights in front of us, foreseeing to the forest.

“What on earth were they firing at?” Asked Felix, where we cannot see where they shot because there are bunch of trees blocking our view in the night-time.

“I don’t know. But stay frosty, mate.” I sternly replied.

We seriously waited for any of them to come out, so we can take them out by wave after wave. Until then.

It stopped.

Everything seemed to be quiet, incredibly quiet... we had no idea what just happened now.

“What the? Is it over already?!” 1st Mercenary spoke, lowering his gun.

“If it is, then why didn’t they pick the call?”

Felix is right. It would make no sense if the whole thing was a prank without letting us know in advance. Oh what I saying, why would I even let them do such thing?

Wait, now I think of it. If my calculation about their equipment are correct, each patrol’s unit had one submachine gun and two magazines with full ammunitions in it. If I’m not mistaken, then…

“HEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLP!!!” Someone screamed for help, fleeing somewhere else rather than regrouping here.

Perhaps they used up all ammunitions and ran out so easily. They could either be MIA or KIA.

“Guys! A movement! Twelve o’clock!” One of mercenary had noticed something on his sight.

However, I also noticed through from my rifle scope where those whoever approaching, it’s a mass movement who were trying go through the barrier, way aggressive.

“They’re attacking! Open fire!!!” Darrick ordered, started to spray them up with his machine gun.

Without a question, we then, open fire to those who were approaching by. However, there was a main flaw from all of us, we had no idea what we were shooting at.

“Did we hit them?!”

“It’s too dark! How am I supposed to know!”

Danny wondered if he hits them with his gun. And Felix was blinded from its muzzle flashes while firing at them at the same time.

Most of us couldn’t see clearly if they get shot or not. Not only just because of muzzle flashes whilst fighting in the dark. It because small weapons like pistol are not meant for long-ranged combat, only for short-ranged combat.

Even though we have the long-ranged weapons like rifles, we still cannot be reckless and careless because of two disadvantages I mentioned earlier.

Fortunately for us. one of them from the rooftop, tossed a handheld flare at the front of the barrier. Reason they did that so it can increase visibility to lighten the area up.

“Keep firing!” Sigurd yelled.

We again continued firing against the horde at all cost. However, none of us thought wondering why they didn’t fight back. Instead, they just went straight forward.

Are they out of their mind? Or are they kamikaze in turtles? Just who on earth are they really?

----------------------------------------

Some minutes later, we did our best for what we got against the horde of intruders. No matter how we can stop them, they kept going even though they got shot many times.

“Argh! That son of a witch!” 1st Mercenary screamed, his hand got burned from the heated handguard part.

“You got to be shitting me. How are they still alive!?” 2nd Mercenary shouted, dumping the whole ammunitions on each singularity.

Unfortunately for us, the horde eventually breached the barrier. They keep coming for us. As for us, we almost burned the whole ammunition, leaving only a few handful of magazines for ourselves.

“Fall back. Fall back!”

From the outside, they retreated from the horde back to the building.

I continuously shot many times after they crossed the barrier, trying not let any of them touch our base no matter what. But, Clicked! “Curses...”

I need to reload but I only have three rounds left. Alright, make it count I guess.

As soon I chamber my remaining rounds left, I caught a glimpse from my rifle scope where the flare lightened next to the horde.

The horde seemed to be... quite hideous based on their look. They don’t seem to be in good condition either. Did something happened to them while we weren’t aware of? After they got shot many times from us?

“AHHH!”

For some reason, I suddenly startled by someone’s scream out of blue.

I honestly don’t know what’s all about. Despite my curiosity, I had to look outside from the window to see where the scream was. Didn’t care less if I get shot or not. When I kept looking around for a short period of time, I found something...

...horrifying.

“AAAHH!!! PLEASE STOP! AAAAAHHH!!!”

Someone being attacked by who?! The intruders?! If it was, all I saw was one of them got attacked and started to be... eaten alive!?

What the hell? What the fuck is this… This isn’t what it supposed to happen. Why they just… started devouring by eating him up alive?! I couldn’t imagine how frightening it is, such a horror and pain he was experiencing through.

If this wasn’t enough, it’s getting bloodier when they started to scream right away.

“h-h-HEELP!”

“RUN! EVERYMAN FOR THEMSELVES!!!”

“HEEELLLP!”

“AAAAHHHHH!!!”

Not only people from the outside, they also inside in our base as well. They’re on panic after what the horde did to them. They couldn’t do anything but run away for their own safety, which lowered our morale to stay in this building any longer.

It doesn’t look good for us to be honest.

“Sigurd! I don’t know what is going on! But we have to leave this place!” 1st Mercenary said, quite stressful after witnessing all of it.

“He’s right! Not only we ran out! They kept crawling like A BUNCH OF MANIACS!!!” It frightened Danny to lose his mind if it keeps up to it.

However, Sigurd himself, doesn’t seem he wanted to leave this place, yet he comes up with…

“Guys relax! At least they can put up their sleeve, right?!” Sigurd tried to simmer them down and hoped the frontline to handle it somehow.

But then, whoever kicked the door open from the stair, was none other but Darrick and his few survivors with their distressful call for us.

“Guys, we’re in deep shit! Not only they’re in main room we alsolostcontrolasweeellll!!!” One of survivors stormed in and so the rest.

One of them slammed the door too harsh, pulling a door handle downward to be locked properly.

While Sigurd was left in shock, someone knocked the door, very terrifying. If they’re the last group to visit here, it means the horde is already there. As response, some of us had to bring the strongest objects to barricade the door before they break the door..

“How about now?” Said Danny.

“On second thought, yeah, let’s get the fuck out of here!”

Sigurd had to realise there was no hope to stay in this base anymore. The only option now was to evacuate as soon as possible. Except, there is one problem.

“Oh thank goodness! Couldn’t imagine if we stay here any longer.”

Danny sighed, till then Darrick butted their conversation and said.

“Uhm yeah, about that… How’d we get out? We’re trapped by the way.”

He hit the nail if we didn't know, the horde had already surrounded us outside the base.

“Oh, then… F-F-F-FUUUUUUUUUUCK~!!!”

----------------------------------------

After awful fighting experience with the horde, all remaining survivors were packing up with their leftover. As for us, we were discussing a new strategy plan to escape the island. Only this island. The rest is not decided yet till we all left the island together.

“So anyway, we send the person as a bait, to lure the horde away from us. And then, the rest of us will meet up to the west coast. What you guys think?” Sigurd explained.

Reason why we planned to go west coast because all of our boats are parked there. And that way, we can use those boats as an escape route if we’re lucky to get our hands on them. If it still floats around of course.

“Mmm sounds... fine by me, I guess.” Darrick has no reason to deny the plan while most of us has already considered to do so… By most of us, I mean Danny was not happy with the plan.

“Guys. I did NOT sign up to be a bait! Why do I have to be a bait?!” Another reason why we selected Danny as bait because he’s the only one who can run faster than us, not even policemen couldn't catch up with him.

“Don’t worry! You’ll be fine!” Darrick reassured him to not worry, he immediately doubted him for being sarcastic.

“As I said, there’s no way I’ll be...!”

“You can get ‘Mega Zario Bro 2’ if you’re doing it!”

“Deal!” The Danish boy has accepted Felix’s bribery once again ladies and gentlemen.

“Now we have him as bait. What are we going to do once we escaped the island?” Felix asked.

“One, we either should call for our reinforcement to cover-up the whole thing. Or two, we let the government to take care of it while we. …Are going to play hide-and-seek until we’re out of hook.” Sigurd replied from what he suggested.

“Understandable, I’m going to tell them about it... Oh yeah, I forgot...” Felix had just realised as soon he approached the barricaded door, he forgot the whole entrance was blocked because of the horde we been dealing with.

Why would he… oh right, I clearly had forgot someone.

“Thanks for your late care, mister.” The one who spoke was above us from the hatched floor. It was none other than Takuma and his fireteam.

“What the! How long have you been there all day?” Asked Darrick, surprisingly as he clearly forgotten about them.

“We been stuck here for all day since ‘they’ showed up. So what else can we do?” Takuma replied, they could hop themselves onto the first floor, but they rather stay up there and barricade the door for safety reason.

“Oh right, he was trained to be sneaky after all. How could I have not known…” I mumbled quietly not underestimate him.

“By the way, are we ready to leave soon?” Asked Takuma. “I’m not sure if this little fortress can hold them off any longer.”

“Don’t worry. I’m one hundred percent sure that my girl will keep us safe!” Darrick relied this building confidentially.

Till then, the barricaded door itself, collapsed instantly, creating a hole gap near the door entrance. leaving us more vulnerable in front of the horde… And surprise surprise, the horde typically walked into the hole gap and fell also to the ground floor.

“At least they aren’t that smart.”

“Just take this thing will yah?”

Danny felt relieved and took megaphone speaker from Felix where he stood next to him. And without any further, we had to act quickly before we all become their dinner to them.

“Right, I’m all set. But where should I lure them at?” Asked Danny, stretching out to warm-up a bit.

“My compass tells me where the horde came out from the south. So I suggest you should lure them to the east while we heading to the west. Once you do that, go around the coast to the west and meet up there. You know where the rest of boats are, right?”

“Uh yeah, of course. But what if I get lost? And don’t know where to go?”

“Here, take this.” I handed a copy of my compass to him. “But if you’re unable to come out alive. We’ll see you on your funeral.” I joked.

“Ha-ha, very funny…” It is a bit insult to him because there wasn’t time for a laughing matter while we’re in verge of dying.

On the other hand, however, some of them were equipped with handmade shield and long rod to shove the intruders back into the hole gap again. When the intruders showed up again, they finally use their own brain by stepping aside of the hole gap. Do they even use their brain at all?

“Sorry interrupting but,” Felix pardoned. “If there aren’t any boats available in the west, then do we have an alternative solution to back this up?” He asked if we have a plan B or not.

Of course we have plan B prepared in case. "Then we cross another island at north-west. The one which is within twenty metres or so.”

“Wait, hold on.” Alarmed Felix. “You mean we have to swim through an island? You do aware it will freeze us to death, right?”

“Yeah, I know. But it is worth taking the risk. If not, feel free to stay here then.”

There aren’t any safer option that doesn’t include a single casualty when fleeing. If there aren’t any boats left for us then we swim to the another island, despite knowing the risk of getting cold could slow us down and die eventually.

Regarding the situation we’re in, Felix knew and had no other choice but gave in with the plan we come up with.

“Guess we have a plan B then.” Danny said, still warming up.

“Alright, let’s get started.” Said Darrick, holding a radio.

While everyone was preparing for action, I noticed a person who was in front of the hole gap where he looked down onto the ground floor. I wonder what’s he up to despite his task was to shove the horde back to the hole again.

But then, I found disturbing about him.

“Arvid, is that really you?!”

He said when recognising someone from through below the hole gap where his friend named Arvid. If he was referring to. I think he’s one of ours who was supposed to be watching in his tree-house at south. For some reason, I don’t know why person like him was hanging around with the horde all about.

“Arvid, hey! You just can’t believe what just happened ago! … Arvid?”

He was quite happy to chat with Arvid for while but, he wasn’t aware when Arvid was acting strange when he acted like the horde would do.

At the same time, I also noticed Sigurd came over next to him and looked down onto the hole gap. Sigurd took his time to analyse the situation there, not sure what was he thinking about.

He then realised and said. “Stig. I don’t know if you don’t believe such thing but, that person is, is... is infiltrating the enemy. Yeah, that’s right! He’s infiltrating the enemy!”

Wait, what? Why would you… Oh I see where it coming from.

“Really?! That’s… amazing!” It amazed the person till he asked. “Wait, why is my friend looks like he’s attacking alongside with them?”

“Uh, well Stig uhm. That is… exactly what he was doing! He’s trying to gather information while blending in with them! Now how about you let him do his own thing! You don’t want him to get exposed right in front of them, yeah?”

“Oh shoot! Your right! Hey, you doing great! Keep it up with whatever you do!”

Sadly, it is a pity for the person, Stig, to be deceived by Sigurd because he didn’t want to convince about his friend is no longer our side. If he did, he be in denial and disbelief that could face inconvenience afterword. Instead, he made the right call.

Now here comes the bizarre one. His friend especially. I don’t know what it gains from infiltrating the enemy for. For what I know, he been trying to take a piece of us, and fell off from the hole-gap so easily.

It feels like he’s no longer himself. He acted like what the horde would do. I don’t get it. Nothing makes sense at all.

But the building we felt, seemed to be quite shaky and was about to collapse very soon. This case can wait, there are lot of things I cannot provide with answers yet.

“What’re you waiting for!? Go fuck’em around!”

“Alright-alright, gees-us!”

Darrick pushed Danny’s back to hurry up because we don’t have much time to stay here scramble all day. And so, the evacuation begins.

Before Danny was about to jump off from the building, Darrick placed a radio on the window and switched the music on, attracting the horde to gather all up at the main entrance.

As for us, we get into our positions ready.

“Guys, if we cannot get out here alive. At least we show ‘our worth’ to those bastards, right?” Sigurd slid on top of his pistol when he stated around us.

We agreed. And what does he mean by that?

Well, he referred about his past when he stated, ‘We refused to be recognised as a worthless human being by the history themselves, unless we show our worth to those selfish bastards.’ I was told right in front of me when he desired becoming a politician to resolve around the world as a hero. That was the biggest slap of his face when he was viewed, as a joke in front of everyone of the society.

I understand he wanted not just only for his own people, he wanted to help everyone as well. But to do that, he needs money and cooperation to make it work. Without it, he be useless on his own. From today now on, it still isn’t the outcome from what he desired yet.

Back to us, as for Danny, he finally jumped off from the building and landed on rough bushes where the backyard is. I saw he ran next to the horde were stretching their arms to the radio.

“Alright, once the horde cleared the path. Be there as soon as...” Before Sigurd was about to finish his sentence, he…

“Is someone cooking burned bacon in middle of this?”

“Did someone cook bacon for me! I’m starving!”

Darrick jumped on us where he thought anyone was preparing his favourite meal for him. I looked down on him in disappointment. I began sniffing if anything comes into my mind.

But then. I realised it wasn’t the smell of burned bacon I was hoping for.

“GUYS!!! THIS BUILDING IS ON FIRE!!! GET DA HELL OUT OF DAR!!!” The one who screamed, sounded like Danny has found something horrifying and had to warn us.

Unfortunately, we were a bit too late to react because the building itself, was about to collapse right ahead to lean slowly.

“Shit! Hang on!” Darrick had to embrace himself by sliding downward to a wall. Same for us when we tried to find something to hang on tight to minimise the fall damage.

Until then, the building has been slammed to the ground, which caused to crumble so bad where I ended up losing my grip to be floated right away and get knocked off by a wooden log.

----------------------------------------

I’m not entirely sure if the plan works, or a total mess. Since after I experienced the crash, I do not know how long I been unconscious for. But I do know, I enjoy listening the sound of grilling fire, the voice of someone’s scream, the melody of gunfire, and what am I saying. Am I out of my damn mind?

I should wake up now, not writing a song! Damn, the wooden log sure knocked me out that good.

And so where was I? Oh yeah. I began to regain my conscious. So I slowly open my eyes up where my vision was a bit blurry at first.

“*cough* *cough*!” I breathed a terrible airborne fire. I looked around where I was being piled up with shattered objects around me. Fortunately, I am not fully stuck but surrounded.

I also noticed something through a hole gap where it could lead somewhere else. Without a doubt, I started to crawl toward to the hole with my full strength before this place will burn me to crisp. Once I reached myself to the hole, it was too dark at first, but then.

I am outside of the building.

I kept crawling on the ground away from the fire ASAP. But I stop where I crawled upon which was hurting me. I use my right hand on beneath me for inspection. It stings me and picked it up to see what it look like.

“Wait, where did that come from?” I asked, holding a piece of shattered glass that came from nowhere. It feels this piece seemed to be hot, a bit hotter than the building itself.

It doesn’t belong to the building or nor it belongs the window. The window was always left open, to close it, we use wired leaf as curtain. The only one I come up with was none other than...

Which was then I realised in shock. But not too shock. I found out it belongs to a “flame lamp” we used to brighten the area at the night time. So how did it link to the fire?

The suspicion of this case would be most likely the horde who may knocked the lamp from its process and started the fire by itself.

Now I understood the case, what should I do with the fire? …Ah, the hell with it. I can’t do anything about it because not only the fire is unstoppable. This hideout was already compromised. And instead stopping it, I need to destroy everything including this hideout and the horde. Then I shift the blame by staging this as typical natural disaster. And the reason why I need to do this was…

“Hey, someone... please help us!” Someone called for help when I was mumbling myself. I’d figure out in fact I’m not alone out either.

But hey. If anyone found out about this, they come over as witnesses. If we get caught by them, we be forced to confess. Even if we can lie the heck out of it, it won’t do any good but harm. They won’t kindly let us go that easily.

But for now, this has to wait. Forgetting my own objective, I can’t stay here all day and ignoring their plead. Despite this, I had to move on regardless my injury I been through. Having my pistol on my side in case, then I moved forward to see what lies ahead of me.

And there we go, this is how we ended up here. Now let’s move on to see what happen next.

Once I reached to them, turns out it wasn’t any of named characters I knew but nameless personnel I meet, aiding another nameless person on the ground unconscious.

“Oh thank god you’re here. Can you please help him out!” A 1st Mercenary said, pressing both hands on the 2nd Mercenary’s chests down as an attempt to revive him.

“No-no, you’re doing absolutely wrong. Let me handle it.” I sternly noticed he pressed his rib down ridiculously hard, to look like he was about to break his bone by force.

While he handed him next to me, remembering what I taught accorded to CPR. So I held my right-forehand on his breastbone, pressing his breastbone for a few inches, wait and repeat.

“Wait the minute! I heard they can revive him by mouth-to-mouth. Can you--”

“How about you kiss him now while I don’t?!”

He suggested me by performing CPR with mouth-to-mouth… Yeah, no offence. I rather let him die than putting my lips on him. He backed away as he doesn’t want to share his homosexual intercourse with him. I looked at him how pathetic he was.

Anyway I continued performing CPR by hands-only but still didn’t respond on its own. The only thing what I can think of was leave him here. Carrying him all the way there would be too burden for us as the horde could be here at any moment.

I should convince him, might be hard but it’s better than doing nothing.

Suddenly, he started to regain on its own before I say anything. I cancelled the idea thankfully.

“*Cough* *cough*!”

“Oh my god, can’t believe you made it! I thought you were goner!”

2nd Mercenary regaining his conscious back while 1st Mercenary was left in shock.

“*Cough* *cough* Holy shit. I’m alive! Jesus Christ! Thank you so much!” Coughed 2nd Mercenary, look very grateful.

“No problem, mate. It’s better that way than sharing my lips with you.”

“Wait what?”

“Anyway where are we exactly?”

I suddenly dodged his awkwardness by discussing a new topic like I didn’t recognise the area after the crash. Where the building was collapsed and burning down it seems.

Oh right. I looked around the area again and we somehow got out alive from dying.

However, 1st Mercenary seemed to be quite nervous when he kept looking around nowhere.

“Well, glad to see you okay but. Where the hell are they?! Did they just left us to die here?!”

He had overlooked the area to find any survivor but me.

“I don’t know, mate. It happening so fast that... *cough* *cough*. Have to think for themselves...” My throat felt dried as much I wanted to take a sip of glass of water in it.

“In that case, let’s get the hell out of here before they… oh no.”

Oh no indeed, the horde of intruders is back, not only a few intruders popped out from the building, even more showed up from the forest as well.

Did they just pop out right now for being loud?

“Shit, let’s go!”

“Wait, I can still hear the gunshot! We need to regroup with the others!”

“We’re about to get surrounded! And what gunshot?!”

They can’t hear any gunshot but moaning intruders. I do had heard the gunfire ago, but no gunshot were fired within on us. Is everything on my head? Wait no! I don’t have time for that! We need to escape first!

“Alright-alright, let’s just get the hell out of here!”

“Good idea!”

Then we took the clear path to somewhere else before the horde catching upon us.

----------------------------------------

In the forest, the fire is getting stronger. So strong which cause to spread faster.

“Where the hell are we?!” 1st Mercenary asked.

“Well… God dammit!” I swiftly grabbed from my pocket which only shown that my compass was already left broken.

All three of us did our best to escape this place as soon as possible. We then ran into a blockade instead. Those pile of logs were blocking our path.

“What the?! Did the fire cause this? Or we didn’t water those trees?!” 2nd Mercenary shocked.

“Nevermind that! Let’s go around them!” I shouted, looking around for the best shortcut I could find.

I ended up finding the horde instead. This time, the horde were right in front of us, surrounding against us. We were taken up by surprise and stepped further back cautiously. We then drawn the pistol immediately and fired right away to the horde.

However, even though we hit them or not. It wasn’t enough firepower to stop them because they kept advancing on us.

“Why can’t you just die already?!” 2nd Mercenary scolded in fear, firing his pistol gun rapidly to whoever gets closer to him.

Knowing it isn’t working, I need to realise we need to retreat again.

“Guys, let’s retreat!” I yelled.

They both got my call, however, the fire scorched through my eyes, irking me to cry like an onion for cutting off as a punishment. While it burned my eyes temporally. I had to lift my glasses on top of my forehead to brush my eyes roughly.

And until then…

“AAHH!!!” Someone cried out.

When I opened my eyes up, 2nd Mercenary was bitten on his right leg and fell off to the ground by a crawling intruder who held him down.

“Shit…”

Regarding my eyes haven’t recovered yet, I’ll try to save him by firing them off but, as soon I aimed at the intruder, I couldn’t… I couldn't because it was too late for him to get piled up by the horde and starts eating him out alive.

Even if I did, I wouldn’t be effective and get eaten by now. So I step back away from them.

1st Mercenary was so frightened and couldn’t hold them off any longer. But then, the horde had finally caught him down and starts eating him alive.

“AAAAAHHHHH~!!!!!” He cried out so loud it was too painful for him. “GOD! PLEASE! HEEELLP!!!” He clicked his pistol many times. Wishing to end this madness rather than facing fatal death.

Despite the wish I heard from him.

I just left.

I just left him there, behind.

Leaving him the moment to see me running off over my selfish act.

He meet his fate, a cruel fate.

After witnessing all this, I was so terrified and the fear has overwhelmed all over my head.

It wasn’t supposed to happen. It shouldn’t meant to happen, it shouldn't be.

My brain was demoralised in madness. While I was running away, I don’t know where I am and where to go. I suddenly got lost again. I ran at the same path I wasn’t aware I was running from.

I found the intruder.

Okay, all I need to do was step aside from it. So I bypassed it, simple it is.

But because of my stupidity, I stumbled myself to fall off for not balancing my legs. All because of not prioritising myself straight. I couldn't stand up, so I crawled backward out of the way in fear.

But then, the intruder had fully charged right in front of me, holding me down with its brute strength. Luckily for me, I managed to grabbed their neck and right wrist in time before holding me down.

However, the only concern was the left arm, I’m afraid it going to scratch me but it doesn't looks like the intruder trying to scratch me or nor hurt me with it. Just grabbed my face tightly. Which was then, I took the opportunity to grab the pistol the one I dropped after I fell. Leaving the right arm to go freely.

Once I grabbed the pistol, clicked! It jammed… bloody jammed!

As much it pissed me off, I swiftly turned my pistol into 180 degree and smashed it head, many times with a pistol grip like a hammer. Kicking it off aside and finally being freed from it.

The intruder was still intact and was about attack me again. Unfortunately for the intruder, I took the opportunity by grabbing it’s right shoulder back to the ground. And then, I began to smash its head many times till it won’t move again. I was so upset how they treated me. Humiliating me or much worse than that. So I blindly continued to smash like a maniac.

After losing counts on it. I stopped, suddenly realized it went too far.

The intruder’s head was shattered to pieces, it won’t bug it seems. I then sighed in relief.

All I need to do was stand up and leave. Finally, I can finally leave this place in peace.

However,

“Huh… Why? Why can’t I…!?” I muttered.

I couldn’t stand up. For some reason, I couldn’t stand up! My legs shakes on its own, seeing my hands were covered in blood. It was cold… my face, it was too cold.

Am I sick or something? I-I… don’t know anymore… I started to lose my mind now.

Suddenly, I heard someone was approaching. I don’t know who it was but I need to hide… so I quickly looked around to find where to hide. Apparently, I found just what I needed. I swiftly crawled through under the leaves where the tree is.

To those who were approaching, it was the horde, which brought my instinct right. Luckily, they didn’t see me where the leaves covered me like a camouflage. Or maybe they just have bad eyesight or so.

I hide in there because I couldn’t go on anymore. I am too tired. I feel a bit funny when my mind started to shrink further to think of… but death.
