William lay in a daze, not ready to open his eyes yet. Grass was tickling his face. He could feel cold wet soil underneath him, his shirt and jeans were soaked. And he would stay there, lying in dirt, but something was tapping on his head. He tried to move it away, but it was too stubborn. And when he finally opened his eyes, ready to beat anyone he sees, he saw a pig. It grunted, William shrieked. He quickly looked around for its owner, but all he saw was a dark forest, beautiful white moon and a town like those he had seen in movies. So William was sitting against a wild pig, staring at its stupid eyes. They quickly became friends.
"Let's call you Jake"
Two minutes later William marked something strange about Jake. At first he hadn't noticed it, but now he was sure, the pig's eyes were reflecting some light. Something was behind him. He looked backward and saw a glowing kerosene lamp. It looked pretty old, all rusted. Chilly wind blow made shivers crawl his back. So he stood up, holding his lamp and looking at the town that was very far away.
Few gray clouds gathered the sky and it began to drizzle. William was both curious and worried. He was actually in the other world, but had no idea what to do. The Goddess had promised him to take over the world, but his only comrade at the moment was a pig. He was trudging open fields, looking at the overcast sky, smelling vivid flowers, when he heard a squelch. He slowly tilted his head down. His breathe began to shake. William closet his mouth with a hand, trying to hold back the vomiting.
"P-p-pleeeease" he heard a scream, "Pleeeease, help me!"
There was a blonde girl on the ground, in a huge puddle of her own blood. William gasped and fell on his knees. Jake began to shriek. The lamp's light was very dim, showing silhouettes only few meters away, yet enough to notice a monster looking at William. Holding the girls hand, William fixed his eyes on a creature he had never seen in his office worker life. It was growling, showing its white fangs. It resembled human, but was all covered black fur, its eyes gleamed red. There was an arm in its mouth, William threw a glance at the girl, obviously she lacked one. He wanted to act, to jump on the creature, or at least to run away, the girl was about to die of blood loss, but he was stunned, unable to move. The creature raised its clawed hand.

"Nooo! Fuck you! Fuck this world! Fuck everybody!!" screamed William
The girl was still breathing, her chest was moving up and down, but she was unconscious now
"Little one, do you hear me? I'll save you!! I'll save you!!!"he shouted, hugging her tighter and tighter. Then William felt sudden easiness at his shoulders, his head got cut off.

Darkness. Was that the end?
"The Goddess promised me immortality" mumbled William
Death counter: 1
Then he heard a familiar laugh. William opened his eyes.
White void, again. His hands were still holding now inexistent girl. The Goddess of Joy was sitting in front of him, laughing endlessly. William was still shocked, his neck hurt. He was gasping, unable to say any legible word.
"So... How was it?" asked the Goddess, "Sure, I know, it was great"
"Wh-why?" said William, his breathe unsteady
"What's wrong? Didn't you like it?" said The Goddess of Joy with a sad tone
"No! The girl, she died in my hands" tears welled up William's eyes
The Goddess laughed "That's bad, Willy, I guess you won't like the advise I've prepared for you"
"What?"
"Extinguish your lamp, let the girl die, and sneak through, the monster won't notice you" said The Goddess of Joy and started laughing
"WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT! I WON'T LET HER DIE!" shouted William
"Okay then" abruptly responded The Goddess of Joy and snapped her fingers

William woke up on the hill, again.
