34 - More Enemies

"Teemao I am going to the library, need anything before I go," there was really nothing he can do for him, but Majid couldn't leave him without saying anything, it was awkward for him to be privileged all of a sudden.

"No, I have what I need for now."

"Ok, try not to leave the school, or wander into secluded areas."

"Don't worry, I know how things work, ...brother," Teemao nodded before he went to the yard.

Majid smiled, "be careful, I bet that narrow-minded Fanli might pour his anger on you, look for Senior Han Bai or Master Guoro if anything happens, OK," indeed this guy grew on him like a little brother. He wanted to make sure he understood how serious the situation was, he can't imagine anything bad happens to him.

Walking in the yard, Majid could see Teemao plow and plant some seeds in the yard. He smiled contently before he hurried outside. He found his way into the Wisdom Pagoda, it was a 4 stories tower, with Chinese roofing style. Showing his inner disciple token to the guard, he was instructed to put it into a small stand, an array glowed before he took it back. 10 contribution points were deducted from his starter 50. He walked inside, nothing was out of the ordinary aside from the old style. Rows of racks fall of books stretched along with the flour, he took his time to familiarize himself with the classification system, asking his fellow disciples and reading indications.

"Haven't we met before," Majid jerked from his place, he rarely swore in his past life, yet in these few days in this city, he was desperate to do so. When the voice sank in, followed with a redhead with a pear-like face, the dam broke.

"You son of a bi*ch, has you marked me or something, you keep popping on my face like everywhere, f**k you the whole day..." of course he used Arabic to pour his frustration, it's been long since he used it, he let a content breath, no wonder people curse.

"What.. what," the boy was dumbfounded, "what was that."

"Can't you tell Liando, he cursed you," the gray-haired boy laughed, beside him, Lanru was smiling as well, the trio was complete.

"What, did you really curse me?" Liando looked back at him, his eyebrows knitted.

"Senior, and which of my words was a curse, I was just startled, spouting nonsense," Majid cupped his hand bowing slightly, "so if you excuse me," he turned and stepped away.

"Wait, wait," Liando stood in his way, his face got closer, and his eyes squinting, "I have this feeling I saw you before."

This bastard really, does he have a dog's nose or something, "Senior, we might have bumped into each other many times, there is nothing special about that, so if you excuse me."

"It's you."

F*ck, I was barely visible back then behind the branches, how did he recognize me.

"It's really you, the tree, one with the world thing, Suhan look isn't it him, right, right," Liando looked at the gray-haired boy excitedly.

Majid ground his teeth but couldn't deny it anymore and this scrutinizing already got on his nerves, whatever, "ah... you were the seniors from back then, what a small world, greeting seniors," he cupped his hand again, "so now you know, so if you excuse me, I have to pick a few books before my time is up, let's catch up another time."

"What, it's really him, Haha," Suhan pushed Liando to the side and replaced him looking at Majid.

"But wait... back then, you weren't even a cultivator, how came you made into the school." Suhan brows knitted, looking at the school uniform on Majid, "you, do you have a technique or an item to hide your Qi aura."

Majid's eyes twitched, "...yeah, indeed," but seeing the shock on their face, as they looked at each other, he regretted his impulse. It seems it would be harder to get rid of them now.

"An item or a technique?" the three of them tilted toward him.

"A technique."

"Junior, let me introduce myself, I'm Lanru, this one is Liando, Suhan, may I ask junior's name," Lanru smiled at him brightly, though she was young about 16 or something, he couldn't help but admire her, free of prejudices with his young body.

"Ah, this junior name is Maoji, I'm honored."

"The honor is mine, would junior be willing to share his technique, I can pay for it," she kept that killer smile on, fall of confidence.

"Maoji, this name feels familiar," Liando scratched his head.

This problematic fella, "I don't know, how about this, let me pick my books first, we can talk later after I give it some thought."

Lanru smile crumbled but she regained it as fast, "junior this was your first time here, right. Let me help, so we can continue our talk quickly."

Majid started to feel like this was a good opportunity, his technique wasn't that rare, sooner or later they would afford it, why not be the one profiting. He can exchange it for spirit herbs solving both of his problems in one go, and they can keep their hard-earned contribution points for other techniques, it was a win-win deal.

"Lanru, why are you catering to this ignorant bumpkin, you gave him the honor yet he's still arguing, we can take it later anyway," he looked at Majid with contempt.

After some consideration, Lanru nodded her head and backed away.

This novel's true home is a different platform. Support the author by finding it there.

Take it latter! what does that mean, "what do you mean by that Senior Suhan," he wanted to clear this misunderstanding, or so he hoped.

"Boy you better hand the technique while we're asking for it nicely, and we can give a fair price."

He looked at Lanru and a cold stare received him, Oh boy so that angelic face was just for show, and here I thought she was a fairy. Male or female, old or young, he learned again the cruelty of this world, only power matters.

"Fair, this is not the way to ask for a fair deal isn't it," he stole a glance at Lanru with empty eyes, before he looked back at Sohan.

"If you really want my technique, be prepared to pay the price I want, I already have a Hall Master at my throat, I don't mind adding a few mere disciples."

Majid words poured coldly, he could take insults, contempt, but the one thing he can't, taking forcefully what is justly his, his blood boiled under his cold appearance.

"That's it, you're the one who offended Master Fanli, right" Liando stamped on his palm.

"Lanru, I told it's no use talking to him, look this moron even offended an Elder of your sect," both Sohan and Lanru looked at him, letting out what he assumed, was killing intent.

"Is it really you," Lanru looked him up and down.

"Indeed."

"How about you gave me the technique, I'm a disciple of Elder Jubi, one of the great elders in my clan, I would ask Master Fanli for you, he would do me a favor," this time she looked at him coldly.

This girl isn't as simple as I thought, she's shrewd indeed.

"Listen here, words are free, I don't trust them."

"Lanru it's useless, let's handle him later," Lanru nodded at Sohan leaving behind a cold stare at him before she turned away to go.

"Wait Seniors, can I ask, how are you intending to handle me."

Sohan smirked, "scared now, you will know then."

"For the last time Senior, what's your intentions," seeing as Suhan has no intention to say anything, "Is that so, then I assume you're after my life," he looked at them one by one "if you showed before my eyes, be prepared to leave yours as well, if you excuse me then," you better not force my hands.

The three of them looked at each other dumbfounded, they looked at his back as he walked away carefree, his eyes sizing the shelves.

"This moron," Sohan couldn't understand, they were all 8th level, yet he dares speak such nonsense.

"Why did you have to threaten him, are we bandits, now he wouldn't sell it for us no matter what we did," Liando shouted at Sohan.

"He offended Lanru Elder, so it's just fair we handle him, besides that bastard didn't give us face..."

Majid could hear their quarrel so he saw Liando in a new light, he was the only one of the trio who might have a sense of justice in him. Looks can be trusted some times, other times, they are but a dangerous illusion.

"Anyway, wasn't his eyes' color different," Liando scratched his head.

This MF, just when Majid started to have a good feeling about him, he shook his head and ignored them completely. He focused on the task at hand, looking for the subject of his interest. He collected some books about the core realm, satisfied, he headed to the exit leaving behind a cold stare as his last warning.

Majid mood was ruined, his enemies counter kept increasing, and Fanli angerometer must be on the rise since the incident spread despite his effort to hide it. All this was unnecessary enmities, he came to the city to make allies. What the heck is this, but these people are just really unreasonable, Yoh overseer, send me back home, please. He always found those old fogies, or young arrogant masters in novels nonsensical, but in a world ruled by power in every corner, it was all too real, damn it. He really needed some meditation to calm down, and it just so happens the Cultivation Pagoda was his next stop. He found himself before a long pagoda, it was the same Style as the Wisdom Pagoda, just a little bigger. Cultivation was one of the main activities in the school after all. He checked in his entry with his token to harvest those scarce contribution points here before he entered the first flour. A wide-open space with many pillars holding the roof, disciples scattered around, most of them were students of the first year, silently cultivating. A big array was drawn on the floor, emitting dim light. He found himself a discreet corner behind a boulder and he sat as well, cultivating and reading his books.

He was called back, as the Seniors gathered the new disciples of their faction and filled them in more detail. Majid loved the system of this school, there weren't any obligatory courses, you read and train whatever you want. They have 2 chances each week to consult their master, of course, the Master can gather them some times to check on them, each year's milestone was advancing 2 levels and breakthrough to the core formation by last year, failing result usually in expulsion.

After 10 days of cultivating in the pagoda, his reserve viscera pills was consumed. Teemao didn't disappoint him though, he provided medicines he prepared. They harvested some spirit herbs during their journey to the city. He spent his whole time in the Cultivation Pagoda, most disciples used at most an hour before they go to temper their bodies, so some more and more people noticed him, in no time were able to associate him with Fanli incident, he became famous as the crippled or the waste.

"What a moron, instead of tempering his body like crazy, he's wasting his time here,"

"He trying to break through, he said before he was trying to cultivate like a beast, what a joke,"

Few sympathized with him, and most of them mocked him, some psychos even waited for the fireworks when he tries to breakthrough. Majid ignored them completely what can he do, indeed after some time, the disciples started to lose interest in him.

Their medicinal resources eventually ended, after a few days. Majid still has quite a lot of money on him, unfortunately, the school didn't sell the resources for money but contribution points. But leaving the school wasn't an option yet, he can see Fanli men's still following him around.

The time wasn't able to cool Fanli's anger, instead, he was boiling, fuming, he was infuriated that he couldn't deal with that animal up until now. He wanted to finish the job fast, so he can turn the page, yet it kept dragging and dragging, that wimp didn't leave his hole, he didn't take a step outside the school for 2 weeks now, and it didn't seem he was going to do it anytime soon. That damned Guoro, if it wasn't for him.

Majid couldn't ignore the problem of the medicines after the theories he built from his researches, he decided to train his Vescera Level. Since the core was formed in the Dantian, the viscera bore the brunt of it. So his financial problem rose to the top of his priorities. He stopped reading books, and spent in the pagoda cultivating and scribbling, preparing for his business. The system note interface helped a lot, he didn't have to look for paper.

Three days flashed one after the other, and their resources finally ended, but his product wasn't ready yet. He was confident, though, with the progress he made.

"Shouldn't we go buy some spirit herbs, are we gonna be holed here forever," Teemao couldn't wait to buy more herbs, he got used to their prosperity this few days.

"Just use the spirit stones to cultivate, for now, just a bit more, I have something good planned."

He postponed resources acquisition for a few more days and focused on his preparations and after the third week ended he was ready. He got some papers from his Senior Han Bai, prepared a charcoal pen and went back to his house.

He sat in a corner, a board was before him, he hung the paper on it. His was solemn, his eyes shone before his hand moved like the wind, waving on the paper, stroke after stroke, a picture gradually grew. Teemao was curious, he came over to see what Majid was upto again. He was denied though until the latter finished his work. He grudgingly waited to the side unable to even cultivate. An hour passed, Majid finished the last touch, and grabbed the paper before him,

"I have done what I could, all is up to fate now," he nodded contently.

"Teemao, came over, are you ready."

"What do I need to ready myself for, It's not like you put some sword intent, or something-" before he finishes grumbling his accumulated grief. Majid turned the paper, Teemoo tilted his neck, his face neared the paper looking intently, suddenly his eyes grew wide.

"What… what.. what is this sorcery," Teemao faltered as his nose bled.

A smirk plastered on Majid's face, "yup, this more powerful than a sword intent, isn't it."
