Long ago, a small kingdom called Eden prospered inside a vast forest. The kingdom itself wasn’t special and probably would’ve been lost in history if it wasn’t for a certain event.
A thousand years ago, the entire populace of Eden vanished in a single night. To this day, no one knows how or why.
“Well the historians say they don’t know, but it’s quite obvious who the culprit is.”
“The Demon King?” Lighting flash across the sky which allowed me to see the man’s terrified expression for a split second.
“Yes, wasn’t it obvious? Only the Entities are capable of wiping a kingdom out in an instant.”
An audible gulp lifts from the man’s throat. It was satisfying seeing the hulking brute tremble in fear from my story.
“Aaron, stop trying to scare my men.” A pretty boy with long blonde hair walks towards the campfire.
“Sorry Alexander, I couldn’t help it.”
“Wait, you were messing with me?” The brute jumps to his feet and balls his fist. As expected of a brute, it seems he can only solve problems with his fists.
“Yea, I was messing with you, but I wasn’t lying. I really do believe the Demon King was responsible for Eden disappearance.”
“I can see the connection. The Demon King disappear the same time Eden populace disappear.” Alexander added.
“It definitely adds up.” Lighting once again flashes, brightening the abandoned building we hid in. Standing in the darkest corner of the room, a man wearing a white kimono stares out the window.
The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
A brute, a pretty boy, and a man that clearly doesn’t belong in this land. I get the feeling the story of how these guys met is far more interesting than the story I just told.
“!!!!”
“What the hell was that?” My eyes darted around every dark corner of the room, trying to find where the noise came from.
“It's probably the goblins from before.” The man in kimono said as he looks out the window. “They still sound far off, at least I think, this storm is making it hard for me to judge how far they are.”
“They’ve been following us this entire time. Shouldn’t we do something about them?”
“Only if they attack us, right now, we should save our strength. We got something much worse to deal with.”
“Huh? Want can be worst then goblins?”
“Isn’t it obvious?” A small smile form on the brute face.
“The Demon King,” Alexander concluded.
“What?! You guys plan on fighting the Demon King?!”
“Of course, why else would we come to these ruins?”
I guess that makes sense. The only reason why people would come to this dangerous ruin is that they’re either seeking dangerous thrill or they want to solve the mystery behind Eden’s disappearance. I fall into the latter; I have no intention of fighting the Demon King if he’s actually here.
“You guys are going to die you know, that right? The Demon King is an Entity. Which means he can’t be killed.”
“Yes, I’m aware of his immortality. The reason why the Entities are still in power is because no one can kill them, but that ends today.” Alexander pounds his fist together and glares at me like I killed his puppy. “I will dethrone the gods.”
These guys are crazy, but I guess I can’t say anything since I too want to see the Demon King. Well, I should say I want to find out why is he here? History says that the four Entities defeated the Demon King and imprisoned him and an unknown place, but it doesn’t look like he's trapped here. There’s no barriers or guards keep him in this place, which means he can walk out of here at any time. So why is he still here? Is he afraid to fight the Entities again or is there something else keeping him here?
“Aaron, will you join us?” Alexander extends his hand towards me while giving me a warm smile.
“Of course, I lead you guys out here; it would be rude of me to leave you here.”
For now, I’ll keep guiding these people, until I discover everything about this place and the Demon King.
