There was a passenger truck parked in the garage, Ren instructed half of the squad to start carrying the goods to the truck carefully and quietly. The room was filled with arms that not even us would have access to. Advanced Pre-war Energy and Plasma-based weapons, Heavy arms such as rocket launchers and miniguns, they even have a huge quantity of ammunition for these kinds of weapons like Plasma cartridges, rockets, fusion cells and fusion cores. It’s astonishing how a raider group can get access to these sort of stuff, though it really makes me wonder where’d they get it.
“Those bastards have some nice loot eh? Too bad we takin’ it from ‘em, What can I say? Were just returnin’ the favor so that they’ll know how it feels like bahahaha” Ren said jokingly whilst still trying to stay quiet at the same time.
Suddenly we hear a crash on one of the lockers, we are not alone, Ren instructed the other half of the squad to go investigate. As the squad approached the locker, a person busted out and falls to the ground. Judging by his appearance, it seems that he’s one of the raiders. “Help me…the overboss, he’s turn- turning…” his voice is shaky; it seems that he’s struggling to breath. Ren then points her pistol onto the raider’s head “Where are you keeping them?” she asked with a menacing tone.
The raider wasn’t able to answer as he was trying to catch his breath whilst struggling to move a limb. “I’ll ask again for the second time, where are you hiding your slaves? Answer or your head explodes” “de…demons! they….t-turned…demons! e…experiment!” Suddenly the raider started shivering and crying out of fear. “e-experiment!..the…overboss…h-he’s…t-turning…us to demons!” The raider then started coughing uncontrollably and vomits, the floor started corroding from the vomit and the struggling raider was now able to stand with ease.
Ren and the squad fall back, she then ordered us to get into our positions and draw our weapons. We then hear a screech accompanied by steps that’s getting louder and louder. We opened fire to the raider but it seems that regular ballistic weapons deal little to no damage and would only slow it down. “What the heck is that thing?” “Just keep shooting it” Despite all the rounds being fired, the raider still manages to pounce on one of the soldiers, devouring it. We all watched in horror as one of our allies scream in agony as it was being eaten alive by this creature.
“Ballistic Weapons doesn’t seem to work on this Sunnuva Bitch! Watson! gimme that Plasma Rifle!” Ren shouts as Corporal Watson loads and throws the weapon from ten meters away. The creature charges to us again, Ren successfully catched the weapon, the only problem is that she doesn’t know how to operate it. The weapon won’t fire no matter how many times she pulls the trigger.
We all hold our breaths as the creature approaches Ren, “The Safety! Press the button near the trigger!” Corporal Watson shouts, the weapon finally fired and landed a critical blow on the creature’s head. Ren approached the creature’s corpse for further examinations and guarantee its death, Ren ordered us to continue carrying the goods and be on lookout whilst doing so. “What was up with this dude? Was it drugs? Nah that can’t be, there ain’t no type of drug that’ll give you bullet immunity”

“Something ain’t really right, I’ve never seen anything like this, ever see this kind of shit Watson?” “No ma’am” Corporal Watson answered as he was assisting Ren on examining the corpse. “The blood…by the looks of it it’s already experiencing postmortem lividity, this guy is considered dead for like three days!” “Are there any bite marks?” Ren asked “No ma’am, but there are these marks that indicate injection wounds, something you’d likely get if you’d take a stimpack” Corporal Watson replied. “Hell even if a mutie would bite this guy, never in a million years he’d turn into one of ‘em, I’ve been bitten by muties so many times that I’ve lost count yet I never turned into one! Worst that could happen to ya is get severely injured or get poisoned”
“Y’see muties are much like wild animals, their actions are driven by their survival instincts and most of ‘em won’t attack unless provoked to do so, this is just straight up feral! Now that I’ve think about it, I’m starting to doubt that the creature from earlier wasn’t even a mutie”
“It’s quite hard to get a good glimpse of what the creature really looks like but if I remember it correctly, thanks to the light provided by the explosions of the mines, the creature seemed more like an amalgamation, like multiple entities merged into one, I’m more than a hundred percent sure that I saw multiple human torsos sticking out of the creature and my eyes never once deceived me”
“Something’s terribly wrong with this place…”
We finished carrying all of the goods to the truck. “Alright people listen up! Our ride is ready and so our supplies! The only problem now is to find and rescue our comrades! To prevent more casualties, I’m ordering most of the squad to stay here and be on lookout. In case we don’t make it back, you already know what to do, got it?” “Yes Ma’am!” The troops answered.
“We’re dealing on some kind of unknown anomaly, remain vigilant!”
“And before I forgot, always aim for the head”
Me, Ren, Corporal Watson and two other troops whom I didn’t know were tasked on finding and rescuing our enslaved comrades, we geared ourselves up with the equipment we could find in the armory, aside from weapons, other equipment were also available such as armor, light and radios. The other troops wish us the best of luck.
The church was colossal in nature, it was easy to get lost, since we aim to minimize more casualties, instead of splitting up to make the search faster, we decided to remain in a group. My body begins to shiver as we left the armory knowing the fact that we are facing an unknown horror lurking, waiting for us as we set foot.
