Chapter 2

As Abbadon pondered upon Jin Fei’s memories, he became sympathetic of his misfortune, but his sympathy vanished soon after.

Abbadons own upbringing wasn’t the brightest either, he’d even killed quite a few people during his earlier years, which has made him how he is now, strong willed and cold-blooded. So although he can understand Jin Fei’s rage and sorrow, he wouldn’t divulge in the sympathy he had for him and instead disregard it as a fleeting moment.

His mind returned to Body Inscribing, and he was pleased with the required conditions because they suited his current situation perfectly. But the last condition would scare even the most insane of people, let alone himself, and so he hesitated, as every other being would. But as he hesitated, he steeled his resolve and decided upon cultivating it. Why? Because not only did he know that every risk had a reward, but that he also knew he didn’t have any other choice due to his current predicament, so instead of thinking about the consequences and hesitating any further, he readied his mind and soul for the calamity he was about to bring upon himself.

He closed his eyes and took long, deep breaths to calm himself, and as he did so, he went through the steps and procedures of entering the realm of Body Inscribing. As time passed, he came to understand what he must do, so he clenched his teeth and hands as hard as he could, while at the same time trying to tens every other inch of his body and detonated his soul in its entirety.

..

In order to cultivate Body Inscribing, all conditions must be met, nothing must be missing in order for the process to be successful, and the more thoroughly the conditions are fulfilled, the more easily one can enter the first realm.

The first condition prevents those who choose to become a Body Inscriptor, from exploding due to impure energy conflicting with soul energy within the body. The second condition lets the souls power and energy become one with the body, allowing full control of the ins and outs of the body, the less impurities present within the body, the more the soul can integrate with the body and the more power they can wield. The third condition allows their mind to focus and ignore the pain that comes with cultivating this method, for whoever walks the path of an Inscriptor, must accept whatever may come their way.

And the final condition, and also the most important condition, can make the procedure a failure or a success, why? Because without a strong enough soul, the soul will not be able to integrate with the whole body, preventing their body from even functioning properly. Without a strong soul, ones control over the energies will be weak, therefore preventing them from integrating inscriptions onto the body, making their body useless to a cultivator. A strong soul will allow a being the power Body Inscribing promises, but Abbadon’s soul bring about its utmost potential

..

After detonation, all the power within his soul scattered into all directions and his body felt all its muscles feel as though an explosion had occurred within, but all Abbadon felt was his consciousness blackening, his memories fading and his very being changing, but in order to prevent all of this, he steeled his will and made the scattered fragments of his soul refine themselves into a gaseous state, and slowly integrated into every inch of his muscles, filling them with an immense amount of energy and strengthening them beyond human capabilities turning his body into a weapon.

The process of refining and integration took days to complete but he stilled achieved success in the end, and as Abbadon awoke from his focus, instead of feeling exhaustion and fatigue, he felt invigorated and refreshed, as if he’d been reborn once again. He could now perceive every inch of his body structure, allowing him to attain a state of the body and mind becoming one.

He stood up and flexed his now naked body, and he noticed quite a few changes had occurred, his lean muscles now looked as though carved from the finest marbles, his lightly tanned skin had turned cream white and the skin itself had become as soft as a newborns skin, creating the illusion of a delicate body. He had also found he’d grown from 5’10 to 6’2 and his member had grown significantly as well. But the most distinct feature of his body that had changed the most was his face. His hair had elongated to his upper back and had changed from a brown black, to a pure black, making one think of the abyss when one looked at it. His face itself had become more defined, a chiseled jawline, a streamline nose, sharp eyebrows and high cheekbones. His face radiated a masculine and courageous aura, making him more handsome than one would imagine, but the most eye catching feature were his eyes, when noticed, they radiate a savage aura and the colour had changed into a red so dark it could be mistaken as black, but the colour only made his eyes seem that much more sinister, making his overall aura turn from someone masculine and heroic, to someone cold-hearted and demonic.

Although he’d only entered the first realm of Body Inscribing, the benefits it brought were astonishing. He could now sense every single cell within his body, his senses themselves had heightened to a new level and his body had become strong beyond belief, but as for how strong he’d become, he had no way of knowing. But entering was only the beginning.

After the integration, his first reaction was to stabilise and consolidate the energy within and make sure to set a concrete solid foundation, because he possessed the memories and experiences of Jin Fei, he knew how much a solid foundation means to a cultivator and so began his first step onto the martial path.

It took 6 days for the soul power to stabilise but it took a full month to compile the power into every cell of his body. Now he has begun contemplating what path he will take on his journey.

This book's true home is on another platform. Check it out there for the real experience.

Body Inscribing isn’t just inscribing runes onto the body, one must choose wisely as to what runes to imprint on the body, and once done it cannot be undone. The path one takes is all up to ones self, and although it can grant infinite power it has its limits. For example, a person who achieved mediocre results when crossing over to the first realm has a limit of 3 inscription runes before their body is at their full capacity of power, a genius with incredible results has a capacity of 7 runes, but someone with a perfect result has a limit of 13 runes. Of course as one progresses through the realms, you obtain more and more capacity to hold more runes but without a solid foundation and good results, even that has a limit. But this is not the end of it, although 13 isn’t a big number, it makes a huge difference. Although 13 is just an estimate, it only accounts for low tier runes.

The runes have 5 tiers, with each tier having their corresponding colour, and the higher the level the more rune slots it takes to inscribe onto the body, low-tier runes (White) take 1 slot, mid-tier runes (Green) 2 slots, high-tier runes (Blue) 3 slots, top-tier runes (Purple) 4 slots and God-tier runes (Black) take 5 slots.

With more power comes a consequence, trial and error, should you try to assimilate a Black rune onto your body and the rune rejects you, the backlash from the rejection could lead to either severe injuries, or death, the higher the tier, the more sentient the rune becomes. Of course should the rune accept you, the power it will bring will be immense and over powering, but even during the peak of its era, only a few over hundreds of thousands of years were given the chance to obtain the power of a God-tier rune.

As Abbadon saw the immense amount of runes one could choose to assimilate onto the body, his mind spun at all the possibilities, but the majority of them were low-tier runes which he chose to ignore in the end, but even then, there were just too many to choose from, some strengthened the skin itself, making it impenetrable, others transformed the body into a viscous beast, or even those that made the body explode upon death, which could kill all those within a specific radius.

As he looked through the different kinds of runes, he came across combination runes which allowed the body to combine different runes to obtain a power beyond the tiers level but the majority were trash combinations and the more Abbadon looked the more uninterested he became, until one rune set caught his eye, the demonic rune set, which consisted of 3 purple tier runes, the runes of flesh, blood and bone, each more sinister looking than the other, and when combined, the wielder himself becomes a demon akin to the devil himself.

Whilst reading about its description, he became more and more intrigued, but as he thought about it he chose to only assimilate one for now, as his current situation hindered his choice.

After choosing the rune to inscribe onto his body, he concentrated and visualised the rune whilst gathering the soul power within his body towards his chest and started to create his first rune, but whilst creating it, waves of killing intent washed over him and when he opened his eyes a world of blood and flesh greeted him, bodies littered the floor like the leaves would in fall, the smell both repulsing and sinister, and all that could be heard was silence, so eerie it gave one chills running down their back. Abbadon first became startled by the sight but as time went on he adjusted to the scene and got used to the smell before snapping awake and feeling a burning sensation coming from his chest, back and arms, but compared to the pain he’s been through it felt like a tickle rather than a burning sensation.

When the burn cooled down his chest had a large black slit that looked as though someone was about to rip his body apart, on his back was a small array formation that came in the form of 2 circles with a star, while in the middle of the star was an eye, small inscription were written all over the formation. His wrists gained inscriptions runes which read, “rip all apart with the power of flesh”.

Abbadon felt the power within him surge to another level, and being excited he activated the runes demonic power. The runes and tattoos flashed purple for a second before he felt his skin rip apart, and he blanked out before he regained focus again. He looked at his new form and nearly jumped out of his skin when he saw what his body had become. His body no longer had any skin on it, all you could see was flesh and muscle with blood slowly dripping, his elbows, knees and shoulders had gained thorns as long and as sharp as daggers while his fingers ended in claws and his knuckles had grown out of his muscles into a sharpened point. What was most noticeable was the amount of muscle he’d gained from the transformation, he’d grown much bigger but his muscles had remained lean and defined.

What Abbadon didn’t know was that the transformation made him much more stronger and robust. He towered at 8 feet tall and his head had deformed into that of a demons, he’d grown horns, and another set of eyes, while his mouth had become like that of a dragons, barring his sharp teeth naturally. It was a sight no one would want to behold.

After moving around a bit, he found he’d grown slower by a significant amount, but he could feel the strength surging within his muscles. But another downside was the drain on mental prowess and physical exertion, the longer he stayed within his transformed state, the longer he felt mentally and physically fatigued, so he changed back into his human form before falling onto the floor to recuperate, the drain of energy had a bigger impact than he had thought.

Once he recuperated, he first listed all the ups and downs to the transformation and he came to the conclusion that he had to make up for the disadvantages with runes. And although he was reluctant to spend the rest of his rune slots on the disadvantages, he didn’t have a choice.

He first obtained the rune of regeneration, a high-tier rune, which boosted the recuperation speed of both physical and mental prowess significantly, while also giving him the ability to heal faster than a normal human. It was burned into his skin in the symbol of a plus sign in the middle of his forearms.

As a test he transformed into his demonic form to test out his new runes affects, but the first thing he noticed was the absence of its ability. It seemed that some runes could not be used in coordination with others.Learning of that, he decided to choose his next runes wisely.

It took 5 hours before he finally decided on his last 3 runes, which were all green tier.

The first one was the rune of thought, which gave him faster thinking power and photographic memory, allowing him to calculate and think at a much faster rate. It integrated into his mind before disappearing.

The second rune, was the rune of explosive speed which boosted his speed with the use of small explosions of fire at the sole of his feet. The rune was of a spiral flame and was imprinted onto the soles of his feet.

The last rune, was the rune of impact, it granted unprecedented power, but it could only be activated upon impact as the name implied. The rune was imprinted onto the back of his hand, it was the size of a pingpong ball in the shape of a rhombus with cracks spreading out from the middle.
