Episode 6: "On The Floor."
"Here you go!" Alicia smiled at the customer, her heart racing a milion times a minute. She placed a strawberry delight sundae in front of them.
She was the new girl. To customers and co-workers alike.
"Oh! Somebody order a doctor!" They teased.
Alicia smiled. "I know right! He's off duty!"
They smirked. "You on duty?"
Alicia laughed again. "Only for work!" Oh please not again! she thought.
They chuckled. "Thank you, dear."
"No problem!" she turned away, they eyeing her butt.
"She seems to be working out fine." Delilah said. "Hasn't tripped yet."
"Were you expecting her to? She's not wearing heals?" A crimson haired girl spoke.
Julia rolled her eyes as she placed her tray down and placed another customer's order on it. "It's whatever. As long as she stays out of my way."
"Likewise." Delilah spoke.
"Kind of hard when you're shadowing her." The girl spoke again.
"Shut up, Daya!" she growled and walked toward Alicia.
She was serving another customer.
She on more than one occassion was tempted to trip the girl, or cause her to spill something, but once again, she couldn't. And she wouldn't be able to as long as she was Christian's girl. But, she could make her want that. That one special thing she did. That would pay off for all the things she couldn't do to her.
"Delilah?" she turned to her.
"So, how are you holding up?" She asked, casually walking by her side.
"Good, so far. No trips or mishaps."
I know!!! She thought. "That's good." she said. "The customers seem to like you, especially the men."
"I've noticed that." She placed the tray down on the counter.
The moment she stepped out, guys hooted and hollered. Saying things like, 'I need a doctor!' or 'Swing it over here, little one!'.
One guy even had the audacity to pull her into his lap.
Julia and Delilah laughed while Ricky had to intervene, saying that if he harrassed a worker again he'd have to leave.
So far there were no other incidents.
Christian appeared from the back and this time it was the womens' turn to holler in approval.
Roycel rolled his eyes as he wiped a glass.
"Roy, come sit with us!"
"No, come sit with me!"
He chuckled softly and smoothly eyed Alicia as he passed.
Alicia watched him give hugs to all the women who wanted him, take selfies, and even sit with some of them. Even some of the men begged for his attention, offering him a drink on them.
"Wow, he's really popular here. Do they know he's the boss?" Alicia asked.
"Hmm, yes and no." Delilah said. "Some know, most feel he's the company's playboy."
"So is he?" Alicia asked.
Delilah turned to her. "Why don't you see, Alicia? You'll definitely be in his presence."
She said nothing and turned away from her. She was waiting for the customer's order. So far they had her serving, greeting, and seating customers. It was pretty easy.
She didn't care for the fact that there were moments where the workers would just watch her work. And Ricky allowed it. She may have been the superviser, but she seemed to let a lot of things slide. When it came to the person's personality that is.
There was a soft buzzer that went off when an order was ready. She turned to see Daya and Julia carry over baskets and plates of food. Fries, chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks, pizza, steak and the list continued on. The buzzer went off again.
Alicia placed people's orders on her tray, Delilah assisting. They would know who got what by a toothpick with a piece of paper wrapped around it with the table's number on it.
Coming to a certain table, a guy chuckled.
"It's about time! Delilah when were you ever going to come and visit me?"
"I'm busy!" she giggled. "How ya been?"
"Oh, you know how I've been." He winked.
Alicia kept a smile on her face as she placed their food on the table.
"Oh please." Delilah rolled her eyes. "You are never getting these goodies!"
"If only this was that type of cafe! I know you got rooms in the back."
If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
"I know right!" Delilah smiled and shook her head. "It is a shame." She turned away and he smacked her bottom.
"Oh!" the customers yelled. The guys shouted in approval.
She whirled around. Her butt stung. It was a hard smack.
Alicia had jumped in shock.
"Ron!" she yelled. "Now I appreciate your flattery but do not touch this body! I'll have to get the boss on you!"
"You don't sound too convincing babe." He winked.
"Maybe not. But I do have certain tastes in men and you certainly aren't it!" she whirled around and stalked away.
Alicia was stuck watching her go.
"You want some too? Little lady?" He turned to Alicia.
She looked to him. "Oh, no sir. Not at all." She smiled. "You all enjoy your meal."
"Awe, where you going? Come here!" He pulled her to him.
She gasped.
This was the second time she ended up in someone's lap.
"Please! Let go of me!" she yelled, struggling to get out of his grip.
"Hey guys, what do you say we have some entertainment!" He turned to his group.
"Uh man, I don't think that's such a good idea."
"Your friend is right." Christian had gotten up and walked over.
"Psht! Who do you think you are?! Every night these women swoon over you! What's the difference if I fondle a little maid of yours?" He gripped Alicia's breast.
She jumped.
Everyone looked on in shock.
"Get your hands off me!" She snatched up a hand and bit him.
"Ahh!" he released her and she nearly fell off him.
Christian caught her but she pulled away from him and ran to the back. The workers watched her go.
"Oh!" Ricky said, following her.
"I think that serves you right. Given how things could have went. Now I'm going to have to ask you and your party to leave."
"Oh come on man, we didn't do anything!"
"Yeah, I even said it was a bad idea." The other spoke.
"Then that's unfortunate. Next time you come, he will not be allowed to attend, or you will all be banned from this place of business. Now please, pack up your things. I will have a worker send over take out trays." Christian turned away from the table and began to walk away, his hands in his pockets.
"Man that's not fair! This is all your fault man! Had you kept your filthy hands to yourself this wouldn't be happening!"
The man's hand was burning. He eyed a beer bottle on the table. He broke it against the table, startling the guests.
"Oh! What's he gonna do with that!"
"Dude, put the bottle down-"
"Shut up!" he yelled and then lunged for Christian who had turned to face him. As he brought the jagged piece of bottle down upon him, Christian blocked his forearm with his hand. Narrowing his eyes some, he thought of sending him flying through the doors in one single punch, but that would draw unnecessary attention. He kept it simple and swiftly whirled his arm around, breaking it.
"Ahh!" he dropped the bottle, The rest of it shattered upon the floor.
He shoved him forward. His buddies moved out of the way. He stumbled onto the table, knocking over a drink and basket of fries.
Christian walked toward him, gripping the back of his neck.
He grunted as Christian pulled his head back.
He attempted to used his good hand when Christian pinched a nerve within it.
"Ahhhh!"
"Now you will walk up to the register and pay for the food in all your humiliation and if you don't..." Christian dislocated a finger to make a point.
"Ahh!"
"There's more where that came from." He said in his ear. "Nod if you understand."
"I ain't listenin' to you man!" he yelled.
"So be it." He said, swiftly dislocating his shoulder.
"Ahhh!"
He yanked the man across the room and threw him out the doors. He turned to his friends. "Get out. Now."
They obeyed without a word.
He heard them curse their now injured friend's name out.
He turned away. The music had been stopped due to the commotion. The lights were still flashing though. "I am truly sorry for what you have all just witnessed. As a courtesy from me, please enjoy all meals and drinks, and if wanted, one more free meal and drink on me."
"All right!" they yelled.
"That works for me!" another spoke.
"They should have fights more often!"
"Roycel, please, turn back on the music and ladies, please, continue assisting the customers. Within reason." He eyed all of the men. "If you will all excuse me." He walked toward the back, eyeing all of his workers. His eyes lingered on Delilah. "Are you all right?" he asked her.
She nodded. She smiled a little. "Do we get free drinks too?"
"Just this once." He said, staring at her a little longer and then went into the back.
Ricky bumped into him and shook her head. "Oh! Sorry! I can't get her to come out of the bathroom she's crying now. She asked if I could get her purse. I brought it to her and that's when she shouted 'Are you kidding me!' or something like that and just started to cry."
Christian walked around her and boldly walked into the bathroom.
"Oh!" Ricky said in surprise.
"Did he just walk into the girls' bathroom?" Julia asked.
"He just walked into the girls' bathroom." Delilah said.
"Employee bathroom to get technical." Roycel said.
"Shut up, Roy!" they yelled.
"Hey! Last time I checked the boss said to get to work!" a voice called carrying two trays in their hands. "And I'm not a maid either!"
Delilah rolled her eyes. "Who died and made you a manager, Dwayne." She faced him.
"Look, I'm not going to mix words with anyone. But I will complain and you know it! It's none of you guys' concern what he does with that girl now! Especially you, Delilah!"
"Oh thank you for the millionth time for reminding me of my misfortune!" Delilah walked up to him.
"That was your own doing." He replied bluntly.
"Do you want to get fired?" She asked.
"Do you all?" Ricky said. "Dwayne is right. Let Christian handle this. We are all his employees, after all. Even me." She said.
Hearing her, they all slowly dispersed into their appropriate areas.
Christian meanwhile tried to get Alicia out of the bathroom stall.
"You shouldn't even be in here! Someone help! Get security!"
"For crying out loud, I am the security here! Now come out of that stall!"
"I'm not coming out anywhere as long as you're in here!"
"Fine. I'll leave out but you better come and meet me in my office in five minutes otherwise I'll have the girls drag you out." He turned and left out, bumping into a woman.
"Oh!" she blushed.
"Excuse me. It's not what it looks like." He walked around her.
She watched him go and then opened the bathroom door to see a teary-eyed Alicia.
"Rape!" she screamed. "Oh are you all right!"
"Oh, yes, yes, I'm fine!" Alicia said. "He didn't assault me! He was just trying to get me to come out!"
"I think he did!" she yelled. "Roy's cute and all, but that doesn't mean he can treat girls anyway he wants! Don't worry! I'll call the police!"
"No!" Alicia yelled. "I swear to you, I was not raped! Christian-Roy is my boss! He only wanted to see if I was all right. Surely you saw the incident with that man out there? He groped me!"
"Oh that man! Roy kicked him out! Beat him up good to!"
"He did that?" Alicia asked.
"Well, not at first. He just politely asked them to leave. But then the man broke a beer bottle and charged at Roy with it."
"Oh my gosh!" Alicia said.
"Roy was so cool at how he handled him! Everything happened so fast I could barely keep up with his movements!" she said. "Once everything was over, he offered free meals and drinks on him for the guests there as a courtesy."
"Really?" She said.
The woman nodded.
"Well," she sniffed. "That's good to hear."
"Oh! You're still crying! Did he hurt you!"
"No, no he didn't!" Alicia said shaking her head. She turned and grabbed some toilet paper to wipe her face. "Thank you for your concern, but I really have to go!"
"Oh-wait!" she called after her.
Alicia ran out the bathroom and to Christian's office.
"Close the door." he said, one hand over his mouth. He looked deep in thought.
She did as she was told. She sat down in a chair.
He eyed her. "I'm taking you home."
Butterflies swarmed her stomach. His home? He couldn't mean hers. She kept a straight face, despite the fresh wave of tears that threatened to spill over.
Her mother's text.
"Alicia, your father and I have decided to move the date to you being out of the house by Sunday. That's this weekend. Hopefully you have some friends to shack up with. Your father and I are packing your things now."-Mom.
"My home." He said. "I'll take you to your place once we're done. It's no trouble."
She sat quietly and stared at him.
The sexual harrassments. The texts. The callousness of her parents. Her life.
She had seen movies where women who grew up rough on the other side of the tracks, braved what the world threw at them. Actresses portrayed somone's life or were only acting out a script. But she was not an actress. Nor was she one of those women who could take on the world right now.
She looked sick again. Like she would faint.
"Alicia, are you all right?"
And then there was him and his own hidden agenda he had for her. That's right. The man that didn't-wouldn't care about her. Whatever he wanted her to give up--she'd be a tool to him and nothing more.
Life draining from her eyes she lowered her head.
He saw that. Her brown orbs became dull in a matter of seconds. It startled him just a little. It certianly didn't help him feel any better with what he still planned to do to her.
Weak. She looked weak. He didn't like that. Both women he had were willing. They were startled once they found out, and reluctant at first, but warmed up to him.
With Alicia's current mood slicing through him, he'd be lucky if she survived the night.
His anger on the rise, as this night wasn't particularly fun for him either, he grabbed his keys and stood up. "Get your things. We're leaving now."
