"You know, when I accepted your deal, this isn't what came to mind."
Grim currently sat on the red leather couch, sipping a glass of wine while currently sifting through reports about the expenditures of his company over the past week. Standing to his right was Jade, red faced and in a maid outfit.
"Well, when I said to wear that, I didn't expect you to actually do it. Though it definitely is a sight." Grim said, smirking evilly.
Jade's reaction was to take the reports she was holding and hit him in the back of the head before turning and walking off.
"I'm going to go change. Let me know if there's anything you need." Jade called, her voice fading as she left through the door.
Grim smiled before pulling his phone out of his pocket and smiling at the image he saw. Sitting there was a man bound and gagged, lacerations on his arms that were obviously made with the sole intention of causing pain. He looked beaten severely as well, his body covered in black and blue bruises. Another message comes through, this time causing his eyes to gleam with a malice very few people could comprehend.
'What should we do with this Tanner boy now?'
After just a few moments of thought, Grim fires back a command.
'Finish him."
Hearing a door creak behind him, Grim quickly powered off his phone and set down his reports before turning to the presence that turned out to be Jade.
"Did I interrupt an important phone call?" Jade asked with curiosity.
"Not at all. In fact, I was just finishing up with these. Now, I've got to use the bathroom. After I get back, we have a meeting to attend, so I'd like these organized again."
With that, the mysterious man left the room and closed the door behind him, leaving Jade on her own. Jade, having had to work hard her entire life, was able to quickly organize the documents in question.
However, she noticed the sleek black phone on the couch and picked it up, turning it on. Seeing it was locked, Jade frowned slightly. That frown was quickly dispelled when she plugged something similar to a USB into the charging port and the phone became accessible almost instantly. She looked through his email, seeing nothing out of the ordinary, and the same went for his messages. However, she saw a unique app and went to open it, but before she could heard a flush and unplugged the phone, dropping it back where she found it.

"Are you ready to go? If you aren't then I'm sure we have some spare time."
Jade shakes her head and gathers up the reports before heading to the door.
"We're ready. All we have to do is head downstairs to the driver and we'll be there just in time." Jade tells Grim, although slightly impatiently.
Grim nods and grabs his coat, glancing at his phone in confusion for a split second. However, he ignores the bothersome feeling over him and grabs the device, stuffing it into his side pocket before heading to the door. Jade follows suit, snatching an umbrella from the nearby stand and heading to the main hall all while Grim smiled to himself. She went ahead of him, opening her umbrella as the outdoors were revealed to be in a downpour.
"Are you sure you want to walk there, Grim?" Jade asks hesitantly.
Grim hums out an affirmation, stepping next to Jade and taking the umbrella from her.
"I'm sure. Besides, I've always adored the rain. Washes away the filth and grime, leaves everything fresh. Wouldn't you agree?"
Jade shakes her head almost immediately, denying any agreement with that statement. Grim notices but decides not to mess with her too much about it, instead just giving off a simple remark.
"Well, I suppose everyone doesn't share my view on rain, but that's acceptable too. To have one's own opinion is the mark of an intelligent human." Grim states nonchalantly.
Jade smiles, knowing exactly why Grim would state such a thing. However, she chooses to not voice her thoughts on the matter, allowing a comfortable silence to come over the two as they begin walking to their workplace. As they get to a crosswalk, they begin to cross. Unfortunately, as the noise begins to pick up, Jade slips and falls as oncoming traffic approaches her. Grim doesn't notice quickly, walking a few more feet before turning in panic. As the truck fills Jade's view, she closes her eyes to wait for an impact...
That would never come.
When she opens her eyes, she is standing beside Grim, stationary. She notices what seems to be the faint glow from before rapidly fade from his eyes as he crosses his arm, the umbrella still above them.
"Did you save me just now?" Jade asks, stunned.
"What are you talking about? You just suddenly stopped walking, so I had to come back for you. Now, shall we continue?" Grim asks her, a well hidden smile on his face.
After a few moments, Jade has no choice but to rubs her eyes and refocus before nodding. Satisfied with her non-verbal response, Grim starts walking with her again, this time slightly closer to her side. She stares back as she walks though, confused as to what had really just happened.
Had she really just stopped walking? Or had something just happened? And if it did, why would Grim hide it?
These thoughts were still ever present in her mind, but there was still nothing she could do to try and find the truth. If it happened to her and she didn't know what happened, it was doubtful that others would have seen it either. After a few moments it seemed, she was tapped on her shoulder and shocked out of her trance.
"We're here. It seems you were spacing out. Well then, are you ready? I have decided that you will assist me in my presentation. Are you up for that, or do you need more time?" Grim asked, great care evident in his voice.
"I'm ready. And even if it wasn't, this is a big chance for me." Jade replies curtly.
"Good. I'm impressed once again. Well, let us head in."
Jade nods and follows just behind Grim, heading straight into her first official meeting as his assistant.
