They all looked so good. I thought that the Arcane affinity looked good since it had no specific element. If I specialized in only one element, then I would have a weakness. The kleptomagic sounded really tempting, but I had no offensive spells to start with. I wasn't very worried about that though, I had a nice melee arsenal.

I tried out my mana control, and I "felt" the mana within my core. I brought it outside and I saw a thin ribbon of bluish stuff. I could manipulate and mold it with my mind, but it wanted to disperse. I was getting the hang of it, and mana control leveled up.

I saw another adult Fishwalker and used a mana-empowered bite on it. My jaws snapped shut with lightning speed, killing the creature instantly.

Then, I heard something. It was a noise like a *splat*.

It was up around the corner. I slowly crept towards the sound. I turned around the bend and saw a.. a slime. Why was there a slime trying to climb the wall? It was making little tentacles but could not get a good grip, so it fell back down. There was a ledge with a small crystal on it that it looked like the slime wanted. I walked closer, only stopping to kick the slime away. I didn't kill it though, I didn't get the notification.

Just then, I felt a foreign presence in my head.

"Please, don't kill me. I can help you"

"I have no name. I am a dungeon core, I just spawned a couple of days ago. I have chosen my Specialty but my only slime fell off my ledge. My mana regeneration is not high enough to spawn a new one yet".

I Observed the core and got a notification.
