The platform finally arrives and the whole level shakes. I enter it through one of the two gates and proceed to sit on a bench that is in the passenger area. The whole platform is divided into two areas. The passenger one where I currently am and which is divided with railing and the cargo area which is much larger and has various crates on it.
There are a few other people who are coming along for a ride but nothing too much. At this time we can all hear the alarms going off. The intercom is heard next.
[Warning! There is an intruder in the compound, they are disguised as a guard and have been first spotted on level 01. Increase your awareness and check for any suspicious activity.]
By the time the alarm went off the platform already started descending and we were out of sight of the guards on level 07. The commotion left the people on the platform stunned for long enough that I can grab my rifle and start mowing them down like grass on a hot summer day.
I killed 7 people in total who were all sitting on the benches. They probably weren’t prepared for the intruder which was right next to them all this time. I crouch down and prepare my rifle so I can fire at the guards on level 08.
The platform slowly descends and the few guards that were there come into my sight. I aim the rifle at the first one I notice and pull the trigger. The shot lands on his head and in that very instant his face melts and the insides start pouring out like a fountain and spraying all over the walls and the floor. I move the scope to target the second guard and by the time he realized what had happened I pull the trigger again.
I haven’t trained precision shooting for no reason, as I never missed a shot in the last 5 years of service. The shot landed somewhere above his waist and made a gaping hole about 10 cm in diameter which leaves his spine and scorched guts visible. All that could be heard was a loud scream of agony.
Other two guards that remained quickly grabbed their weapons and started firing. I ran over to the crates and used them as cover. I peek around the corner and let them fire a few more shots before I ready my rifle and aim at the third guard.
The shot lands and blows his guts out. I’ve purposely changed the mode from incendiary rounds to explosive rounds since it deals much more damage. The fourth guard retreats and seems to be calling for reinforcements. I empty the gas tank which makes a hissing sound and is unusually warm and then I carefully assess the environment.
This level doesn’t seem much different from the last in the main area, although there aren’t stairs coming down and there is one large corridor going straight. There seem to be two smaller corridors going left and right. The left corridor has something called the “Cryo Room” and I can only guess that it involves the large tanks that I’ve seen all around. The right corridor is leading to waste management.
For now I shoot at the platform’s large motor and it blows as there is no way I will be able to fight so many guards to get to the surface. There must be another exit.
I run for the cryo room and there doesn’t seem to be much in this corridor. There is one more room and it is an office. It looks like it is empty so I enter it. There seems to be a few computers online and I start searching for valuable info on the first one I see.
Temp, local, temp, Culture and War V, last year’s celebration photos, research subje- BINGO.
I find a spreadsheet of all the research subjects they had and it has their names, birth date and some have EXPUNGED written next to them. It looks like they were the unfortunate souls which were dissected upstairs. I notice that some have PENDING next to them and it can only mean one thing. They have been freezing them and storing them in the next room.
The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation.
I take a photo and rush to the cryo room. Inside there are rows upon rows of tilted tanks which I saw earlier. The tanks seem to be producing this mist and the glass is fully condensed. I can barely see the silhouettes inside. Just now I spot a scientist at the back end of the room and hastily draw my weapon to fire. Unfortunately in all that rush I accidentally shoot one tank and it explodes, sending shrapnel everywhere. Other tanks start leaking and I get out of the room as fast as possible.
After leaving the room, I hear footsteps coming from afar. It looks like that guard got reinforcements to come and they are all after me. No way I can fight all of them so I get back to the office and climb into the vent using a nearby shelf. There I patiently wait for the guards to assume that I ran away in the other direction.
I start crawling through the vent, hoping to get to the waste management area, where I can potentially find an exit. Since I have some breathing time, I swap out the batteries on my rifle so as to not find myself in a tricky situation later. No one heard me thankfully and I continue my crawl.
It took me a good 5 minutes to get to the waste control and after inspecting my surroundings I pry open the vent. There is no one here as they are all probably looking for me elsewhere. I wonder if they found a way to link up with upstairs, but there are probably more ways to get there than just the platform elevator.
I drop down on the floor and try to find some cover to hide. It looks like the waste management is just a lot of these waterways which have ladders so I can climb down. There are windows to another tunnel too, but isn’t the train tunnel one level up?
[Hey, I think I heard something coming from this area, I will investigate.], I hear from a distance.
I climb a ladder down into the dirty sewage water. A moment later I hear footsteps coming closer and shouts from the guards who are approaching. They start looking around the corners of the room and eventually start sweeping the waterways.
[There he is! Shoot him!]
A few shots were fired at a passing piece of trash. Looks like they were a little too trigger happy with their guns. They may not have seen any action since they were deployed here. There are currently three guards who are looking for me. I can take them if I utilize my surroundings to the fullest extent.
I run for the middle waterway, taking cover beneath the concrete platform in the middle, and I start aiming at the first unsuspecting guard. His brains are blown out and I shift my position. The other two guards are alert now and are sweeping the waterways.
[From where did the shot come?]
{I don’t know, it must have been from that area!}
[I swear I heard some footsteps just now!]
The guards start looking at my previous spot, but they eventually find nothing there so I take aim and shoot the second guard. He drops dead on the spot and the third guard meets his eyes with mine. A sense of dread comes through his spine as he readies his gun.
I start running and dodge the shots he fired at me. I take cover behind a concrete pillar which is supporting the platform he is standing on. The guard realizes his situation and starts to retreat. Not this time, I rush out of my hiding spot and fire a few shots at him. All the shots missed and he escapes.
The room I am currently in consists of three waterways with two platforms separating them and two walls with walkways on each end. The walkways and platforms are guarded by railings and there are some indent areas with ladders on them. The waterways continue on and are barred off in some areas with large metal bars. There is one tunnel, probably used for maintenance on the side.
The maintenance tunnel is pretty small compared to the ones where the water goes but is not as claustrophobic as some tunnels I’ve been to before. It’s even larger than a vent I’ve crawled to get to this area. Taking all that into consideration, I start going through the tunnel to see where it leads.
