Chapter Seven - A so Broken Anomaly

Inside the first floor of the store, a human-looking android greets Daniel, who is just entering the front door.

-Welcome Back, Boss Owen.

Ignoring the android, he continues on his way to the elevator and without saying anything, the elevator confirms his identity and he immediately goes up to the VIP section, as if he had already agreed it before with his personal assistant, something that few did, or rather something that few were in the habit of doing.

When he enters the VIP area he heads straight to the balcony, to see that everything was just as he had left it, Sasha watching Steve's live video.

"Welcome back, player" Sasha tells him jokingly pretending to be an android, but Daniel pays no attention and just takes a seat.

The video showed Steve entering the orc camp, it had been a few hours since he killed the first orc, and now he finally had a plan to activate the side quest, or so it seemed.

"Where's Jackson? and how did he get into the camp?" asks Daniel.

"I'm not going to tell you, if you're interested you shouldn't have left."

"I'd be rotting on the couch if I hadn't gotten out."

"Out where? You smell like blood."

"Tartarus" Daniel answers without hesitation.

Without uttering a word, Sasha checks the information on the Tartarus leaderboard, since he reached the top 1, no one has been able to beat Daniel, so finding the information of which level of Tartarus he is in, is something simple.

"True, but you lowered the levels, shouldn't the number one qualifier raise the levels... or would that be lower, since it's the Tartarus, well you understand."

"You'll know when you get to those levels, if you survive to tell the tale," Daniel replies sarcastically.

Meanwhile in the middle of the camp, the new player Steve, was not very sure of his plan, he had finally infiltrated the camp at the time when the orcs were changing guard, it was not so difficult to think of that solution but the boy had no idea that it was possible, however it was not that the orcs had a good sense of time, simply when it got dark the orcs warriors changed their posts with their relays, and the orcs workers who were still in the wooded areas or in the middle of the valley, would return to camp to rest. Steve's luck is that he was able to enter without realizing it by pure luck, trying to dodge the attention of the orcs he ended up inside one of the tents in the camp, now his plan was to move taking advantage of the darkness, the torches of the orcs could not illuminate the entire site and the sunlight was decreasing.

"(If I use the tents for cover... first things first, the leaders have to be somewhere, most likely I should look for a building or the biggest tent in the place perhaps)"

He wasn't far wrong, not too far away a large building could be seen, actually it wasn't that big, but taking into account that there were no other places this big other than the storage areas, it wasn't too hard to guess. So the boy set course for the center of the camp. Although it was easier said than done, it wasn't a straight path after all. The boy ended up lost every time, and with nightfall everything simply became darker, wanting to avoid the patrols of the orc warriors, he took different paths than the ones he wanted, and with the intention of not running into other orcs he tried to take the most isolated routes.

"(If half the camp is about 20 orcs, then the camp should have just over 40 orcs, no? but why are there so many tents?) thinks the boy barely noticing the situation.

"(Wait, rather, wouldn't it have been better to infiltrate the camp earlier...if almost all the orcs return at dusk, it means that in the daytime there should be almost no orcs...)" Realizing that fact, the boy forgets for a moment to keep silent "Shit..." turning his attention to the surroundings again, he turns to the sides, of course, having said it in a low voice, his words didn't get very far, but he was worried that he had woken up some orc somewhere fenced in.

Slowly he continued walking, lost, but in less than a minute, he found the target. The place where one of the orc leaders should be, had been reached, by a stroke of luck.

"And so, that's how my cousin will complete his task and get the best master assassin in the world" Says Sasha jokingly, celebrating his cousin's small victory.

"That anomaly should be illegal!" complains Daniel in protest.

"Dani Dani Dani... the system recognizes that there are players with anomalies, recognize it too, don't be a sore loser"

"Anyway, he managed to find the place where the leader and his assistants meet, now it is not so easy"

"Sure? I would say that if he can use his anomaly of luck to get to where he is, he just needs to use his brain a little to get in"

"Now what? Did you tell him to pack fireworks again or something?"

"Nop, I didn't tell him anything more than the basic information on floor 3"

"...Yeah right" Daniel is speechless for a moment, thinking if Sasha was telling the truth, but whatever the case was, such a strong anomaly of luck couldn't keep him alive forever, at some point he would have to use his brain, and Daniel thought that if he really used his brain, no matter if he failed to complete the floor on his first try, maybe it would be worth the effort to teach him. Of course, the more he saw him the more he thought he wanted it to be that way.

---

While Daniel and Sasha were talking, Steve had already devised a plan, from the back of that large building, where there were no guards guarding the area, more than an occasional patrol, Steve positioned himself behind, trying to find a spot from which to penetrate the building, it was not very difficult, he soon found the answer.

"(Orcs are not as smart as they look eh? Such a big camp but so few guards, ha!)" Celebrates the boy in his thoughts, after all he only needed to lift some rags that made up part of the structure of the building, not because it was a construction it would be totally made of strong materials, after all orc dwellings were mostly tents made of animal skins, even if that building was composed of wood mostly it still had weak points, now it was his turn to really attack, the decisive blow; he only had to find the target, kill it without making noise and leave the camp.

Checking the few rooms of the place he soon reached the main room where the leaders were meeting, this time there were only two orcs, but they were dressed differently from most of the orcs in the place, one had a suit of armor, one that unlike the other orcs warriors was a difference in status, it seemed more like a real armor, the other orc wore a clothing made of fur of some animal, although as the previous case it really looked that who made the clothes was some orc with talent or perhaps put a little more of effort to do it.

Normally the orcs would not be at that hour arguing, little did the boy know that the orcs were talking, in their language, about the murders of working orcs in the area, committed by Steve, and that it was just another stroke of luck that he had arrived before they left, of course, the two orcs would perhaps leave together, not one after the other, and Steve was sure that the guards at the entrance would follow the one without armor once he left the building.

"(I must act now, making a fuss won't do, I must kill one of the two here)."

The boy couldn't imagine that just now Daniel was swearing at the boy's luck, and neither could he imagine that the guards would actually follow the armored orc once he left the building, which in part Sasha was also swearing at, though she would do so in her thoughts and not out loud so as not to make Daniel feel better.
