I woke up to blinding lights and a bunch of blurry figures standing around me. As my blurred vision started clearing, I could make out an interior filled with people gathered around me. They looked like... sorcerers?
Hold the fuck up. How did I even get here?! DId I die? I don't think so. The last thing I remembered was going to sleep. This must be a dream right? There is no way this is real right? Suddenly a message in red pops up in front of me.

Shortly after, the pop up was followed up by another one.

What the heck? Status? Universal Language? What does this all mean? As I read the pop ups I realize something very horrific. I really was summoned to another world. I thought this shit only happened in books! I should relax and figure out whether this is really a dream or not. I turn to one of the summoners. The summoners were dressed in white robes with a golden outline.
"Um excuse me... Where am I?"
The man turns to me and gives me a smile.

Hero? Wait what. As I turn around to view my surroundings, I'm met by a castle-like interior with a throne and pillars. Except for the sorcerers, the room only had one other person in it. The man sitting on the throne was probably the king. Maybe I should ask him why I was here.
"Sir, do you know why I am here?"
He looks at me and clears his throat.
"To defeat the demon king of course"

Saying those words are overused is an understatement. Seriously? Fine. Whatever. I follow up with another question.
"Will I be able to go home if I do?"
The king laughs.
"Of course not"
Wait what. Surely I must have misheard. Does that mean I won't be able to see my family again? Why SHOULD I even help help then?!
"Surely there is way. Right?"
The king looks at me with serious eyes.
"We'll provide you with anything you would ever want. Whether that be woman, money, land, or anything else you may desire"
I don't care about any of that! I just want to go back home! I don't want to be like those perverts in manga! I plead with the king.
"Please... Is there any way?"
The king grunts.
"Fine. We will try to find a way if you kill the Demon King"

The king lightens up with delight.
