Well, that took much longer than I expected, but I'm finally coming back.
I'll be posting new chapters starting Monday, April 3rd.
I plan to keep to the five chapter per week schedule that's listed in the story's description, but since it's Writathon again (and since I've been away for so long), I might try to post a chapter every day for the first two weeks I'm back. No promises on that though; it'll depend on how I'm feeling and on how long the regularly scheduled chapters are.
Now that that's out the way, the rest of this update is about why I've been gone for so long.
Previously, I mentioned that I'd caught Covid. At the time, I said that my symptoms weren't that bad, and that remained true. I recovered about two weeks after posting the last update. I figured I'd rest for another week to make sure I was completely past everything and then start writing again, but unfortunately, during that week, I started showing new symptoms. Fatigue, sore throat, swollen uvula.

It took another two weeks before I started to feel better, and let me tell you, that was the absolute most fun I've had while being sick (that was sarcasm). It was certainly an experience to fall asleep every night wondering how many times I'd wake up having trouble breathing because the dangly bit of flesh at the back of my throat decided to be an asshole and block an airway.
But now, the fatigue and swollen uvula are gone. Unfortunately, my sore throat never completely left, but it has been slowly getting better. It's basically diminished to the point where I only feel it in those first few minutes when I wake up in the morning, and since it's been like that for a while, I figure that I'm as healthy as I'm gonna get in the immediate future. Any more rest will drive me a bit insane.
So, I took some time to sort out all the other life stuff that being sick delayed and messed up, and now, finally, I have the chance to start writing again.
I want to thank anyone who's still with me and Deckmaster after this unexpectedly long (and justifiably annoying) hiatus. I'm excited to continue sharing the story with you all.
See you with a new chapter on Monday.
