Chapter 49: Written Piranha.

The next following years, I roamed around the planet searching for the rest of my friends, more specifically, I was heading towards where I think the Southern Sentinel Group's main unit would be at, which is at a large abandoned coal mine. Not much knows about this one city lost even before the apocalypse, so it is now home to the Baphomet's cult members. The coal mine should be somewhere in that lost city. Tahgweiy told me one time that their main base of operations was called "Ripir" in the Baphomet's main language, she also told me where it was, that's why I know where to go.

Throughout this journey, it has become clear to me now; that everyone hates me for some reason, even though I'm the one who saved them!

Why is it that everyone hates me, including the Demons?! We had a mutual enemy, remember? I helped you guys by trying to defeat Tsuchinoko, and now you're repaying me by throwing me into a brutal throe? I found some of them Demons at a more healthy environment, but all they did was attack me! When the Baphomet came in, I still tried my best to save both Heart Fiya and Cornea, so why are they treating me like this?! The same happened with the Humans, even though I also tried everything I could to stop Cricket Cricket and Frillet Tofan. Without me, I bet Djouflour and other kingdoms would've fallen to the Demons during the war.

I think I've already said this before, but, since the Bloodlust Forest was now gone, the madness slowly disappeared and life began to prosper once again. Humans have already rebuilt major cities with the help of a powerful figure, which is Yawei, along with his angels. One other person also helped without any connections to Yawei and his religion however, most say that their name was "Claw", the woman I met on the way to the capital city of Djouflour. I'm not sure why she's helping them, but with the people's descriptions, I'm sure it's her. After all, there's noone who has held the God-Slaying Blade other than Claw... I think. ..I don't want to think about Yawei, nor his sword again. That man's the sole reason why I got into this mess in the first place!

My return has become well-known around the world. There has also been some talks about Crowler, Den, and Lare, but it was all negative. Now that I know they're still alive though, I can get them and head to the Temporal Spatial Pyramids once and for all, that is, after I take Tahgweiy with me! I don't know what happened to Rintan, Cantaloupe, and Fone, but I promise I'll find them as well!

At a city called Opo—one of the greater cities revived during my time of hibernation—I hid well for 53 days somehow, despite still having my hardened blood on my arms and legs as visible as they can be. My weapons were on full display too, but they don't really give much attention for some reason. I realized the blood on my arms has gotten a bit too thick for me to use guns now, so Pure's Glock-40 only sat on my vest until I could use it again. Removing my hardened blood is a waste, since hardening takes a lot more energy than just regenerating. I forgot to stop growing them until now, so I have learned my lesson the hard way.

One day, whilst I was laying on bed inside one of the run-down buildings, a loud crowd appeared at the center of the city, just right outside the shabby royal palace. Almost every building was barricaded like the one I'm in, but most of them contained people, whilst this one only had me in it. I checked through the gaps in my window, and saw the woman that I have met during the Dragon Relocation Mission. Standing at the middle of the masses was none other than Yeshua herself, talking about some nonsense that I would only know if I was in my Full Concentration Mode!

"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest!"

And the people cheered, asking her for something. They all seemed happy, looking at the feline like she was their savior. Well, her name does mean "True Savior" but I still find her sketchy. I mean, who'd you really trust a cat-girl speaking like that? I know I wouldn't!

She and some other men helped distribute food and water to the starving people. The disaster has only subsided quite recently according to the news, so it would make sense that everyone's still suffering because of the aftermath of the Bloodlust Forest. Noone here looks relatively healthy, they all wear bandages, or just show their gruesomely disfigured and scarred bodies. Some even use protheses. Still, noone is fine right now, so it's fair that they'd help each other out. Even I'm not okay. I still have this pain, but slowly, it's getting better and I know that eventually it will go away. I couldn't find anything useful back at the Elven city, and the same went for all the other places I went to, so I guess I can see why these people may not get any treatment forever. There're already piles of corpses everywhere for the more unlucky ones. Sigh... If only I got back into shape..! There would be less suffering right now!

"Let us share this bread and fruit for our neighbor! Eat the sustenance that I have bestowed upon thee and let this mark the dawn of a new light where iniquitous scoundrels are no more!!"

Is this some kind of celebration for the Bloodlust Forest's end? I'd love to take part as well, but I'd only get arrested by the police..! Damn you, people! Why do y'all hate me so much?! I'm supposed to be the hero, you know?!

"Glory to the Lord!!" "Praise the Lord!!" "Thank God!!" "Hail to you, oh Lord!"

Quite a noisy bunch. I can't sleep with all this ruckus. I guess it's time for me to get back to work. I don't have any reason to do anything with Yeshua anymore, since she doesn't seem to have Divine Intervention with her. I still don't know why I was feeling that way the day I met her though. But I don't feel anything now, so this is brilliant! I am no longer distracted by anything, and this cat-girl isn't really an enemy. In fact, I no longer have enemies anymore. The war between the Humans and the Demons is still not over yet, but with everyone hating the Hero's Party, I guess it shouldn't be my responsibility to help them now! I'm going to join the Baphomet's side, so while the humans might be against me, it's not like they can even hurt me. The demons are kind of angry too, but I have the Baphomet on my side! A fierce battle between the Demon Lord and the Baphomet would be catastrophic, it would end up like the Great Catastrophe.

But still, even if it isn't my responsibility, I'll try my best to help everyone and stop the Demon Lord! Once the Demon Lord is gone, I could probably live in peace, and possibly even get friendly with the Demons!

There's Tsuchinoko, Frillet Tofan, and the Blood God too... But oh well. I guess I'll defeat them too.

Everyone was celebrating outside. Taking this chance, I tried sneaking off the city, putting on my bloodied hood and walking away from my temporary resting place. I gave Yeshua one last look before I leave, but unfortunately, she found me, noticing the blood stains on my clothing. Everyone nowadays would just ignore reddish-brownish stains on shirts and cloaks, so I almost forgot that the non-average person would think it's strange! ...Oh, wait, maybe it's because she's a cat. Cats do have a good sense of smell, don't they?

"Ay! Halt!!! Stop in thy boots, Satan! You mayn't fool me, and butcher God's precious creations again! Would you be so nice as to come speak to me for a moment?"

I sighed and hesitantly began walking towards her. There was a good distance between the crowd and her. She was at the middle of all this, just joyfully passing bread. She isn't as bad as the last preacher I met, so I expect myself to not take 40+ lives again. She worships the same god as the one Yawei worships, but surprisingly, she doesn't use force or anything like that. Instead, she only uses words to get more followers for her god.

"I commiserate with you, I'm aware thou art suffering bedlam as things stand, Satan, but so is every single soul present here! Though there have been many things that you have totaled, you are still worthy of forgiveness, as long as you give the Satan in you a lambasting."

"I'm sorry, man, but I gotta go... I don't even understand what you just said. Don't make me repeat what I did 30 years ago."

"Tsk tsk tsk."

She waved her finger at me, looking down, eyes closed with the other hand on her hip.

"Thy beloved one, the subject matter of your inhostile human fellows, has requested me to personally seek you, and through word of God, I've encountered you here. You do wish to meet with your betrothed again, don't you? The Satan doesn't, but Vixen does. Wink!"

If you come across this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.

I feel like that one wink she gives me at the end of her speech just made a blood vessel pop on my face. I don't even understand what she's saying, but I just know for some reason that she's talking about Tahgweiy.

Yeshua stepped back to the center, where the nearest person would be a few meters away now, and began dancing with a smug look on her face. She was wearing only a robe with a crucifix drawn on the back. She danced barefoot on the concrete road filled with filth and other rusty, sharp iron, and basically whatever could harm dangerous outsiders. Though her feet was bleeding, she didn't seem to care, nor did anyone here care.

"A tribulation, a rapture, a preferred hell on earth! You will consider it as one, but as the lamb of god, I was sent here with one mission, and that is to fulfill his goal of creating paradise, the kingdom of god!

"I am the one prophet, Vooan(@!?+&)!! Truth! I go by his ways, and his ways only! Lay upon us, and lend us your hand, and you shall be lorded over by the one and only, the God Most High!!"

I swore I heard her voice glitch out or something. It must've been one of my 12 senses breaking since they're still not fully healed, but I definitely heard her voice speak over itself in gibberish.

Once she was done with her little performance, she went over to me wiping her forehead.

"Now then, Satan. One of our sponsors, your beloved friend, has sent me here, guided by the holy spirit of god. He has told me that you should be on your way to his castle, for he has wisdom to share with you. Be not mislead, however. Fate gives you trials to meet it."

She gave me a letter. The letter was sent by 'Rintan Firanha' herself. It was an invitation to the nearby embassy in this city. From what I read here, it seems that Rintan is quite confident that she'll be in the correct place to meet me when there're many more places built by the Western Alliance and her kingdom.

It wasn't that far from where Yeshua was feeding the starving crowd. Just sitting near the abandoned houses, was a royal palace, heavily guarded, and surrounded by the average people, hungry and desperate. The guards aimed their spears at the people, a typical sight. I squeezed through the crowd holding the invitation letter above me.

Fortunately, the guards saw it and let me in.

Inside, I could say it really was the place of importance. The lights were shining and the tiles were slippery. I could tell it was well-kept since the rest of the buildings outside looked like ruins compared to this place. Mmm..! I can smell the fresh air here, it reminds me of my hometown! The guards here weren't so harsh as well, they treated me like a weirdo though... Well, I guess it's not everyday you see such a beautiful woman with limbs half covered with blood wearing a bloodied cloak, and a swimsuit under a kevlar vest!

2 of the knights from Rintan's group appeared to lead me into where Rintan was.

We walked through the interior until we arrived at a particular room. The knights left me alone to open the door. Inside, a knight in shining armour sat down a chair next to the window. The glow of the sun passed through the tinted glass and hit the floor. Paintings of high value were plastered on the walls along with a rifle. And there, near the corner was Rintan, "The Knight In Shining Armour." She appeared to have blonde hair with her helmet up to expose a face that was none other than the face of the captain of the Holy Knights of Foielrhyy. I suppose the strange aura surrounding her was some kind of identity-hiding spell. I just had a hunch that Jirania was someone I knew, but I didn't expect him to be Firanha...

"What do you think, Vixen? Iraya sounds the same as Firaya. I really thought you were smarter than that, or have you already figured me out the day we had an unofficial reunion?"

I quickly calmed down and took a seat near her. I'm getting really excited right now. How long has it actually been since I've last seen her..?! I'm not talking about Jirania and the knights, since I know that that was around 30 years ago now. I'm talking about the Rintan Firanha right before me, the Rintan Firanha that came to Pikaia's house right before the apocalypse. Our team got destroyed when I casted [Antares], and ever since then, I've been in constant agony! Clar came along unhidden too, but she's not really someone I like. I've been told she was an enemy, and I don't really mind if she's an opposition, but I'd prefer if she stayed a friend, much like the rest of my allies.

"Rintan, it's not the best thing to ask when we just got reunited again, but what happened to Quick, Thomas, Luren, Clar, and the other fellows, Sushi Sand and Cantaloupe?"

"How heartbreaking, Vixen. I expected you to be more effervescent seeing my face again. But look at you asking me about others as if I'm but another pawn for your depraving actions. Might you have a Heart-to-Heart with me?"

"Sorry, Rintan. I'm pleased to see you too. Though, I feel quite disrespected when you kept your true self secret from me when I was in certain hardships."

"Don't act the fool now. In all the years you've been gone for, Tov-Yeua took our side and helped us bring back our ruined society. Yea, the same Tov-Yeua you've tried to murder. You don't have the right to accuse me of hiding myself when you've been keeping your true identity clandestine. Not only did you try crushing Tov-Yeua, but you also attacked Yawei as well. You could've destroyed Cvvoer with the God Most High's angels dead, you know?"

Rintan stood up to look through the window, putting her hands behind her back. She looked pretty displeased, then let out a sigh. Amidst the silence, a servant entered the room and put down the table on the center of the room two cups of tea before leaving quickly.

"It pains me to hear that you've been Satan all this time. Whilst only few may know of that name, you, alone, should be the one to know it most. ...I have heard from Ruthenoceras Ptychodus, Tov-Yeua, and Hatzegopteryx Thambema that you are at the heart of it all. I feel sorry for your reembodiment Chris Teal, so I, or rather, we, will say this one more time, in hopes of you finally giving up with your tail between your legs. Though, first, I may answer your first question about your beloved ones to keep you at ease. Feel free to sip your tea before we get started, Satan."

W-What... What is this woman talking about again..? I've prepared myself for the worst, but there's no way that Rintan would've actually betray me, right?! I've lost too much people. I'm literally going insane. So why is another one of my friends going up against me?!! How in hell does Rintan even know I'm Chris Teal?! Did she really arrive at the Temporal Spatial Pyramids and spoke with the Salmon Shark?!

I can feel my left eye twitching again. I must calm down... The tea they gave must've been for long talks like this. I'll drink it slowly while Rintan talks...

"You asked me about your friends, didn't you? Well, Cantaloupe and I never got back together, but everyone managed to complete their mission without you, so I guarantee you that they are all fine. The Great White on the other hand has suffered mentally and spiritually after your unexpected defeat. She tried to fight Archangel Yahweh herself, but lost miserably. Only ones of the old world can stand and rise up against their own Angels, let alone God, the Holy Father. Archangel Yahweh won gloriously, but you... I am a bit horrified how you survived, Satan. But I guess it can all be answered only by Ruthenoceras Ptychodus, the Salmon Shark herself. I'm sure you're heading towards her home too yourself, so I will ask politely that you allow me to accompany you there."

What's this tone she's speaking in..? She sounds calm, but obviously very irritated. I can sense Bloodlust from her as well, though, I can't really get what she's feeling at all.

"Ah, I almost forgot to tell you this, but Sushi Sand is actually Tsuchinoko's Clone."

"I knew about that the day after we got separated for the first time."

"Eh?"

She seemed to pause for a moment before coughing and regaining her composure.

"Cough cough! Ah... Really? W-well... I see. Ahem ahem! So uhh... So it is true that you're actually Satan reincarnated. The Demons must've told you about that, am I right? While they are kind of against you right now, the fact still remains that you helped them, and they helped you. Currently, we are at an Era of Desperation. Strange phenomenons have occured around the world, even in Earth, Chris's homeland. These weird happenings can be explained only by Ruthenoceras Ptychodus in her prison. Last time I've visited her was 29 years ago, so now, I'm going to pay her another visit. Perhaps Humanity will continue to strive again... Oh how I shouldn't have met you in the first place, Vixen. If only I knew you were Satan beforehand, I wouldn't have done this."

I don't know who Satan is, but there is just no way that I am him. I am Vixen Corr, or formerly, Chris Teal. 'Satan' is a name that I have never even heard of in my entire life, both in Earth and in Cvvoer! So telling me that I am somebody else is just wrong. Who even is he anyways? I really need to get to that damn Salmon Shark as soon as possible..!

I've got a radio from Veno's home before leaving, and it is only now that it has began to work.

"?!!%? &!!?%%! DOCT?!R!! THIS IS ?!&!% COUNTER-ACT FORCE OMEGA 0-1 IS NOW IN ACTION!! PLEASE LEND US YOUR AID AND CALL THE RADDI ADMINISTRATION NOW!! FUCKING BASTARD GOT US ON A WILD GOOSE CHASE, BUT NOW WE'VE GOT 'EM!! SO PLEASE!! ENEMY CODENAMED: 'PIRANHA' IS ON THE LOOSE TOWARDS SINGULARITY POINT!! I REPEAT: CALL THE RADDI ADMINISTRATION NOW!! If that damn beast manages to free the ancient one, we're all doomed. Doctor, the world is on your shoulders, so please... Last time she couldn't get 'em out, but now that Satan walks the earth... She'll kill Satan and complete the ritual. Don't let that happen, Doctor, you're our only hope!"

Damn was that a loud and long message! Rintan's looking at me confused. She looks like she's waiting for something.

"Ummm... W-what was that..? Are you done now..?"

"Sorry, my Master had some businesses left with the army."

"Ah, okay. Probably nothing useful huh?"

Hmmm... If I remember what he said correctly... Satan is back... And if he's back... People called me Satan... Satan..? Omega 0-1..? Wait... Wait..! Something... Something bad's happening... Shoot... I can't seem to get my mind on it...

"Finally, the effects are kicking in. I'm really sorry, Vixen. But I hate Satan. I need to do this for the greater good."

"Wha-..? This..! This stupid cliche..?! W-Wait, no... Rintan..!?"

"Quit your Tragic Heroine act already, Satan..! I know you're just pretending to be Vixen still! I know..!"

The last things I heard were the sounds of Rintan's voice breaking before the sound of my cup shattering.

I saw the floor right before me, and thus, darkness began to take over.
