Chapter 1: The Contract

Chapter 1: The Contract

"William, wake up" said a female voice, "I've got some things to tell you"

"Wha..?" Williams eyes opened. For several seconds he was speechless. He saw a white void. Against him was sitting a lady with a dark hair. Her face was hidden by a smiling mask. The rest of her outfit was a black dress with elements of armor. She was giggling, hands resting on her lap. Between them, William noticed a table with a cup of tea.

"Where am I?" he asked the lady

"That's a wrong  way to start a conversation" she said, "Let me introduce myself at first. My name is Elisabeth, the Goddess of Joy, at your service. I'm sure we will have a great time"

"What do you mean?" said William, confused

"Well, do you remember what you said before killing yourself?"

"No, all I remember is a click of my revolver" said William with an emotionless tone

"Short-speaking, you were whining about your life like a baby"

"Ohh yeah, so you've summoned me here to have fun of me?!" said William, annoyed

"Partially"  said the Goddess of Joy, giggling,  "But you were the one to summon me"

"Oh really?! So what do we do now?" snapped William

"We are making a deal" answered the Goddess of Joy

"What a deal?"

"I offer you my help. Do you want to rule the world? To become the strongest? Immortal? Something you wished so much at your past life"

"But what do I give you in exchange?"

"Seat in the first row. I'll just look after you, giving my suggestions sometimes", in front of William appeared a contract paper, "I don't want to hurry you. Sign it, when you are ready"

"And what if I decline this offer?" asked William

"Well, then darkness, or hell, or heaven, or whatever comes after death" said The Goddess of Joy carelessly

William was stunned. He scratched his stubbled chin, took a sip of the tea and took a writing feather "Alright"

"Great..." said the Goddess of Joy. The whole void fell darkness. The only thing William heard before losing consciousness was her laugh.
