Sofia woke up screaming in agony and pain in a field of red poppies under a starry night sky. Once she collected her thoughts and could breathe normally again, she looked around with fear, the last thing she remembered was being in her car driving home after a long day in the office. Sofia pushed herself from the ground, careful not to ruin any more poppies than necessary, brushing the dirt off her long-sleeved shirt and dark dress pants.
She looks around her surroundings trying to find any hint of where she is or if there is help nearby. Sofia was surprised that a few feet away was a simple red door with a dark metal handle. On the door was a carving of an unlit candle. Next to the door was a small dark oak table with an old lantern and a box of matches at the table's edge. The lantern looked like it belonged to the Victorian age.
Sofia circles around the door, wondering how it was still standing so perfectly with no support. She grabbed the handle to see if the door could even open. Once Sophia opened the door a shiver ran down her spine. The door reveals a dark chasm that felt unsettling for her even to look at. There was the sound of faint screams coming from inside. Goosebumps began to appear on Sofia’s tan skin as the hair on her arms rose in fear.

“What the fuck is going on?” she muttered to herself.
She was understandably freaking out, as nothing was making sense to her.
What was with the door?
How did she get here?
Why is she here?
Sofia shouted for help. Screaming for someone to help her, or at least explain what the hell was going on. Sofia tried going different ways to find help herself or anything that would help her find a way back home, but everywhere she went, the red door was in front of her along with the lantern.
She shivers in fear. There seemed to be only one way for her to go.
She didn’t want to, but if she wanted to find out what was happening and find her way out of the poppy fields, she must go through the red door.
There was no other option.
Sofia grabs the box of matches and lights the candle inside the lantern. She looked inside the door again. Wiping the sweat from her brow, she walked inside ever so carefully and quietly. Once she's inside the abyss, the red door slams shut, locking her inside.
There is nowhere to go except forward.
Guided by the dim lantern, she walked toward the howling wind hoping to find this dark abyss's exit
