THUD
Elecmon jumped at the noise, not slowing his sprint through the thick, ancient forest. His way not illuminated by the moon, but by a night sky hued with foreboding orange streaks intermingled by the bright blue cracks of lightning. He panted with exertion and fear; had he started running not 5 seconds later he'd have been crushed under the massive oak.
Zigzagging along through the thicket, he finally reached a clearing and took a minute to breath. He could hear the screams from the other Digimon running to whatever safety they could find. Elecmon was still a ways away from the designated cave they used as shelter whenever this happened, but here at least he hoped he'd be safe from any trees that got hit by the lightning.
Just as he thought that, Elecmon saw a flash of light and heard the guttural screams of a Kuwagamon as it fell lifeless just feet from where he stood. Quivering, he watched helplessly as the giant red bug disintegrated into blue data bits and scattered to the wind.
"W-what?" Elecmon whispered to himself. Despite this being a semi-regular occurrence for the past two years, this was the first time he'd seen it claim a life. Through the corner of his eyes he saw an orange streak heading his way, yet he was frozen, paralyzed by the fear of his impending demise. Was this it? He would never see his friends again. Never hear the gentle scolding of wise old Jijimon. The small, red child closed his eyes tightly and waited for his inevitable demise.

"GIGA DESTROYER" Elecmon's heart skipped a beat, hearing the whistle of two missiles overhead and the subsequent loud explosion as they impacted the meteor. As he opened his eyes, he felt a soft, firm arm scoop him up and saw white fur streaked with blue. Weregarurumon agilely jumped out of the way of the falling rocks and started running with Elecmon firmly in his grasp.
"This is getting a lot worse, Metalgreymon." The wolf-man growled to his companion. Elecmon turned his head to see the giant armoured Dinosaur flying beside his ride, avoiding the thick branches Weregarurumon jumped along. Metalgreymon nodded.
"This world has already reached its breaking point. I fear we don't have much time left before the structure breaks entirely." Elecmon panicked internally, those two were among the strongest Digimon on this continent. If even they were starting to give up? Jijimon hadn't told the children much, only that there were natural disasters happening. "I saw ice in the ancient ruins, Weregarurumon."
"The data leakage is worse than I thought." Weregarurumon added, gritting his teeth. "I hadn't had time to tell you before, but the desert is also starting to seep into this very forest just south of here."
"C-can you do anything about it?" Elecmon asked meekly. Though he didn't really understand what they said, he was hopeful since they at least knew what they were talking about. Metalgreymon's eyes widened as if he just remembered the child among them, though much to the small Digimon's disappointment the two perfects shook their heads.
"We cannot." Weregarurumon looked towards the mountain in the middle of the continent. "None of us have that kind of ability. If the digital world is to survive, it will need to act."
