Will walked down street, pausing as he saw the vast amount of smoke flooding out of the corner shop. Before he new it he was running towards the fire, his figure disappearing into the smoke. In his deteriorating vision he could make out the outline of a figure trapped under a steal support that had fallen from the ceiling. He darted over grabbing hold of the steal beam. He pulled with all his might but it refused to move even one inch. Realising his powerlessness he looked into the eyes of the trapped person, through his tears that had come about through the smoke and the realisation that they were going to die, he saw a sorrow brought on by their imminent death and the fact they doomed an innocent man to share their fate.

Will stood up and looked around witnessing as his world slowly collapsed around him feeling deep resentment towards his powerlessness and his inability to save even one person. As the building began to collapse around him and the world started to fade away, he closed his eyes and wished to have the power to make a difference and never be powerless again.

Will awoke, fearful of his surroundings, bewildered by the landscape he found himself in. Trees towered above only lit up by the sparse sunlight that broke through the canopy above him. He looked around, bewildered by the environment all around him. He was in a forest, Will looked around unsure of what to do. “Where the hell am I” he screamed to nobody in particular. Will had never been to a forest before and didn’t know what to do. He rose, slowly, weary of his surroundings and making up his mind he set of in a random direction in hope of finding civilisation started walking forward, slowly at first before gradually increasing his pace as his confidence grew. He paused all of a sudden, observing his surroundings he found himself on the edge of a clearing, nothing out of the ordinary he told himself somewhat inclined to believe that clearings were commonplace in a forest, cautiously he stepped forwards.

As he placed his foot down, he felt the ground give way beneath his weight. He plummeted into the darkness unable to see what was beneath him. After what felt like an eternity, he hit the cold stone ground hard, the bones in his legs shattered by the impact. Searing pain coursed through him clouding his mind and preventing him from making rational decisions. Out of the corner of his eyes he saw a flickering light. Instinctively he slowly dragged himself towards it, gritting his teeth to bear with the paralysing pain that numbed his senses. He arrived before the light; it was a rock releasing a dull blue light that seemed to throb from within the rock. Will reached out fearlessly unable to comprehend what was going on due to the extreme pain coming from his legs.
