The line of document ran through his mind, flashing like a strobe Darcia's face kept laughing at him as he tried to reach for her. Grunting with effort, he glanced at the screen again, seeing the line of words in the document before looking back at his sister.
"Have to ..." he strained against the cold metal clamps keeping him in place, "... tell them."
Darcia's face appeared above him, smiling her old warm smile, "You will, brother dear," she whispered, "but right now it has to be undone ..." she pointed at the screen, "read ... read the entire thing."
Turning his head, he read word for word, finally finishing the paragraph to feel a searing pain slice through his mind; panting, he finally broke free, pushing up into a sitting position and opening his eyes, "Have to tell them ... Madden has replacements ... for everyone."
"Craig, breathe," Hanna said, standing next to the bed, her hand on his shoulder, "you said Madden has replacements for everyone ..." she whispered, "...who is everyone?"
"Everyone that Darcia created," Craig whispered in horror, "she found out he was making replicas which would answer only to himself and his two creations ..." Craig looked at Hanna, pure horror in his gaze, "Darcia found out he was going to replace everyone ... which means the place I found ..."
"They're preparing for an invasion," she nodded, "okay ... I'll tell Breanna. You need to rest."
"I can't do that," Craig said, slowly moving to rise from the bed, "there is information they don't have ... won't have ... cannot get to ..."
The infirmary door swung open, bringing John and Gina into his area; he paused as his feet hung from the bed. Something about the pair seemed suspicious, but more than that, "What's going on?"
Gina looked around, "Has Tina been here yet?"
"Not today," Hanna said, "why?"
"Gina has been doing ... research and came across something that Craig may ...." he paused, looking at Gina and motioning for her to move forward and show Craig, "... just show him."
Craig frowned as the nervous child stepped forward, handing him an open laptop and stepping out of range, "What am I looking at?"
"Look at the highlighted line," Gina whispered, "I heard what you said when you came in and remembered something, but I don't think the ... those looking into the matter would have thought of looking ..." she cleared her throat, "... well ... where I looked."
"How did you get into this file?" Craig asked, "I don't even have clearance to see this ..." he looked at Gina then, "...you can hack ... can't you?"
Gina closed her eyes, grimacing before nodding, "How much trouble am I in?"
"None," Craig whispered, "this is important information and has not been seen by those who matter. It's ... copied ..." he glanced at Gina, who nodded, "... and secured somewhere ...." she nodded again, "what else did you find?"
"Birgit, did you pull these files from somewhere?" Valencia asked.
"What files?" Birgit asked, looking at the screen, "no ... where did you find them?"
"In this folder we created to secure any information we find," Valencia said, "but ... if you didn't find them and I didn't..." she paused, "who put them there?"
Valencia asked the question again, calling out to the team around them, working hard, but no one knew anything about the documents.
"Do we have a document form of a fairy godmother?" Birgit asked.
"I ... don't think so," Valencia said, pulling up the information attached to the document, "it looks like someone placed the new info into the folder ... from somewhere else I cannot get into ..." she muttered as her fingers flew, "... and it's a secure site ... and server ... whoever did this is extremely skilled."
"You're talking about a hacker," Birgit said, "I don't know about you, but I don't know of anyone with that skill level."
"Yeah, neither do I," Valencia whispered, "or we do, and we just don't know they could hack ... look ... more documents and information is appearing, but I cannot latch onto where it's coming from."
"Val, I got the location of the IP address," Iris called from her station, "it's in the infirmary."
"What?" Valencia and Birgit said in unison.
"Yep, it's in the infirmary, and whoever is doing this and handing us all of this on a silver platter is still there," Iris said, waving her hand toward the exit, "go .. find out ... we need to know if its friend or foe."
Valencia secured her station and ran from the tech room, leaving an exasperated Iris shaking her head and typing quickly on her laptop.
Racing toward the infirmary, Valencia / Birgit hoped they could discover the source of the information before they disappeared. Ducking past a few ambling people in the passages, they continued quickly, reaching the infirmary out of breath and bursting through the doors; looking around, the only person with a laptop or computer was Gina, sitting on Craig's bed next to him working away.

"Is she ..." Birgit spluttered and panted, pointing at the child, "could she...?"
"I think so," Valencia whispered, moving them toward the suddenly alert child, "we need to do more active exercise, Birgit."
"Yeah, I noticed you're unfit," Birgit said, grinning as Valencia scoffed.
"Craig, I think they have uncovered my location," Gina whispered to Craig as her hands stilled, "should I stop?"
"No, carry on," Craig whispered back, "I'll talk to them."
Nodding, Gina put her head down, and her fingers flew over the keyboard as Craig looked up and smiled, "You found our little hacker."
"She's the hacker?" Birgit asked, "We thought ..." looking around at the other beds and occupants, they moved closer.
"Wow," Valencia said as she watched Gina work, "where did you learn to do this?"
Gina remained silent, but John cleared his throat from the chair he rested in, "Gina can retain incredible amounts of knowledge when she was ..." he rolled his eyes before continuing, ".... playing .... she would be around those doing things they shouldn't or filing information or ... hacking. She became very good at it very quickly, so they used her to do it and taught her more as she needed it," John said, "what they didn't know was she was reading everything she came across and knew things they didn't even dream of never mind know it was happening."
"Why did she start doing this now?" Birgit asked.
"Something I said about a flaw when coming in injured," Craig said, looking past them toward the infirmary door, "and ... it looks like Bre was informed as well ... I'm guessing by you two," Craig said, looking at David and Phoenix.
The pair nodded, "We didn't know about Gina," David said, "what is she doing?"
"Getting us highly classified information," Craig said, "I'm not even sure Michael knows about this ... but he should."
"Why?" Breanna asked.
"His chain of command may be more corrupt than he wants to acknowledge," Craig said, "and it's a good thing we have gone dark."
Phoenix opened his laptop, pulling up the file Valencia had made, "She's storing it all here."
Breanna leaned a hand against the table while scrolling through the information, "Craig, what document did you read to clear your mind of any other procedures?"
"One which Madden was putting together to send to another facility," Craig said, "in it, the wording states that he is making replicas of each of us ..." Craig sighed, "and the place is worked and looks like a prison ... to lure us in and the exchanges will happen when we arrive to put everything back in order."
"Where is this place?" Breanna asked.
"I have the location," Gina said, "transferring now..." she nodded to Breanna, who bent again and looked at the location. "It is also the location Michael was given to house our prisoners."
"I need to warn him," Breanna said, pacing away and pulling up her phone.
"Good job," Craig whispered in Gina's ear, "I'm proud of you."
The child smiled at the praise, her cheeks blushing a soft pink as her fingers continued to fly before stilling and looking up at Valencia / Birgit.
"I found the information you were looking for on that abbreviation. I'll put it in the file," Gina said, "you'll need to work fast to get the information out."
Nodding, Valencia / Birgit moved toward the laptop pulling open the file and reading quickly, "Jesse," Valencia gasped, opening a comms link on the computer and rapping on the table with her fingers until Jesse answered.
"Val ... what's up?" Jesse asked.
"Where are you? Right now?" Birgit asked.
"I'm nearly at the location for the prisoner drop-off," he said, "why?"
"It's a trap," Valencia said, "you need to stop your vehicle right now and leave it where it is," she said urgently, "you have seconds."
"Okay," he said; they waited as they heard movement and soft huffs of running, "I'm in the roadside foliage," he whispered, "what is going on?"
"You need to move further away," Birgit said, quickly reading the rest of the information, "they have ... mortars ... that will fire on anything past the point you went about ten minutes ago. They will destroy everyone and the vehicle .... Jesse, you need to move .... now!"
"Moving," Jesse said, "I'll contact you as soon as I'm somewhere safe."
The line went dead, and Valencia sobbed, "It's okay, Val... I'm tracking him."
Nodding, she waited as Birgit kept their eyes on the screen, watching Jesse's satellite phone connection blink every few moments as he moved away from the area.
"He seems to be moving fast," Phoenix said, "how fast can he run?"
"If the process of the flaw has gone through the implementation stage to save his life or in the process of implementation..." Gina said absently, ".... faster than humanly possible without any extra strain on the body or organs."
Phoenix looked from the child to Craig, raising his eyebrows questioningly; Craig shrugged, "I'm sure she will find the evidence you require."
"I have," Gina said, "in the file," she pointed at the laptop once more and continued working.
Hanna watched from the side of the room, shaking her head, "Incredible," she whispered.
"It's a marvel to watch her work," John said, "it gives me a chance to watch everyone else."
Hanna smiled at John, "You truly are a big brother," she said, "pity you're not related."
John sighed, and the smile slipped from his lips, "We are," he whispered, "Gina just doesn't remember."
"Why not?" Hanna asked, squatting next to the chair.
"Madden thought it would be a better use of her ... abilities if she didn't feel any emotional connection," John sighed, "for a while, it worked, but she eventually gravitated toward me anyway, and Darcia... the original ... kept us together, also I'm the only one who can calm her when she has a waking nightmare."
"Oh, that is helpful to be on hand when that happens," Hanna said, "what do you do while Gina holds all the attention?"
"Read the people," John said, "I think you would call it profiling ..." he glanced at Hanna before turning his attention toward the group of people in the small space, "for instance, the two men over there ... David and ...Phoenix I think he's called," John whispered, "their emotional state is so high they are barely seeing the gravity of the situation, which means ... they know more than they're saying ..." John's words trailed off as Phoenix turned toward him meeting his gaze and holding it, "...and I'm not permitted to tell you."
Hanna's eyes snapped from the child toward Phoenix; pushing to her feet, she moved toward Craig.
"Can Gina find out what we shouldn't know about the "flaw" and why it would cause David and Phoenix to stop John from telling me why they are worried?"
"No," Phoenix said, the word booming from his mouth, "... don't."
