In a well lit room, with many books in the bookcase, 2 men walked to a single notebook, and opened it up in anticipation

“This is the one I told you about, it is not well written, but you should seriously check it out”

They then started reading the first page.

I am not sure I should write this diary, but I would go mad if I didn't express my thoughts to anyone.

I am El, I used to work as a servant in an organization for the elite.

While there, I saw secret documents and discovered that they had implemented a plan to wipe out the world except for a select few.

These were powerful people, I knew that if I were to ask about it, I would end up dead. I knew that if I were to report it, I will end up dead.

I have no one, and no one cares for me. If I was killed, no one would bat an eye and wonder where I went

What would you do in my situation? The information is 100% reliable. The end of the world is going to happen in less than 2 years. I saw the initial plan is to cause a national disaster in a nearby country - and I looked it up, it already happened.

I am not a hero, I don’t have the backing or the will to fight this… I will..

Suddenly, the sound of the bell was heard, indicating that someone was seeking their service. They hurriedly put the notebook back in the bookcase, and ran outside.

One person asked for a towel to go swim, the other ordered a hamburger. The two men were busy attending to their duties, but continued to talk with one another.

“Seriously, I can’t stop thinking about it - that notebook is legit?”

“YES! I’ve worked here for 10 years, I can swear by it - the guy who wrote this was pranked by a few people, and he truly believed the world was going to end”

A man hurried down the stairs into a well-lit room.

"Hey! what are you doing? we agreed to read that together!"

"Ahh well... everyone talks so much about this guy, I just wanted to be in the know - anyway, I skipped a few pages, they weren't interesting. But, look at the last two entries"

When I found out the world was ending, I said that I would quit and travel the world, maybe even mend fences with the people that I cut off - so why am I putting myself in danger? Because I don't want to die, that's why. If these guys are going to wipe the world, I'm going to find the bunker they will hide in, and I am hiding there with them.

After about two months, my co-workers stopped snickering around me every time they saw me concerned. One of them even told me that I was pranked, but I no longer believe that. The prank was closer to reality than they think. I kept my eyes and ears open, I am confident that something off is happening in this club.

It was supposed to be a regular club for the elite and powerful, but once my eyes were open to the type of things being discussed by them here, I've heard even more concerning stuff. So I opened my eyes more, and I started noticing them going to a hidden room, and vanishing for hours sometime days on end.

I set up hidden cameras and hidden microphones - you'd be surprised what you can find online for a few bucks.

"Wait, isn't that illegal?"

"Probably why the diary wasn't given to the police and instead hidden once the guy vanished - the owners seriously didn't want anyone to find it. The cleaner found it in the owner's room and brought it here since the owner hasn't been seen for a while anyway, and this was of deep interest to the staff, but we should put it back soon."

"Ah yah, few pages back, few more illegal things were mentioned"

"anyway, flip the page already."

Looks like the quality was bad, whenever something interesting is about to happen - all the cameras and microphones only show me static. If they have a bunker down there, I want to see it for myself, I've spent too much energy into this already.

Today on my break, I will go to the VIP underground parking lot and hide behind a parked car to wait for something interesting to happen.

"And it ends here"

"Did you just quote that viral video?"

"It is from a tv show"

"Anyway, when are we going to check that out?"

"check what out?"

"That was the last entry. So I really want to see what he found" Kyle who started working there a month ago, took out his phone and started taking pictures of the pages in the notebook.

The other man perplexed replied "count me out kid, I don't want to get fired - that is probably what happened to him, and then he hid out of embarrassment or something"

Kyle appeared disappointed, but not disheartened - maybe it was curiosity, or perhaps something else- but he was driven to find out what happened to that man.
