When Kasao joined the agents, the majority of her expectations involved fighting enemies of Arkham, protecting researchers and scientists in the field or any other dangerous tasks.
What she certainly didn’t expect was to sit around for 30 minutes, waiting for other people to do their job while Sal’s omnifacturer produced a hundred sticky bombs and placed them inside an inflatable pool all while the sound of distant sonic booms traveled all around the lake.
Looking to her side, she could see streams of “fire” from one of the squads hitting what she assumed was one of the camps. She couldn’t help but feel slightly bad for the anti-foreigners getting liquified by each bullet hitting them. Only slightly.
She stared back at the now open rectangular machine as it produced more bombs by using the sand and loose rock around them as fuel. She felt nervous seeing the many ball shaped explosives inside the pool, knowing that the plan the three Spears discussed relied on her in order for it to work.
The plan in question was easy enough to do. All she had to do was throw all of the explosives on the camp’s defenses and detonate them all at the same time. The plan was effective and their reasoning was sound as well; saving strength to deal with the forces at the main base.
As for the plan to deal with the base itself, Chris has offered to make himself the distraction by using the bridge to cross while she, Sal and Wu use a boat that the latter spotted to travel across. While the defenders focus on the power armored agent, the three of them sneak inside the makeshift fortress and cause mayhem from inside.
It was certainly a reckless plan but they had the advantage of better technology and as such, they could afford to be brash. This would also give the three of them an easier time to disable the anti-air defenses around the base.
“Printing’s done.”
Sal announces to the rest of the team. As they stand up and dust themselves off of dirt and sand, he approaches Kasao and presents her what looks to be a remote of some kind.
“Here Kasao. Figured I’d give you the honors since you’re doing the majority of the work.”
Realizing what it was for, she nods and takes the detonator from him with her left hand. As Sal tinkers with the omnifacturer, Chris gives a few more instructions to Kasao before she starts.
“Stand on the rocks so you get a better view of the camp. Don’t worry about the searchlights, they’ll be dead long before they spot you.”
“Wu said there's 2 guard towers, 11 guards, 2 power armors and a tank. I’ll leave it up to you how to divide the bombs but make sure that tank is dead. If you’re ready, start throwing the bombs.”
She nods before climbing on top of the rocks at the edge of the small plateau to look over at the camp using her helmet’s zoom function. From what she could see, the camp served as a checkpoint for the bridge.
The two wooden watchtowers are located on opposite sides of the base on the side of the bridge. The spotlights on top of them light the dark area in front of them.
Sandbags around the checkpoint are used by anti-foreigner soldiers wielding outdated assault rifles. Their outfit consists of fatigues, vests and a metal helmet shaped to look like a skull.
In the middle of the road connecting to the bridge is an old model tank reinforced with alloy plates and wire mesh placed inches away from the main body to create spaced armor while on each side of it are two guards in power armor.

Now knowing their positions, she equally divides the bombs against each enemy. Whatever is left will be used against the tank but she’ll have to drop the bomb in waves to get rid of the wire mesh and the extra plates.
The 11 guards should only require a single bomb if she manages to hit them in the head. Two if she was going to be thorough. The power armor would need 5 for the head alone.
So that would make 22 bombs for the soldiers and 10 for the power armors if she is lucky, leaving 68 bombs for the tank. While she considers that many bombs ridiculously overkill, at least the tank will be dead.
Satisfied with the division, she prepares herself to execute the plan. Concentrating, she starts to levitate all 100 of the bombs to the night sky so the guards couldn’t see where it came from.
Using her eyes and her senses, she arranges the bombs in the air so they would fall on top of their respective targets. After organizing them, she clicks a button on the detonator to enable their stickiness as she raises her right arm and brings it down to send the bombs falling.
As the bombs fell, Kasao had to adjust some of them so they would land on their intended target. From her helmet she could see the surprise of the guards and the power armor troops as they felt and heard something hit them on the head.
The tank itself ends up getting completely covered in the explosive spheres, making it look as if someone pulled a prank and glued ball pit balls onto it.
Not wasting any time, she flips up the lid covering the main detonation button and presses-
BOOOOOOOOM!!!
Time seemed to slow down for Kasao as she felt the shockwave from the explosion push her off the rock and send her flying backwards. The helmet automatically protected her ears and eyes by muting the outside and massively dimming the display shown by the camera.
She could feel herself impact the rocky sand of the desert all while still being deaf, partially blind and without feeling all while regretting clicking that detonator.
She stops herself from being flung any further by digging her fingers on the ground to slow herself down. Standing up, she could see the three veterans staring at the area where the base is.
She could see that there were no more lights coming from below and a large plume of smoke rose in that direction. Curious as to how effective it was, she stands up and starts walking towards them.
The three of them turn around at the sound of footsteps to see Kasao approaching them. While Chris and Wu return to stare back at the camp, Sal decides to talk to her.
“Good job. You managed to take all of them out with how you handled the explosives.”
“Thank you. How well did it go, sir?”
“Look for yourself.”
She nods and starts climbing on top of the rocks she used to view the base to see the result of her action. Inside of her helmet, her eyes widened at what she saw.
The guards, the power armor, the tank and the base itself disappeared completely. What was left were craters of various sizes and depth, connected to one another. The largest was where the tank used to be, which Kasao roughly estimated was 2 meters deep and 5 meters wide.
She also noticed that the bridge on their side had been slightly knocked loose from the dirt, likely due to the tremor caused by the combined explosion.
As she stares in awe at the effect of the bombs, she hears Chris’ talk again. Likely something to do with the next step of the plan.
“Alright, that should be enough to spook them. You three start moving, I’ll get their attention.”
“Take the boat and drive under the bridge so they don’t spot you. Reach the banks that surround the base, I’ll meet you guys there.
Sal, Wu and Kasao nod, walking towards the road to go to the small pier near the water. As she’s walking, she looks back at Chris to see him hunched over.
Raising her eyebrow in curiosity, she gets her answer in the form of his back thrusters coming alive and increasing in strength. With a jump, the metal behemoth flies into the air for a few seconds before falling back to the ground, likely near the bridge.
Guessing that he did it to get the base’s attention, she returns her focus back to the pier. With each step, she could feel herself become more nervous. She’ll need to calm herself down or she’ll probably botch the plan for everyone.
