Death God's Mortal Life
The Meeting with the King

The Meeting with the King

"haaaaaahhhh" Death sighed. "Why must the youngest always cause trouble?"

Looking around his empty domain as if expecting an answer to pop out of nowhere, Death sighed again. "well not much I can do to change his mind and this way some of my plans can be realised, hopefully."

His rumimations ended when a glowing green portal opened in the middle of the room. Out of this portal stepped an ancient and fossilized leg. The flesh long since gone and rotted away with not a trace of it left. Flowing up from this leg a skeleton appeared standing nude and with not a traceof clothing.

"Oi!" Death cried "what happened to your clothes?"

"they were destroyed mid-transport due to flucuations surounding this place" a raspy bone dry voice echoed "besides embillishments are boring"

"still it would be nice if you ware something" Death lectured the skeleton. The skeleton merely rolled the blume flame in its eye sockets at the God.

"oh well" Death said, spinning around "I invited you here today to talk over a friendly game of Rulers". As he was speaking two chairs and table with a game eerliy similar to chess appeared. Taking a seat at one side he gestured for the skeleton to take the other.

"Fine, I'll entertain you but the information better be worth it" the skeleton repiled.

Taking a seat at the table the two began a series of matches quite similar to chess except with a few new rules:

Kings have a new ability called Orders with which they can change the way the game is played:

1. Pawns Marching Order: Requirements: 4 or more pawns: Skip a turn and pawns can move two spaces

2. Castle Defence: Requirements: 2 Rooks: Skip a turn and ignore all checks for 3 turns

3. Knights Charge: Requirement: 2 Knights: Skip a turn and next turn Knights can take anyone they move over and land on

4. Bishops Conversion: Requirement: 2 Bishops: Skip a turn and for the next three turns any time a bishop takes a piece (except a queen or another bishop) you may place the same piece in one of four sqaures around the bishop (not diagonal) in your colour

5. Queens Sacrifice: Requirements: 1 Queen: Remove your queen from the game and remove any 3 pieces (except enemy Queen or King) from the enemies forces

6. None of these abilites may be activated while in check

After losing 15 rounds to the skeleton, Death began to speak "The rumors are true, I am to become a mortal and walk upon my world with a flesh and blood body." The skeleton focused on the game as if it hadn't heard him. "Light tried to claim ownership through the most population, however, the undead out number the living 60 to 1 so his claim was void." The skeleton made a tch noise when Death took an important piece. "Using this new information he went to his older brothers and sisters to force a vote to get me to leave or at least abicate." Death showed an annoyed expression as the skeleton put him in check "anyway, the three race gods, Eluvian, Mirror of heaven and god of the elves, Stonehammer, Master Craftsman and god of dwarves, and Ganondorf, Lord of Monsters and god of the beastkin sided with Light. While Lycranie, Master of Mana and Origin of Magic, Conan, Lord of War and origin of Qi and Selene, Queen of Peace and Goddess of Love, sided with me"

"I'm not the tie breaker am I?" asked the skeleton

"Heavens, no" Death laughed "we had someone much more qualifed to break it: The Creator himself!" The skeleton focused back on the game and saw that it had lost ground against Deaths forces. "He was the one who decided for me to be mortal, and depending on the experience, wether to hand the world over to Light or not after i regain my godhood."

"how will you do that?" the skeleton asked curious

"Simple, there is a set amount of times I'm allowed to die before reclaiming my immortality." Death answered

"Do you know how many?" the skeleton asked as he took Deaths knight and put him in check

"only the minimum: one for each god and race."

"so 11." the skeleton said

"your forgetting that in my world Undead are considered a race and I myself am still a god" Death retorted

"13" came the skeletons brisk reply

"as I said that's at minimum." Death explained "I don't know the maximum."

They both fell silent as they played the game.

"so what is it you want with me?" the skeleton asked after finally losing to Death.

"I want you to meet my mortal self and safe guard him from Lights schenanigans." Death said staring into the skeletons blue flame.

"With the amount of mortals born each year, how am I ment to do that?" Came the skeletons logical reply

"I won't be born." Said Death "Instead they will place me next to village of my choosing with no memories at all."

"Name of the village?"

"Arkolanth"

The skeleton hissed at Death, the noise sounding all the more ominus with the fact that every bone whistled at the same time. "That village is dead and gone!" the skeleton cried rising angrily

"Yes, it is." Death calmly stated while staring at the skeleton "and the fact that a living human will show up around it will terrify the local populace."

The skeleton seemed to be trying hard not to unleash its anger upon Death. After staring at each other intermittently the skeleton gave up. "Fine I shall have my forces search the area and safe guard you upon arrival."

"thank you, Lich King." Death said with all the feelings of gratiude he could muster.

"You owe me, Death." The Lich King replied

"incedently," Death asked "Why do you go by 'King'? you are obviously female."

"SHUT UP!" the Lich King cried as she stormed through the portal back to the mortal plane.
