“What does this all mean?” inquired will as an egg and two books appeared in front of him. This unfortunately warranted no response from the system. Shrugging Will decided to see what he had received. He pushed the egg to the side without sparing it a glance, deciding to read the two books that lay in front of him first. Looking at the covers of the books he could see the words Basic Cultivation Encyclopaedia and Divine Rider Cultivation Technique. After brief consideration Will decided to read the basic cultivation encyclopaedia first so that he could have at least a basic understanding about what was going on the world.

Opening the book, he saw that there were 4 chapters: Chapter 1- Infernal Essence and Demonic Cultivators, Chapter 2- Celestial Essence and Heavenly Cultivators, Chapter 3- Elemental Qi and Elemental Cultivators and Chapter 4- Riders.

Deciding to start with chapter 1 Will began to read where he learned about the cultivation realms of demonic cultivation starting from the body tempering realm where the demonic cultivators had to absorb demonic essence through there Meridien’s and store it in their core which was known as a devil cave if they are a demonic cultivator. It also said that demonic cultivator whilst being extremely powerful were rare and tended to be viewed as evil and a plight upon the world by the general population of the world and the holy sects that cultivated in celestial essence leading to them being hunted down by righteous sects whenever a demonic cultivator emerged.

Moving onto chapter 2 Will began to read about celestial essence and its great power at purifying and healing. He also learnt about how although initially heavenly cultivators were weaker than demonic cultivators, they grow to be equal in strength to demonic cultivators. He also learnt about how similarly to demonic cultivators’ heavenly cultivators also absorb essence from the surroundings but they absorb celestial essence. The celestial is absorbed into their Meriden’s then moved to their core which in heavenly cultivators was called the heavenly palace. Unlike demonic cultivators’ heavenly cultivator are beloved the citizens of the world.

Will finished processing what he had just learnt and decided to move onto chapter 3. Chapter 3 was about elemental qi and elemental cultivators. These cultivators absorbed elemental qi from nature and stored it in their core where they would birth seeds of elements which they would grow to become full trees as their cultivation increased. These were the most common of cultivators and the most diverse because most commoners only had access to elemental cultivation techniques.

And finally, he turned to chapter 4. This chapter intrigued Will because the system said he had acquired the Sacred Rider Physique and he wanted to learn what that meant. He began reading, his horror building due to the discovery that riders cannot cultivate alone. This was because riders were born with Meridien’s five times thicker and resilient that a normal cultivator and they had the ability to move their meridien’s at will whilst normal cultivators meridien’s were static and could not be moved at will. Will learnt that riders were the only type of cultivator that could safely cultivate in all the energies of the world without harm coming to them. Will also read that riders needed beasts who were born as dao beasts that had a core of some sort but didn’t have meridien’s. The lack of meridien’s meant that dao beasts would never be able to hatch from their egg and unless a rider cultivated with them, they would remain that way forever.

Will also learnt that some powerful beasts would collect these unborn dao beasts and would look after them until a rider came along and took them. Furthermore, riders could have different levels of compatibility with dao beasts which they could see when choosing a dao beast because the dao beast eggs would glow different colours ranging from white to gold with the latter being perfect compatibilities and former being terrible compatibility. Riders could have multiple dao beasts whilst dao beasts could only have one rider and if the rider perished the dao beast would die as well.

After reading this Will decided to revaluate the egg he had received from the system and found it shone gold in his vision. Will decided to read the cultivation technique he had received from the system to see how he could begin to cultivate with the mysterious egg. Opening the book, he saw the words Divine Riders Cultivation Technique, he began to read in search of answers about cultivation. Once he finished reading the book, he realised to his astonishment that he could recall every word in the book flawlessly. After a moment of contemplation, he concluded that it must be a hidden benefit of receiving the sacred rider physique.

Turning his attention to the egg Will decided that it was time to try and cultivate with it. He reached over and picked up the egg noticing that it had substantial weight for its small size that only measured about 20cm in diameter. Will slowly and tentatively fed his meridien’s into the egg cautiously as to not make any errors. He felt and astonishingly powerful and pure energy that he decided must be celestial essence. He started to circulate this energy according to the instructions in the divine rider’s cultivation manual. All of a sudden, the energy broke out of the core flowing through the bodies of the dao beast and Will strengthening their bodies and waking up the beast the lay in a dormant state inside the egg. “Crack” the sound of a breaking egg echoed through the cavern waking Will from his state of cultivation. He looked down to see the dao beast breaking out of its egg.
