Chapter 15: Road to Dream

Chapter 15: Road to Dream

With the setting of the Sun at dusk, comes a new one tomorrow.

The Sun shall rise from the east and so does the purple mist. A rather famous saying in the Gaspra Realm which so happened to be told by a great martial artist who was also a scholar. More like a folktale to the young martial artists to motivate them to train in the early mornings.

The dawn approached once again and the young guns were full of energy. The seniors of the Academy were out training as usual but unfamiliar faces popped up everywhere. Those were the juniors who had just joined the Academy.

Zayer and the boys were up for some training with all the others. The Academy was a place of competition, you either rule or you obey!

Every student had a dream of their own. So what was a dream? Was it power? Was it fame? Was it wealth?

The answer to this is sometimes unclear. A student would want power to rule all. Once he had power, he would want fame. Once he had fame, he would want wealth as well.

The road to the dream was as unclear as the dream itself.

To the back of the Academy was the Cross Mountains, green as well as dangerous to any novice martial artists. One had to have decent strength to survive in the Cross Mountains.

Zayer bid farewell to the boys and told them to catch up with them after he had finished some solo cultivation.

Zayer's aim was to reach the Cross Mountains and explore the area. His true aim was of course to find the mysterious energy his Third Eye could sense back from the Academy. He was pretty much intrigued to find out what it was.

As he reached the foothill of the mountains did he realise, that it was a mountain range! Weird screeches of monstrous beasts could be heard. The place though was covered with lush greenery, was rather deserted. In fact there was not a single martial artist to be seen anywhere nearby.

The pressure started to increase on Zayer as he felt some unknown beast locked onto to him.

"Someone really wants to play with me today. It's been really long since someone actually targeted me!" Zayer sighed as he began to feel his adrenaline pump with excitement.

He raised his sword from the sheath and stood on guard as he surveyed his surrounding.

*Screech*

Without any notice, a Level 3 GoldWing Bat came gliding with it's teeth ready to pounce onto some flesh.

The sword in his hand moved like an arc and came down in a familiar fashion

"Sublime Cut" Zayer echoed.

The GoldWing Bat was a monsterous beast which laid in wait for its prey and would only attack enemies which it felt confident about.

It did not hesitate to rush but the outcome was rather severe.

*Slash*

The wing of the GoldWing Bat was severed in an instant. Before it could even screech another attack from Zayer followed.

*Slash*

The bird fell onto the ground motionless and laid dead. Immense screeching could be heard nearby as the scent of blood was all over the place.

"I don't think I should stay here any longer. It's catching too much attention." thought Zayer as he sped away into the mountains.

"This place is filled with intimidating beasts which I may not be able to beat at the moment. It's better I don't reveal my myself anywhere." Zayer sped through the mountain pass and realised it would be better to stay low for the time being.

"Gaspra Realm...What bullshit! Mages and Warriors....hahahahahahaha"

"These so called martial artists don't really follow a true path, yet they segregate themselves into categories. What power is this in front of the Dao?"

Various thoughts sprung up in Zayer's mind. Many from his past life where he was a like a devil that could never be tamed. He truly

didn't understand the cultivation conventions of this world. Warriors followed a different path and so did the mages and yet they all

reached the same bottleneck while breaking through to higher realms.

Was there really need for such a segregation?

Zayer could feel the power source even stronger now. He was convinced that it had to be somewhere here.

A big tree as tall as a mountain could be seen from afar. The branches were huge too and long as atleast a kilometer!

A tiny ant like silhoutte approached the tree, it was Zayer himself.

The tree had huge pit next to it but suprisingly there were no beasts that Zayer could sense nearby.

"Seems like this place is a taboo for these monstrous beasts. More likely to be many times dangerous than themselves" Zayer smirked as he approached the pit.

As he looked at the huge pit from above, he could see an entrance. More like a staircase going down deep into the earth.

"Surprising to see this place left open in such a magnificent way." questions started to pop up in Zayer's mind as the situation was too obvious. But his questions were all bombarded off his mind when he saw footprints all over the pit.

"Well there are footprints of people going in and coming out. Perhaps they really don't understand what is inside this place" confusion seemed to be the place Zayer was in at the moment.

"Whatever it is, It's just too tempting for me not to try it!" Zayer kept his hopes up and started to move towards the staircase.

Zayer began to move down the dark staircase and didn't require light to move about inside. This was made possible due to his Third Eye ability. He didn't want to catch too much attention either.

The staircase came to and end as it reached a hallway. The hallway was filled with dirt and insect like creatures.

The hallway was long but Zayer didn't seem to care as he felt no danger around him. The hallway seemed to end and a door stood closed in front of Zayer.

"Let's move you as well" Zayer tried pushing the door open.

The door moved slightly inside but didn't really open up.

*Sublime Cut*

Without a moment to think Zayer slashed down on the door with his sword. When the sword began to slash down, blue lights emerged near the sword!

*Slash* *Boooom*

"Whaat?! Impossible! This can't be!" Zayer was more shocked than he had ever been in his life in the Gaspra Realm.

He began to motion once again as he slashed down with his sword.

*Sublime Cut*

*Slash*

"MY DAO! IT'S MY DAO!" Zayer began to scream in excitement.

"It's finally back! Just how is it possible? Wasn't this world suppressing my Dao? Then what about the World Rule??"

Zayer was lost in his thoughts unable to understand the reason for this situation.

But, what was a Dao?
