Wenton lifted Tasha onto his shoulders and headed inside the building.
The structure stood on the outskirts of the city, surrounded by a dense forest-like area. Only a few scattered houses were present, all distant from the building, which resembled an old, abandoned church. Its walls were crumbling in places, moss covered the surface, and it no longer appeared as a place of worship but rather as something haunted.
From a distance, Fiona observed the scene, concealing her presence. Shin had teleported to a spot nearby to avoid alerting the demon, and soon, he joined Fiona.
Fiona's face was grim, her gaze fixed on the building with a mixture of sadness and resolve.
"Bad memories?" Shin asked, sensing her mood.
"It’s the reason I got into this job," Fiona replied quietly.
"It must have been terrible," Shin said sympathetically, "so bad that even God abandoned this land."
"That’s why the demon chose this place. It's more cursed than a demon's den," Fiona responded.
"What happened here?" Shin asked hesitantly.
"It was a mass shooting. Four men, possessed by demons, opened fire from outside. Almost everyone was killed—except a few," Fiona explained, her tone heavy with grief.
"You were one of the survivors," Shin remarked, his head fixed on the direction of the building.
"Yes. My younger brother tried to save me, but he was killed. That’s when I started investigating, learned about demons, and eventually joined Holy Hands to fight them," Fiona said, her eyes filled with sadness and regret.
They fell into silence, continuing to watch the building. It was already 1:00 a.m.
"What’s the plan?" Fiona asked.
"I don’t think there’s anyone else around. The other children must be inside the building. I’ll go in and lure Wenton out. You save the kids in the meantime," Shin explained.
"I should lure the demon. You can teleport all the kids together," Fiona suggested.
"That’s not possible with the inner seals. I can only teleport one person at a time, and he’d notice immediately. You can move faster and remain undetected," Shin clarified.
"Alright. You lure him out, and I’ll get the kids," Fiona agreed with determination.
"I’m heading in now," Shin declared.
He approached the building and, as he neared, released a ferocious aura to draw Wenton’s attention.
Inside, Wenton was busy drawing a pentagram inscribed with incantations and sigils of the kings of hell. He was preparing to sacrifice the children and gain more power. The six kids sat in the corner, their mouths gagged, hands tied, and faces stained with tears. Their eyes were red from crying, and their bodies bore wounds. Wenton recited an incantation, and the children fell asleep.
"Finally, I’ll become stronger," Wenton muttered with a devious grin. But suddenly, a chill ran down his spine, and fear gripped him—a fear like prey feels when hunted by a predator.
**Who is this? Demon hunters don’t have such a fierce aura, and there’s no smell of sulfur. Did the cult leader come himself?** Wenton wondered, but he didn’t have time to dwell on it. Whoever this was posed a threat and needed to be dealt with.

He stepped outside and was shocked to see Shin.
"You—what are you doing here?" Wenton stammered, a flicker of fear in his eyes.
"To think you’d possess someone and use his daughter as a sacrifice. You deserve to be sent back to hell," Shin replied, his tone deadly serious.
"You really are blind, huh? Even with that ferocious aura, your power level barely matches a mid-grade demon. You’re the one going to hell," Wenton mocked.
"Don’t underestimate me because I’m blind. Maybe I should gouge out your eyes too," Shin retorted coldly.
"Enough!" Wenton launched himself at Shin. His skin melted away, revealing long, sharp, black claws where his fingers had been.
He swiped at Shin, but Shin easily dodged and countered with a swift kick to Wenton’s jaw, sending him flying back.
Wenton stood up, his dislocated jaw healing almost instantly.
"Looks like I underestimated you," Wenton admitted, wiping the blood from his mouth. "Your power level is low, but your technique—it’s just like his. Were you—"
Before he could finish, Shin punched him in the face, cutting him off mid-sentence.
"Shut up. Say one more word, and I’ll make your death slow and painful," Shin growled, his rage growing.
"Haha, I see. You’re a shameful existence. Don’t worry, I’ll relieve you of it today," Wenton said with a twisted smile.
Shin, now furious, enveloped his fists in a blood-red aura and charged at Wenton.
Wenton quickly raised a shield of the same aura to defend himself.
**I need to drag him away from the building and into the forest, so Fiona can rescue the kids,** Shin thought, strategizing.
His hands twitched, and his skin began to melt. His muscles expanded, making his fists three times their original size.
**This is my only chance,** Shin thought.
With lightning speed, he launched himself at Wenton and punched him hard, sending him flying toward the forest.
**How is he so fast?** Wenton thought as he was flying towards forest he noticed Shin's feet. **He transformed his feet and covered it in aura in such a short span of time?**
Shin shot Fiona a signal with his eyes, and she swiftly moved toward the building to rescue the children.
Meanwhile, Wenton lay on the ground, gasping for breath. Blood dripped from his nose and mouth, and his ribs on the left side were shattered, puncturing his lung. Though his regeneration was quick, the pain was unbearable.
**He’s tracking me through my aura. I need to hide my presence and recover,** Wenton thought, but it was too late—Shin was already closing in. Wenton devised a plan.
"You must be desperate to know where your daughter is. If you let me go, I’ll tell you her location," Wenton offered desperately.
Shin paused for a moment before delivering a powerful punch to Wenton’s face.
"I’ve dealt with enough demons to know that everything you say is a lie. You’re not stalling for time—I’m killing you now," Shin declared, his voice cold, his murderous aura intensifying.
**I need more time to heal,** Wenton thought, panicking. Then, he noticed something—a presence, and Shin felt it too.
"Did you have another partner with you?" Shin asked angrily.
**The cult leader betrayed me,** Wenton realized. **He said the other five children would be mine, but now he’s sent someone to kill me. Good thing I made a deal with that man.**
Wenton pulled out a glass test tube filled with glowing, golden blood.
"This will kill you both," he said before quickly drinking the blood.
Shin moved, but it was too late. Wenton had already consumed the blood. Shin increased the muscle mass of his arm, gathering a massive amount of aura to strike, but—
*Slash*
Shin’s hand was sliced clean off. He quickly retreated, regenerating his arm in an instant.
**Damn, that blood must be from someone with divine heritage. His power level has spiked—just slightly below high-grade now. If I don’t do something soon, I’ll die,** Shin thought grimly.
Back at the building, the new demon entered. He surveyed the symbols and sigils on the floor and the four children encircled by salt.
"There are two demonic entities fighting—Wenton and someone else. Who placed this salt? And where are the other two children? That girl must be Wenton’s daughter. Did a demon hunter discover this place?" he wondered aloud.
Suddenly, he felt a swift slash and narrowly dodged.
His hand was cut but healed instantly.
"You must be the demon hunter," the new demon remarked.
**Why is a cult member here?** Fiona thought. **Did he come to save Wenton?**
"You’re not answering, huh? No matter—I’ll kill you and those other demons." the demon sneered.
"I know you, from your aura I can tell that you are the member of Devil's Eyes." Fiona said with anger and rage.
"Oh so you know about our cult, then you must be from that pesky Holy Hands group, leader would be too happy to know that I eliminated not one but two thorns in our way." The demon laughed.
Fiona raised her sword, the demon moved slowly near her and his face which was covered with darkness finally came to light and Fiona finally saw the demon's face and she was shocked.
Standing before her was Officer James—possessed by the demon.
