COMMISSION - FILLER/SKIPPABLE - CHARACTER BIOS / REFRESHER - VERY LONG

COMMISSION - FILLER/SKIPPABLE - CHARACTER BIOS / REFRESHER - VERY LONG

The Blackguard:

Prince Tyr Faeron - Everything from here on out will be 'in canon' - I wrote these mostly thematically but Tyr is so important to me as a character I couldn't help but to clown him - I'm sorry but I love him. He must be protected at all costs, or maybe just killed off and replaced with a female MC with a nose ring and blue hair - here to fight the establishment with nothing but a trusty bow and arrow, and a talking loaf of bread.

Our titular antagonist, the piece of shit himself. Gods bless. Just kidding, sort of... Well, not really, but hey - there it is - he is a war criminal and mass murderer. A bio really isn't needed for him since he's the MC, but I included this to describe what he looks like.

Appearance: Tyr has deep, dark blue eyes. 'Wolfish', the wolf is a hard metaphor in this story and my obsession with canines (I really, really love dogs, wolves, etc.) is so insane it could even be called bad storytelling. Anyways... Wolfish features, pointed and rugged through years of experience and combat. Constantly scowling to the point where his face might look lopsided, and glaring. He has a small scar splitting his left eyebrow, but otherwise his face is flawless. My inspiration for Tyr's appearance was originally my great love, Keanu Reeves, HOWEVER... Eventually, I decided to leave it up to the reader to decide, and tweaked it, finding the titular 'white hair' - as in snow white, paper white, to be a source of aesthetic.

Tyr is not human, and this is reflected in his appearance. He has a strong jaw, though less subdued than being 'square', with high cheekbones and a strong, heavy brow to match. His image in my head is very handsome, and it's a part of the story that he appears so aesthetically handsome and charming. A mix of his mother, who was one of the most beautiful women in the world in her era, and his father - who remains downright intimidating to all observers. This has given Tyr a face that, considering the fact he scowls so much, terrifies people.

He is tall, athletically built - but not bulky. Tyr is 6'4'' with wide shoulders, a thin waist, and a long rangy frame akin to a predatory cat. Obviously, he has white hair, which is another plot point, and very pale skin. Pale, as in nearly albino, and he doesn't tan. His skin is very, very light, and not the pink of a normal albino - but actually white. Not like... Snow white, right? But take a pale human and subtract the rosiness of their blood and the blue of their veins coming through the epidermis. That's Tyr.

I honestly hate self-inserts, I really do, and I can't believe I did this, but Tyr's COMPLEXION specifically is a projection of when I used to get clowned in elementary school about being an albino. It's wild (I'm not), but... It was pretty bad, honestly. I have very light colored hair, platinum blond, and a very fair complexion - it's an insert. But at the same time, I am hard toward non-violence personally, so he's not a projection of me, or so I think. Not a true self insert.

Anyways...

His canines, both upper and lower, are much longer than a normal persons. Jartor knows why, and exaggerated features are not rare on a primus so it's 'no big deal'.

He likes: Not really sure yet (from character's POV), but animals of all kinds, weapons, and smithing would be three things he could probably agree with. He likes the sound of running water, and seeing colors. Music, while not his passion, would arguably be Tyr's favorite non-edible thing.

Oh, and hot bread, cold beer, and meat of all kinds.

He's known for being a psychopath, and for Okami - who is with him most of the time. Despite that, there are some people who believe Okami is Tyr, and that Tyr can turn into a wolf.

Tyr's realest fear is himself, but he also fears drowning / anything that might take his personal control away from him. Despite that, he prefers to be ordered around - which stands contrary to his rebellious, almost whimsical nature.

Commander Tiberius Scarr - (Blackguard)

Prime Element: ??? Believed to be water.

Appearance: About 5'11" with short hair longer on the top, a crew cut. Graying at the sides, before, but now it's dark. Tiber has gray eyes and a rangy frame, athletic with wide shoulders and a tight waist. Classically, he would be considered very handsome, and his image in my head was inspired by Jeremy Irons or Franky Grillo (more modern). He is grizzled and worn, with a scar decorating his left eye. This is symbolic, by the way, the eyes I keep mentioning.

Once upon a time, the Scarr family was the preeminent domain in Milano. Like all great houses in the nation, they were called 'merchant prince' - but they were known for far more... Violent things. As the last Scarr alive, as far as he knows, Tiber is the culmination of over a thousand years of swordsmanship, a decorated lineage claiming more heroes than any other family on Hjemland. A gifted swordsman since birth, but unable to meet his father's expectations - Tiber did everything in his power to become greater.

Unsurprisingly, he failed. As the only son of a declining line, he was inducted to Saint Lucian's academy, exceling and becoming one of the greatest mortal combatants in the modern era. Not through divine faith, or contrivance, purely through skill and a strategic mind beyond his peers. But he never did ascend, and when he academy was dissolved, Saint Lucian's project declared a failure in its own right - so did Tiber's dreams of becoming as great as his ancestors before him.

His skills however, that of a swordsman and artificio - were not discarded. He would go on to become a Guardian for the Watcher, The Lady in White, traveling with her for some time before she gave up on her personal quest to save humanity. She'd seen too much, as had he, left alone in a wide world of endless dangers.

From then on, at the age of 17, so young, he'd be inducted into the Order Sicario. A legendary brotherhood of assassins, a clerical order and the only cult to worship the murder god - Awl. He would once again excel, becoming a pre-eminent mage slayer and legendary figure known simply as the Raven. Archmages, covens, black hearted warlocks - hundreds have fallen to Tiber's blade and few mages yet alive who know of his order would look him in the eye without flinching. A red handed butcher, bolstered by arcane and forbidden implants, the Raven that watches. Sees your deeds. Measures you.

Even to this day, he is well famed in the martial circles, a very rich man with all of his families inheritance though he vows to never return to Milano, even in his retirement. The deaths of his family, including his young wives, are his fault - after all.

Awl, as one might imagine - being the god of murder and blood, is a cruel god. But not an evil one. He sees the darkness in mankind and wishes to snuff it out, more pure than the so-called gods of purity. But he only offers his followers 3 chances in their lifetime, giving them the power of a hero for a brief period. Freely, he offers this gift, but only if it is in the name of justice.

In a fit of pride, unable to reconcile his failings to become a hero, he activated one of Awl's 'charges' during an ascendancy trials and was cursed by both god and order. Later, betrayed by the brothers he'd fought alongside for years. They took from him everything, and he did the same, singlehandedly dismantling his own order - paving the streets of Milano with blood. Once, he was a paladin, though of the darker side - and after that... He was nothing. Until Signe Ebonfist, Tyr Faeron's mother, lifted him up - displayed a sort of power overwhelming. Enough to cow even a man who'd though himself ready for death.

He wasn't, agreeing to serve her in exchange for keeping his life.

Serving as the captain of the Dawnguard, the queensguard of Haran, Tiber was noted for being surly, arrogant, and despicable. A rogue, a murderer, and worse - but never to the wrong people. A tool that needed using in the proper way. And she did, that Signe, in a way. Upon meeting Tyr Faeron, Tiberius Scarr would note that the boy was... Naiive, lighthearted, weak. Too friendly. But after another showing of power overwhelming, he was yet again cowed, vowing to serve Imperial Prince Tyr until the end of his days. Whether recognized or not, Tiber has taught the boy most everything he knows, and loves him like a son.

Tiberius blames himself for Tyr's upbringing, following Jartor's command after the death of Signe to guide and nurture the boy. A poor replacement for Rufus Goldmane, Tiber would try his best. Teaching Tyr 'the game', the art of stalking, hunting, and breaking a man. Only realizing much later how evil a thing he'd been party to. Now, it is his life's greatest conviction to nurture and guide Tyr in a proper way, as a good man, living repentant under the pressure of all the boy has become.

When asked of Awl, and his loyalties, Tiber replied very simply. To the Great Lion himself, Jartor Faeron.

'I know no god but Tyr. He is my god, there will be none other.'

Tiber likes weapons of all kinds, Tyr, and very spicy food. He and Samson are somewhat akin to best friends, and often go fishing together.

He is an adept now, which makes him a form of mage that can do one thing in particular very well - but he hasn't discovered it.

--

Sir Samson Awowogei - (Blackguard)

Prime Element: Fire

Appearance: Tyr incorrectly identifies Samson's hairstyle as locks. He is a truly massive black man, almost to the point of appearing as large as a primus. Agoron is quite obviously inspired by Africa, hence his Yoruba aesthetic. He wears his hair long, in warriors knots. The aue'tau, which his his tongue would mean 'warriors life'. Contrary to popular belief, wearing your hair long is not a northern tradition, it is an Agoron tradition who were the second clade of warrior cast nephilim to appear on the world. He is massive, and I cannot understate that enough, over seven feet tall and nearly half that wide - with golden brown eyes and full lips that are almost always frowning. Very intimidating, even though he's one of the nicest guy's you'd ever meet. He is a 1:1 equivalent of a good friend of mine, Solomon of Sudan, who I knew for many years and still remain in contact with. He is, perhaps obviously, very muscular, with a very masculine face.

The once legendary 'Harbinger', the greatest warrior of the Awowogei clansmen, hailing from the rainforests and mountains of inland Agoron, Samson is a broken man. To their west lay Assyria, their vast desert kingdom and peninsula dominated by their glistening spires and cog spun industry, a land of great progress. A land of everything, including black hearted slavers and the djinn crazed mages that sacrifice to these false gods in a bid to access ancient power.

Once, Samson was great, a legendary warrior and force of unity. A culture of reason and intellect, never betraying their sacred link with nature - living freely in the trees and mountains in a vast collection of free nations. Some of the greatest archives and academies lay in eastern Agoron, until the djinn weavers came. A vast sandstorm at the hands of a man, oceans of fire that burned the forests, all because the Agoron refused to submit to imperialist Assyrian rule. Samson met them in battle, full of pride. And as a result, he lost everything. His sons were killed, his daughters cut down by reaver pirates in an attempt to flee north, his village burned. As for him?

No, death was too merciful for him - they'd said. They took him to Assyria, the westernmost kingdom in the land, sans Ind - shackling him - forcing him to fight as a gladiator in their arenas. And he did, for a time, undefeated. Black Titan they called him, the scum that they were. Samson would break his enemies in the cruelest, worst way, just to stare their masters in the eye while he did it. Until, eventually, he was forced to face his own eldest son in the arena - a boy he thought dead during the war.

There's a thing... Something in a man, but it wasn't in Samson. Algolei, his boy, his beloved boy, saw his father and smiled - weeping tears of joy even as he committed ritual suicide on the field. Since that day on, Samson swore off the slaver, killing an entire crew of his masters men in a drunken rage. So long had he been amenable to the slaughter that they hadn't thought to shackle him any longer. Many years later, at the age of 37, he found himself in Haran - endeavoring to reach the republic before being found by Tyr.

There are old stories in Agoron. Black is not evil, white is, the opposite of the foolish kingdoms and clergies that dominate Hjemland. The White Wolf howling, Ogbunabali. Tyr. And lo and behold, Tyr would find him, at first a simple instrument of his vengeance, someone with the influence and power to end the Assyrian's once and for all. But over time... Samson's heart has softened, he remembers his family and has named his gear after them. Algolei, which in his tongue means 'precious piece of my heart', his halberd.

Samson is convince, Tyr is no man - he is a god. A god of vengeance here to set the world straight, a force of nature like the mountains that stand tall while the petty divines of the north squabble. Ogbunabali, the night haunter. The one who sees, knows, and says - and so it is. He cares for vengeance no longer, coming to love these people and all others, like he used to. But when the fighting starts, and his time to rejoin his family comes, he will do so howling beside the White Wolf.

Ogun once said that when the steel clashes and the ocean boils red, we find peace. Peace in death, welcomed to his shimmering halls of silks and downy pillows, his family waiting for him. And they'll be there forever, as one of the Ooni, Tyr will guard his soul - whether he knows what he is or not. Fire is sacred in Agoron, as the water is sacred in the middle (eastern) continent, fire cleanses and nurtures, and Samson believes that this path he has been set on might ensure none other suffers the grim fate that his people have.

Samson worships Tyr as a real and true god, not metaphorically as Tiber might've claimed him to be 'his god'. He carries a pop-up shrine with him everywhere, and lives within the precepts that one might consider appropriate to the paladin of a divine. Of all people on the planet, Samson is one of the few that is aware that there are primus' outside of the 4 ruling sovereigns on the eastern kingdom - a secret he has kept for all time, as requested..

'I will see you again, sweet ones. We will ride atop the black peaks like we used to. Feel the rain upon our flesh like we used to, I need only for time. I've one last duty to attend to, but I shall see you soon.'

Solomon likes fishing, music, dancing, being left alone, and Tyr.

He is an adept now, which makes him a form of mage that can do one thing in particular very well - but he hasn't discovered it.

--

Sir Mikhail of "No House" - Or so he claims... (Mikhail Blackwater) - (Blackguard)

Prime Element: Air

Appearance: Dark brown hair, worn long like most Harani in a pony tail. He has blue-gray eyes and is constantly smirking. People at times note how well dressed he is compared to the others.

Mikhail would hear these stories and say something along the lines of...

'Well, shit! What the fuck!?'

His story isn't a sad one, just a part of the world and an inevitable thing. Man rapes woman, Mikhail kills man in brought daylight - something a constable should do, no? Mikhail is clapped in irons, turns out man was the son of a powerful noble in Haran.

'Well, shit!'

'Prison wasn't so bad, honestly. Gruel is gruel, there's no pussy - either... Well... So, listen, that was consensual - me and that guard had a beautiful bond - how was I supposed to know my wife was gonna come for me!?'

Mikhail's wife, Lucille (Lucy) Blackwater is a noble of great repute, and an Inquisitor in direct employ of the papacy. A powerful, violent, and evil woman (or so he claims) that 'forced him into marrying her' and 'has a nice pair of tits, though, that one - you should see em!'. To this day, Mikhail is running from his wife, which is to say nothing of his loyalty to Tyr. Of course he's loyal to the boy, like a nephew to him, he is! And the pay... Well, y'see, Tyr's always been real... Giving. Plus, any time we kill anyone, we can take whatever we want!

Mikhail is a rogue, though he's always been friendly to the concept of killing bad men. A corrupt constable, friendly to woman of all stripe, often to his detriment... A born swindler, womanizer, and conman in his past, Mikhail hates the flesh trade as much as anything else. Woman's got a right to be herself, fall in love - don't mean he'll stick around, though.

Body count (or so he claims): 411.

According to Tiberius Scarr himself, this is 'probably true'.

'I'll never let a raper live, not never. See, what's the big deal with me nicking a sovereign or two off a rich fuck? Me? Bad? Hardly that, see, I'll take a bribe to look the other way in lieu of reporting a smuggler - but hurt a woman or child, and I'm gonna hurt you. Real bad, reckon. I'll carve you up, I'm not soft like old Fenny. Hung a lot of dark souls from a tree, but me? I'm the nicest guy you'll ever meet!'

Mikhail likes booze, gambling, women of all races, and fashion.

--

Sir Fennic of No House (Leynic) - (Blackguard)

Prime Element: Earth

Appearance: A hangdog face, very average if not ugly, his left eye is scarred over and milky, half blind. Despite that, he has the sharpest eyes in all of the blackguard. 'Eye'. Chestnut colored hair graying on the sides, wavy. Fennic is relatively sloppy compared to Mikhail and the shortest of the blackguard, people say he 'looks like a scoundrel'.

A freeborn trapper from the Arendal region, Fennic lost his parents at the age of 6 and has been alone (relatively) ever since. He is soft spoken, good humored, and quick to smile. Leynic means 'star brother' in the old tongue, the middle continent tongue of which Faeron would mean 'nature's wolf'. Or 'loyal brother' - depending on who you speak to. It is the name Tyr gifted him upon the man throwing him atop the boy in a bid to save him from an arrow, on the hunt for his mothers killers.

A kindhearted, gentle soul.

That didn't help him much when he was caught trapping on the property of a noble, though.

Thrown in irons, sentenced to death, only the timely arrival of the passing prince would save him. But 'Fenny' has always been lucky, wildly so - to the point where it 'don't make no sense!'. Freed from his irons, hired into the employ of a knightly order, Fennic has sacrificed much for his long term employer, the 2nd of the Blackguard after Mikhail. As for his goals... Nobody really knows, now even 'Mikey' - Fenny just seems happy to be here. With no true family to come back home to, it seems as good a place as any to be.

'Too old for all of that. Had my kids, spread my seed. Had a wife, too - left me when I was in the clinkers. Hope she's doing well, all told, all of em - but me? Nah... They're better off without me. Got a job to do here, I'll follow the boy to the ends of the earth. I miss the farm, though. I hope he slows down before my mind does in old age. Y'know?'

Fennic likes: An honest days work, protecting the innocent, green tomatoes, and Tyr.

Ajax Bloodfang - (Blackguard)

Prime Element: Earth Derivative (nature / beast)

Appearance: Tall, with fur of gray patterned with blue stripes, Ajax has a hairy body and long protruding canines unlike Girshan. He is very bulky, about 6'6'', a body builder physique with longer claws than normal for a beastkin.

'My past? I'll tell you everything you need to know if you can handle three punches from these fists.'

'Er... No thanks. Pass the butter...?'

'Understood.'

Ajax was the equivalent of a unit captain in the Sinean army, the now defunct nation that Jartor Faeron destroyed. Slaughtering them nearly to a man, one of the great modern genocides. He doesn't care that it happened, only that they lost, and is willing to do anything for anyone with the coin to accept his services. With his purpose gone, never being much of a family man to begin with, he is pleased to have found a master that allows him to sate his lust for combat.

He is Girshan's brother, and Yana's uncle. Many beastkin consider him a traitor, but Ajax asserts this is not the case - he has very little interest in defending his honor, though. It is what it is. Their nation is dead, his family slaughtered, all that's left is the road. Beastkin aren't soft like humans, not soft like Girshan. To this day, Ajax insists he was the mightiest warrior of Sinea, and few question that. No need for magic with this one, he's as 'beast' as the first half of his racial lineage implies.

He commands 138 beastkin, all technically in Tyr's service. Unlike the others, he doesn't care that Tyr seems to ignore them. To a beastkin, winning glory by strength of the self is tantamount to a religion.

Ajax likes meat, fighting, alcohol, and money.

--

TYR'S "FRIENDS"

This includes his 'wives' - who aren't romantic interests in the traditional sense. Hence, I'll be given them their House names and not 'Faeron' as an identifier. In Harani Imperial custom, Alexis Goldmane would be Alexis Goldmane-Faeron. Family name first, married name second - southerners do not hyphenate unless they are of royal blood. IE: Iscari's wives would be XXXX Longinus, without exception. Goldmane-Faeron, Stalvarg-Faeron. Etc. They keep their names as a sign of mutual respect, even Signe - who would've gone by Signe Gudrun Ebonfist-Faeron.

Alexis Goldmane -

Prime Element: Fire

Appearance: Violet eyes, black hair, tall and lean. Alex would be shorter than Sigi but slightly taller than Astrid. Let's say 5'9''. Tall for a man, though, she would tower over the Hjemland average. She has eyes that glow unnaturally, all of the time, and most people see this as a component of her talent for magic. Her face is almost always straight, not very expressive, unless in scorn or disgust. She is the most vain of all the women and is obsessed with her outward appearance, but only for herself. She looks just like her mother, like twins. She always holds her head high and has a habit of unnerving people with her superior attitude.

Alexis Goldmane is the first wife of Tyr, and potentially the only person who truly desires him romantically at this point in time. Alex both hates, and loved Tyr. Raised in one of the most famous houses on the entire planet, rich beyond measure, she acts as one might expect a noblewoman to.

Caught between her concern for him as a sister figure, a childhood friend, and considering everything he has done to her... And for her.

Tyr saved her life when they were young, sacrificing something that he shouldn't have in the process. This makes her feel guilty, but she can't help how she feels, period. In her mind, they were made to be with one another, and she is the 'first' wife. She is not a friendly person, arrogant, surly, and self-possessed. Alexis Goldmane is always right, she takes her nobility very seriously, but that extends to her commitment to protect the common people.

Narcissistic, self-righteous, she is a woman of contradictions and a whole host of flaws. Even going so far as to manage to talk Jura into staying in the east despite knowing that Tyr was oathbound to remain in the republic. Alex is obsessed with Tyr to the point of madness, only eclipsed by Iscari Longinus (the Primus of Hope), and this has become a sort of rift between her and the other girls. She insists that if they leave him alone, he'll do something terrible.

She is willing to accept a mend in their relationship, as she always has been, but desires to be the one and only wife of Tyr - believing she can 'fix him' where all others have failed. Alexis Goldmane is currently one of the most watched mages in the world, and her talent for the arcane is famed across continents, a once in a generation talent (above all others) that is a shoe-in for archmage. Perhaps faster than even Kael Emberwind himself. Very few know, even Alex herself, but she is a shardling - a nephilim and a host for the shard of a 'dead' god. As are the vast majority of people Tyr Faeron consorts with... Even those who most assuredly won't before the change...

She is directly responsible for most of the Prince's success, managing his financial affairs with incredible grace and skill alongside Ella (his financial advisor). Of all Tyr's "friends", or more specifically - love interests, Alex is the only one who doesn't have a complex motivator for wanting to be with Tyr, and was beyond excited at the news that he'd lost his right to ascend to the crown. She thinks of him like family and wants him to be subservient to her.

She loves dogs, art, fine wine and reading. She is one of the only students in the academy who refuses to accept a roommate and has run through 4 others before being allotted a personal room.

Alex hates orcs, and is an unabashed racist to all nonhuman races. With that being said, she is concerned enough with duty to accept Jura as a 'human'.

Alex is known for her preternatural mastery of storm magic (lightning) - which is very rare among humans. Her prime element is believed to be air, but it is fire (like Tyr).

Astrid Stalvarg -

Prime Element: Light

Appearance: Astrid is considered by many to be the most beautiful woman in the world - this is not an exaggeration. It goes beyond the typical reasons, it also applies to her behavior, which as we know - is false. She is elegant, regal, and yet dominant in her apparent submissiveness. Her hair is the color of cherry blossoms (pink) and she often wears it long and in a braid that hangs over her chest. She is very slender, with frail looking limbs and a very 'ideal' frame in terms of modern beauty standards. Beneath that all, though, is a body beaten hard by physical training until she's become as toned as Sigi is.

She is very insecure about her appearance, due to her past, and often fusses over herself. Despite that, even without any makeup at all, she'd make and room shine. She is noted for her naturally bright colored lips, radiant blue eyes, and constant soft smile. Some professors fear Astrid a great deal, people who can passively read mana signatures in a person.

Tyr's second wife.

'Complicated' couldn't possibly begin to describe Astrid Stalvarg, the youngest daughter of Ragnar and 3rd princess to the northern throne. She is a well dressed (literal dresses), fine lady of powder and masks. Underneath, she is a vicious and devilishly clever woman who desires nothing more than to fight in a real battle - but her heritage would never allow that for her. Tyr, however... He's never been very good at listening to rules.

She loves Tyr in a strictly romantic sense (not platonically / genuinely caring for him, there is a difference), because she thinks his 'sociopathic' behavior is brave and dashing. As children, Tyr looked her in the eye - unlike everyone she's ever met - including her brother, and addressed her directly. Born sickly, with a grisly birthmark on her face, she has an inferiority complex regarding other women. Despite that, she's grown up to understand that 'hot' emotions, especially hate, don't suit her.

Calm, composed, and meticulous, Astrid had a monster within her that isn't considered so by her northern kin. Mischievous is a word one might use for her as well, if not downright mentally ill. Astrid is very warm, to most observers, but at her core she is frigid and sees most other people as insects.

She's been trained since a young age in multiple styles of martial arts and if not for Alex's insane genius - she'd be #1 in any other year of the academy. Despite that, she loves children, games, song and dance, as well as arts of all kind. She cares about her friends more than anything, even Tyr, and wants them to be back together again. In a carefully controlled, easily manipulated environment.

If you come across this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.

She is a lightweight with alcohol, writes her own music, and truly couldn't care less if her feelings are reciprocated or not.

Part of the reason she 'loves' Tyr, is because of her competitive spirit and wanting to beat Alex to him first. She, however, and unlike Alex - respects Tyr a great deal. Alex views him as an accessory, childhood nostalgia, but Astrid honestly believes everything he has said / done was right. Which... He did save an entire country from annihilation. 'Him', in quotation marks, he is regarded as the hero of Benny, Xavier, and Abrath's sacrifice.

She knows a lot more than she lets on, about herself - and Tyr included. Perhaps more than most non-100+ year old characters in the series.

In her youth, Tyr pushed her hair aside, stared at her 'ugly' birthmark (which deformed her face) and said she'd look more impressive if she stopped trying to hide it. Because of that, even after growing whole again, she's developed an unhealthy obsessed with 'becoming him'. More on that later, sort of, it gets pretty fucking dark and I might rewrite it - I'm still not sure.

Astrid likes music, good food, and watching fish swim around in their tanks. She often stares up at the stars in the late night while her sister is asleep, falling asleep herself in awkward positions. Sigi will raise herself, correct Astrid's posture, and return to her own bed.

Astrid is known for her even more rare prime element of light, and is able to consciously manifest light constructs without the use of a traditional spell.

Sigi Mornstone -

Prime Element: Water/Air/Earth

Appearance: Sigi is just north of 6ft tall (let's say 6'3'') - making her about an inch shorter than Tyr. Wide shouldered, strong jawed, very northern in appearance - and she keeps to her custom. She is pale, silver haired, with eyes of a seafoam green. She is noted for being very aggressive and surly looking, though she is not an unfriendly individual. She walks with a board straight back, is 'curvy' (which is faux paus in Hjemland) - and almost always wears armor or padded gambeson to cover her body. Of which (her body) is covered with the tattoos of her people, which is also seen as sort of disgusting by 'easterners'. Marks (tattoos) mean a marked mage, it's almost like a slave brand to a lot of people.

Regardless, she is beautiful, statuesque, and very muscular. With 8-pack abs and a full womanly figure, more than ready to fight a grown man if he looks at her the wrong way. Sigi keeps her hair short, usually about shoulder length, but it depends how she feels. She cares very little for appearance, only what she sees in the mirror. Before blitzball games, a game which she is very talented at, she braids it along the sides and paints her face blue like a 'barbarian'.

Sigi is a daughter of Trafalgar, an island nation to the far west, that has been swallowed up by 'the fog'. Her people, fought, and near universally ran extinct courtesy of 'darkbeasts' and 'fogmen'. Her story gets elaborated on much more, so I won't spoil it too much, or maybe I will, blame Ixire.

She hates Tyr, down to her deepest core - even before they were married. However, Tyr is a man of means and might be able to complete her dream, hence her agreement to marry him. To her, he seems very little in terms of separation from Cortus (Hastur) - her own primus once upon a time. Someone who runs / a coward. Sort of... Her feelings are complicated, but she loves Astrid and will do anything to keep her safe.

Notably, she is romantically attracted to Micah. This is not a component of the story, she, just like she wants Tyr to be, is 'trapped'. These are arranged marriages, and she, unlike the other two wives (sans Jura, who she barely notices) - sees only duty in it. Mornstone's are all, every single one of them, paladins of the sea - but not to any god specifically - and not to Veles (the god of the oceans). To her, Tyr is a mongrel and a wretch, someone not worth respecting - but eventually she sees how effective he is.

She is a deeply traumatized individual who watched her parents die in order to defend the last refugee boat, that she was on, and can think of nothing other than revenge. The only problem is... Who would she want revenge against?

Spartan, disciplined, and concerned only with being her perfect self. She is very large for a woman (over 6 ft tall), curvaceous and busty - which does not fit the beauty standards of the continent. Which means she is viciously bullied, and gets into fights quite frequently, though she obeys dueling law. She has not lost even once, in 41 engagements, and now - people know to leave her alone.

Sigi wants to have Tyr's children so as to trap him (a son, specifically (a primus)), forcing him to aid her in recovering her lost homeland. That's all she's ever cared about, and will do anything to achieve it, even if that means being a dutiful wife. She believes, like a few others, that Tyr is lying about his abilities and is actually an extremely powerful individual. Sigi is a very talented engineer and is pioneering the discipline on a global scale, only held back by her limited reliance on her husband.

She is known for following boys into their restroom facilities and beating them to a pulp if they say anything untoward about her friends. Especially Micah.

Sigi likes machines, listening to the ocean, and the sound of rain.

She is a chronic alcoholic and enjoys that luxury in particular quite a lot. Sigi is a drunk too young to have fallen into the negative aspects of that predilection, but is as bitter as any adult. She is very cleanly and neat, to the point of near 'stereotypical' OCD.

Sigi is a celebrated blitzball player and while nobody, with Ragnar as the sole exception, knows - she possesses 3 prime elements. Something that has never happened in the history of all mankind. She has the ability to use a specific (to be revealed) form of hybrid shaper magic.

Because of this, she is unable to commune with celestial entities. Sigi is half human.

Jura -

Prime Element: Primal (orc derivative - and therefore artificial - emotion related element - unknown)

Appearance: Jura has green eyes to match her moss colored skin, she is tall (about 6ft at this point) - sturdily built - and muscular. She had very full lips and a pair of elongated bottom incisors that jut out enough to flare her bottom lip. She has a nice figure, and an almost exaggeratedly plump rear end. It is all muscle, she constantly squats at weight lifting facilities in an attempt to run faster than Midnight, Tyr's horse that he's forgotten and she now keeps for herself.

A half orc half human product of a forbidden marriage, her past is very simple. She was a slave for most of her life, and was freed by Tyr. At this point in the story, they are less in love and more discovering themselves. She 'loves' Tyr, and recognizes no other man, but she's been made to realize that while he is her 'home', she has a lot more living to do in the future.

She regrets leaving Tyr, but knows it is necessary. After all, he was the one who ultimately convinced her to do so.

'I dunno, it's alright. I mean... Girshan was right, I think, in a lot of ways. Not all, but enough - I need to know who I am - or I have no business claiming a mate at all.'

'...Mate?'

'Sure, someone you have sex with. I need to discover myself before I can have children, but I'm sure they'll be with him. He'll understand, he's that kind of person.'

'No... Jura... He's not that kind of person.'

Jura likes game animals (boars, deer, especially moose), forests, and taking long baths. Orcs in this story are obsessively cleanly, and soak themselves in herb scented tinctures on a daily basis.

Ayla the Barren, of An'tahk -

Prime Element: Arachne from foreign worlds do not possess them, the closest thing you could get is her thread magic. Which would be a derivative of fate. The weaver - every member of her 'natural born' race would be considered a paladin of Ejessi - the goddess of monsters on this world.

Ayla met Tyr in the astral construct installation, aboard the world sphere Sanguinar. She is an arachne, and thankful for his assistance in ensuring she was given a second chance at life. Currently, only two individuals knows what she is - those being Iscari and Jura (sans Tyr, of course). At this point in time, she is working as a work-study mercenary alongside Jura. The two of them are fast friends, and Jura has seen her true form, learning to treat her with the same respect she's offered Nala. An arachne is a half spider (black widow), half human hybrid, a centaur or chimera with a beautiful woman jutting from where a giant spider's head should be.

As a 'barren', one who cannot clutch young, she had no purpose in her old world and once fallen into an astral rift she was trapped in a place for 561 years, and discovered by Tyr Faeron. Awakened arachne are female, universally, the males that manage to awaken are killed on sight - making Ayla a lesbian.

'Yes, I can shoot webs from my rear end - but that doesn't make it my 'ass'. It's a thorax, what the hell is wrong with you?'

'So...?'

'No, in my human form, I do not possess the ability to shoot webs from my ass. Get it?'

'Sure, that makes sense.'

Ayla likes most intellect based challenges, puzzles, and math. She... Ayla likes math.

Brennwulf -

Prime Element: Earth (metal)

Appearance: Brenn has green-blue eyes, and is very tall. Muscular, heroic looking. He was, in my head, the stereotypical protagonist in appearance - I'm thinking Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, etc. He has very steady eyes and his face is very expressive, often creasing when he sees injustice or people in need. He has the pitch black hair and duskier skin of a Baccian, worn short in a parted wave from his head, with very strong brows and a persistent intimidating glare. 'Resting bitch face' - you might say, but not quite so awful as Tyr's - he is very popular among both men and women at the academy and Amistad, and has the most 'friends' out of all of them. With that being said (with the comparisons), Brenn is about as close to Hispanic as this universe gets, I guess...? Kinda weird how I used to Caucasians to elaborate on his appearance but it still fits in my mind. Young Benicio Del Toro, if that works for you, that dude is handsome.

Paladin of Vestia, orphan, and product of Kriegstad's underground. Brenn is a kindhearted, stereotypical paladin concerning himself mostly with the law and order of human lands. He is, technically, a clergy noble of the cloth - which gives him a lot of authority, though he never uses it.

He is extremely proficient in the divine arts, but he is held back by his dedication to his friends. Tythas, Micah, Iscari, Alexis, Astrid, Sigi, and Magnus. He regards Tyr as a friend, sort of, but he is very angry at Tyr for the stress he put the women through. While the stereotypical 'hero achetype', Brenn is extremely self-righteous and convinced that his way is the one way. He is not pure, however, and is living his life the way he does as a form of repentance for his past.

Currently, he is one of the most scouted prospects in his demographic by the Inquisition and is currently considered one of the most able paladins (for his age) in the world. He spends his time giving alms to the poor, working to fund the orphanage he was raised in, and volunteering at an abandoned pets shelter. Oftentimes, Tythas joins him in this duty. He is very humble, compared to the more noble of his companions. Brennwulf is a very confident man, and he is constantly endeavoring to convince the others to believe in themselves as well.

Brenn loves cats, hot tea, and Vestia. And (someone), who might surprise you, a woman he encountered briefly at the ascendancy trials that took his interest for the first time (in a romantic sense). It'll make sense, believe me. I just said it.

If it interests you, Brenn is a virgin. Despite being a massive, statuesque, extremely handsome man who has fielded dozens of offers for marriage. I don't know why you'd want to know that, but now you do. Congratulations. Notably, Vestia's faith is predicated on 'family'.

Which is to say she, and other 'light gods', tell their followers directly to 'go out and breed'. Brenn had refused to have sex with the High Charity (Vestia's local cardinal, of sorts) - and currently has 3 stalkers. One of which is the daughter of the Pope.

To add onto that, paladins of Vestia, those with talent, are required quite bluntly to have sex with the priesthood - which if you remember correctly is comprised of only women. If not, they are taken by force, but Brennwulf is so talented that the High Charity wants her only for herself and will not allow the others to touch him. He is the Chosen of Vestia, the first in many centuries, and again one of the strongest paladins in the entire world. Sub-hero tier, of course.

Keep in mind that Vestia is arguably one of the only objectively 'good' characters among the divines, something with no overbearing selfish motivation. Just like in real world religions, the clergy doesn't often speak for the actual faith of the gods. Hence the fact that light god faithful, especially Vestia's faith, engage in pretty... Questionable activities. His heart is so disciplined and pure that even other gods have begun to notice him. He is a very 'average' mage, though.

Brenn likes warm bread, beer, and Vestia. His favor color is red, and he often travels to the periphery, in the dead of night, to hear the wolves howl at the moon. Despite his outgoing personality, he likes to be alone and has a 'staring' problem, that fortunately - thanks to his classically good looks - has not caused him any problems.

He also likes children, especially those he grew up with at the orphanage who see him as a big brother. Ensuring that they sleep soundly and taking jobs to take care of them and pay their debts.

Brenn is a very well trained swordsman (fights with blunt weapons) - and among the clergy he is considered one of the most capable paladins - as mentioned. He is average in his talent for arcane magic, but makes up for it with his access to Vestia's choir.

--

Micah -

Prime Element: Space

Appearance: It's easy to forget Micah might have an appearance beyond his wheelchair, but as his character - he is so much more than that. Micah was inspired by a dear friend of mind, in the past, who is no longer with us - and I carry him with me everywhere I go. Micah has shaggy, curly brown hair, with deep eyes, a round face - and effeminate features. He is very handsome, but they all are - so maybe I should stop saying that. More than that, he is 'cute'. Chubby cheeked and innocent looking, green eyes and Harani in appearance.

Micah's story is coming - it's written but comes out in a later chapter. He is a deeply haunted individual with severe PTSD, not from what had been done to him - but because of what he has done. He is a shardling, and awoke far sooner than most people in the story. He has always been an awakened one, but he's afraid to use his power for a reason that will be disclosed in the future. His shard is active right now and he is aware of it, and in a manner of speaking - you could see this as a form of DID. Only, he and his shard are highly compatible, it talks to him sometimes and the discomfort of feeling that external voice is often why he says such awkward things.

Disabled dimensional mage, fiercely loyal to Tyr. Micah possesses an ability to 'know' things, in a manner of speaking, and he knows that Tyr is aware of his past and has never said anything. Tyr is (aware, that is), he can smell sin - and he's never treated Micah any differently for it. This had made Micah a sort of fanatic, something he's never spoken aloud so directly.

Tyr and Micah are biologically related (you'll see).

Micah is not a virgin, and never was (even before he met Tyr), and is actually a violently successful ladies man. Charming, smooth, and dashing - managing to overcome his infirmity in a bid to find someone who can nurture him the way his now deceased mother might have in the past. He was adopted into a middle-class noble house, but refuses to use their last name. Despite that, he does love his adoptive parents. He is submissive and wants a dominant female figure in his life, which has been hard to find - even with all of his talent. Micah is very famous at the academy, but he is insecure and views pretty much anyone else as better than him.

I don't want to say too much, but 'skill as a mage' starts to become less important in front of the truth. To contradict something I said before, Micah might actually be the most powerful beings in the story. You'll see. Naturally, someone like Abaddon could splatter him, but his power isn't 'big boom' - it's a lot more complex and it's coming pretty soon.

As an addendum to that, Micah cannot die. No more spoilers, though. :)

There's not a combat sequence where it's 'oh my goodness, Micah is dead, oh nooooo!' - so I don't consider it super relevant. He's just an eternal, like Tyr - again. His spinal injury is another story, and I explain that somewhat.

Micah likes gambling, reading, and magic in all of its forms.

Most notably, he has never lost a bet.

Micah is one of the few humans that has ever been born with space as their prime element - and it is not considered 'natural' to living beings. Ellemar was another notable, natural born dimensional mage, the author of a black book.

--

Tythas Slakt -

Prime Element: Dark

Appearance: Tythas is whip thin, tall (about 6 foot), with unnaturally pale skin and ebony black hair. He possesses an 'adeptcy', a special magical ability that transcends common mana theory, to trade life force for power. This is not forbidden if you're born with it. Thus, at times he might appear a middle aged / grown man, and at others he would appear young. It's become accepted at the academy, but every night he bathes in darkness magic to return his youth to him. I can't say much else without spoiling his plot. He has silver eyes, just like Iscari, and glossy black hair with long fringed bangs that hang over her forehead and eyes.

Tythas is the son of Titus Slakt, the Count and leading councilman of Amateus. A nation akin to Amistad, a sorcerer kingdom that was led to ruin by a surprise attack from the Brotherhood. He is the man that Tyr met in the bar at the very beginning of the story. He's sort of just here along for the ride, and his loyalty, unlike the others, is pretty much nonexistent. He is good friends with Brenn and Micah, and is one of the most famous darkness mages of all time.

'All time' is not an over-exaggeration, he isn't the general talent Alexis is - but he has received far more offers for apprenticeship than anyone else. In particular, necromancy and soul magic.

Tythas is a shy, gentle mannered young man. He has never gotten angry, not with anyone, and is often ignored because of how mellow he can be. He isn't traumatized, despite watching his entire family get executed by the Brotherhood, and he's not interested in vengeance. All he wants is his birthright, which Tyr has promised him. He trusts Tyr a great deal, never seeing the man break a promise, and is content just to live a normal life for the time being. Perhaps forever, he's never in his life had friends until now, he wasn't allowed to. In this way, he is very similar to Tyr.

He is very naiive, easily manipulated, and agreeable. Resulting in him getting bullied, but everyone is so terrified of the 'trio' (Alex, Sigi, Astrid) - that nobody bothers their friends anymore.

More on him will come relatively soonish as well, so I'm not sure how much I can say without spoiling too much (again :P).

Tythas is currently perhaps the 2nd most proficient necromancer in all of Amistad. He is 33% human.

--

Magnus Casterling -

Prime Element: Air/Fire (dual) - rare but not unheard of.

Appearance: Magus is tall, usually bare chested, and built like a swimmer. Let's say 6'2''. He is 'half black' - I'm saying this because he's Agoronian and because I got a weird question about 'racial diversity' again. There are a lot of POC characters, I... Guess? There is no Caucasian in this novel, man, everyone comes from the exact same bloodline. Magnus has a very muscular body, classic swimsuit model, and usually shows it. He is caramel toned and physically the most powerful of all 'the boys', except Iscari of course. He is physically stronger than Tyr, who is also ONE OF DA BOYS.

He is a magus, which is a form of mage that infuses magic into physical actions. 'Infusion magic', that branch of magic Tyr constantly uses to give him superhuman feats, is what they study. Ergo, he punches things very hard. He is not a very complex character, and doesn't have a tragic backstory. His family is still alive and he was raised in a whole household.

Magnus is very selfish, self assured, and reckless. He doesn't talk much, and remains fairly solitary. Most of his time is spent away from the group and he isn't very close to anyone, though he is still their friend. He is busy dedicating his life to the adventurer / mercenary lifestyle and has been working in the 'Krieg' (Kriegstad) for some time.

His talent for magic is great, like his father before him, but magus' rarely make it to the archmage tier. They study magic related to shapers in a blunt way, lacking creativity or nuance. Opting to channel raw elemental power that oftentimes results in permanent damage to the mana channels in ones body if they lose control. He is a very minor character, but I've included him because again (he's one of the BOYS).

Magnus likes: Women (he's a serial brothel enjoyer, yeehaw), alcohol, and himself.

--

Lina Kamari -

Prime Element: Water

Appearance: Almond eyes, the westerners are obviously Chinese/Japanese/Korean - it's pretty obvious so I don't thing I need to go too far on that. Alexandros is her father, but she takes after her mother. Korean, specifically, is how I'd describe her, a very clear complexion with a face people in Hjemland might consider foreign, with relatively short, straight black hair. Lina has gray-blue eyes that flicker between different shades, much like other westerners, but only when she's relaxed.

Lina is a paladin of Nyx, the goddess of river, fertility, and chasteness. She was removed from the Blue Rose knighthood and is on the verge of being excommunicated entirely. Why? Because of Tyr. Bad luck, but Tyr has effectively ruined her life and she knows this, but only blames herself.

I can skip ahead a bit, I don't mind and she's never that important to the story to begin with. Lina wanted to kill Tyr, to seek vengeance, but she felt such great pity for him that she decided to become a big sister figure of sorts. Lina is asexual, and doesn't connect with people on an aesthetical or physical level. Hence why Tyr (very cruelly) sexually harasses her, because he thinks it's funny. The reason he doesn't like her goes beyond her position as a paladin, but eventually they become very good friends. This is never explained, but as promised, I will elaborate more on things rather than leaving them hanging or 'surprise!'.

Lina and Tyr are a lot alike, she is twisted and cracked from her poor relationship with her father - and her abusive mother who blamed Lina (having a daughter with a primus) for her position in life. She was effectively abandoned by both parents, and isn't sure what she wants, she has a very mechanical mindset to life, being raised in a church. I said she was asexual, that means she doesn't feel SEXUAL (physical/romantic) attraction to another person, that doesn't mean she can't love / be loved, or be in a relationship. This is not important, unless you like her as a character, which you should - Lina is based. Tyr is a peace of shit sometimes and she's still willing to help him, because in her mind, loyalty is everything and Tyr is her friend.

Her past wasn't exactly tragic in the grand scheme of things, it evolved over time. She was, however, beaten to within an inch of her life before being left at the monastery. By her own mother, at a very young age, and via that process she suffered a permanent and undisclosed brain injury.

Lina is, and I repeat this, aware that Tyr ruined her life. The person she is won't allow her to blame him for this, perhaps it's a contrivance or perhaps it's a symbol of a complex sex-bereft relationship. I'm not sure just yet. But she's been thrown out on her own for the first time in her life and is trying to cling to something, to find purpose again.

To end any speculation - no. She will never be a part of the worlds greatest harem, Tyr disturbs her too much.

She is however, perhaps, the only 'mentor' he's had that's not trying to actively manipulate him. Lina is extremely proficient in magic and borderline junior-archmage tier. Her lack of real lust, for anything, makes him uncomfortable, but again this is never a plot point so maybe I should have explained that sooner (or not?). Because she's aesexual, she is about as pure as you can get while 'smelling like a god', hence his apparent dislike. Tyr loves her platonically, eventually, and would do anything for her in turn. His family.

Lina likes: Tyr, Farron, Okami, tomatoes, and Nyx. Eventually, for the first 3. One has to consider the fact that Okami slapped her silly when she very nearly manifested as a divine avatar (back in Aurora during the lycan attack).

She is a well known swordsman, and famous in certain parts of western Varia. She is good with money, bad with people - and is a character concerned with justice and protecting the innocent. A stereotypical paladin, and in a way - she believes she can 'fix' Tyr. Currently, Lina is one of two 'humans' (non-primus) - to know of Tyr's true past, and how he turned into the man he is today.

Others important enough to mention here

Hastur Casterling - Aka Bloody Hastur

Prime Element: Dark

Our 'antagonist' - an anima construct born through forbidden magic cast by (someone) (it's very spooky) to ensure that Cortus' shard remained alive after he was killed. Cortus died, destroyed, shred from reality - but as I've said before, shards can be their own separate people. Typically, once the host dies, the shard has to go with it - but Cortus was anchored to the world. Or more specifically, Hastur Casterling, who was off doing all sorts of exciting things in the world.

Let's get into a topic regarding shards, just a quick thing. Shards are the pieces of shattered gods, the pantheon that rules over all reality - and it relates to one or another. All lower gods (like Agni or Astarte) are tied to a high one, by cosmic lineage. Shards can be new gods, old gods, or whatever else - and a shard is not an aspect, they are different. Anyways. Octavian's shard is a man named Kal Ranaldi, and he is a farmer along the western coast with very little interest in warring or conflict. Every one of them can be totally different from the host, which is where the clash of personalities can come into play, sometimes they even hate the host outright or try to kill them. Which can't happen, compared to a primus a shard is very frail - but neither can kill the other, because if you do, you die. They are symbiotic in the worst way, two minds in the same biological set of brains.

Shards are sterile - they cannot breathe because while physically real - they are part of the celestial plane. I suppose...? Sort of like guardian angels with a twist, a fairy godmother insisting you should kill your children until one of real talent shows up.

Hastur created his children via magic in a bid NOT to spread his legacy, because he didn't want to. He was the primus of Hatred, distilled to the point of emotional desolation or loneliness. The opposite of hope/faith, I'd suppose, and once confronted with Tyr's original aspect, he went insane. Inside of an astral space where time moved different, he was possessed with dreams 50 years before Tyr was even born - insistent that Jartor's son was going to destroy the world.

Except, at that time, Jartor was without a son - and the decades flew by and none came. Hastur gradually worsened, from 40ish years old to his 90s and those dreams he kept having never came true. Constantly changing, to the image of the great maw that'll devour the universe, the rebirth of something beyond the mundane concept of evil.

It happened, Tyr was born, and Hastur was convinced he was the one - the great evil. He struck out, manipulating a nation of beastkin into invading Haran after abandoning Trafalgar to its fate. Naturally, this didn't go to plan, and that's where his story ends (for now).

Hastur has never shown real aggression to Tyr because he loves the Prince for a specific reason. He no longer believes Tyr is the coming apocalypse, but rather the savior of the world. No longer dominated by his need to 'hate' - since he is no longer a primus - freed from those shackles. With that being said, Hastur still thinks his method is right, because Tyr will either die before he truly transcends - or the fog will come sooner. And it is very close, even as we speak, to engulfing the eastern half of the continent.

That's where any chance of spoilers end, their relationship is a lot more complex than first glance might tell you. Currently, Hastur is convinced that Tyr is his ticket to becoming a primus, because Tyr's power gives far more than it takes. Hence: Tiber awakening, and some events that unfold to create 'The Chosen'.

Jartor and Signe = Tyr's biological parents, it's not a Darth Vader moment. They are not related by blood or anything silly like that.

Hastur is Lernin's father, and Magnus' grandfather. He is capable of impregnating women via magic, courtesy of a mage named Lazarus who shows up later in the story. Lazarus is a very important character behind the scenes.

--

Lesser / recently or frequently mentioned characters -

Varinn ???? - The man who trained Tyr to access the choir, opening his spirit up and guiding him to discovering spira. Via the fire dance, back in Riverwood. Explaining any of his backstory would be a big spoiler, but he is an outworlder (like Daito), and adopted the latter as a daughter (now, obviously, a son). Again, I can't say too much more, or it won't be as spooky later on.

Rafael Evenstar - Guild Master of the Hunter's adventurer guild, Lyran born. Frosty blue eyes, known for his fine control of ice magic which is typically not used in combat because of the temperature differential. IE: Tyr's fire can reach temperatures between 1500-2000 degrees, but you can't get colder than absolute zero. His grip on the mana of his own spells is so refined that he can cyclically moderate the temperature to ensure he doesn't get steamed like a crab. The 'Winter Knight' - mentioned just recently, I may provide further backstory later but for now he's just a tertiary character.

Leda Honeygrass - Alexis Goldmane's best friend, a halfling, with very little talent for magic but all of the intellect to make up for it. She is a pre-eminent scholar in the field of arcane theory, and tends the eternal flame outside the gates of the academy. Leda is a celebrity in Amistad, and viewed as a hero to her people for being so successful despite the questionable status of halflings in the human dominated world.

Lernin Casterling - Headmaster of the Red Dragon, black hair and silver eyes. Archmage, very well known among the academic community, believes Tyr is the Primus of magic. Son of Hastur (Cortus), and I'll explain why he's not a primus despite that. Father of Magnus Casterling, and brother to ???? ;)

Kael Emberwind - Archmage and professor of the battle magic study in the academy, but this does not directly translate to combat (personal armies are forbidden in the successor states, this becomes important later). Long, platinum gold hair worn loose, known for being one of the better human combatants in the world. His grandfather was a westerner clansman, and Kael is a 'guardian' - a hidden faction in the world centered in Amistad that gets attention later on. A famous adventurer once called the 'Bringer of Ash', earning him some very unfortunate attention from things you don't want to be noticed by. There's a reason why platinum rank seems the ceiling for adventurers in the world, and why we haven't seen any mithril+ entries. Rafael, for example, is world famous and a platinum ranked adventurer, despite there being 4-5 ranks above that. For context, a hero would rank at about 'adamantite' / 'mithril' depending on what country you're from, but heroes obviously don't become adventurers (usually), since they are sworn to gods.

Wilhelm Atreus - Professor of warding for the Red Dragon, not mentioned very often but he is also a very well known archmage in Amistad. Very muscular, and large, for a mage. He too is a guardian.

Professor Urden - Necromancy proctor for the Red Dragon. Little to nothing is known about her, even by her peers and colleagues. She is a watcher, another faction.

Ella - Pregnant woman from the farm in the earlier chapters. Gave birth, is currently leading Tyr's business empire and is not one of the richest women on the planet. Very talented in business. She is currently dating Tythas whilst raising her child, swearing off her deadbeat husband for 'leaving them again'. Tyr may or may not have killed him, it is unknown what happened to Arthan after he was inducted into the blackguard after a failed bank robbery. I have no released this chapter, it was too filler-y and I already have enough of that. I may work it into the story in a more organic way, but for now - he's presumed dead on his intro mission to the guard. Ella has a genius level IQ, and is an apothecary that creates some of the best quality potions in the world.

Daito Takahashi - Goroshi's father, a mysterious figure and mentor to Tyr one moment, apparent executioner the next. Androgynous in appearance. Very whimsical at first glance but clearly a very cunning and observant individual. Daito still obeys the precepts of his clan and will kill the yao (half monster / half human) wherever he finds them. He likes to fool people into believing he is a song mage, but he is actually the most talented swordsman the clans have seen in a generation - he's just lazy. Daito was a male, was born in reincarnation as a woman, and became a male once again via spira magic. Amnesia and other memory related disorders regarding his previous life ensures he'll never be able to explain why he identifies that way - he is a character brought to this world by unknown means that will be explained later. He is Varinn's son (adopted). Daito is a watcher.

Goroshi Takahashi - The first big guy strong man adventurer Tyr happened to meet, always wears a mask, loves Rose (the attendant and Gerald's daughter) - Tyr's friend as well. Goroshi's fist name is actually Hanabi, which means 'flower fire' in the western tongue (fireworks) - is is a female name and after a great deal of societal pressure he earned a new one for himself. Goroshi - Slayer. He is one of the premier active watchers traveling the lands in the name of clan Taka, looking for future threats and the children of Yao. Goroshi is a watcher, like his father.

Gerald and Bert - Association employees, the forming being High Arcanist. I didn't want to go on too long about these guys, just a reminder.

Girshan - Beastkin. Black hair, like a panther. Ajax's brother (surprise ah ha ha) and warrior of Sinea. A technique mage, he doesn't hate Tyr - but he doesn't like him either. Wishes that Jura would come back, remains in the vicinity of Kriegstad, taking jobs so as to look after his 'daughters'. After the death of Abrath, his oldest friend, Girshan has become very quiet and sullen, though he'll never talk about it so directly.

Yana - Beastkin. Girshan's niece, she, Ajax, and Girshan are all from the same clan (Bloodfang - Kadd'jorr in their native tongue). She is about 5'10'' with purple black hair and vivid blue eyes with veins of gray. Very athletic, likes fashion, meeting new people, and adventuring. Trained in the ways of the Sinean shrine guardians, using a bladed pendulum with a crescent weight on one end and a short bladed rapier on the other.

Kirk - He's a pretty unique character, hard to miss the giant crab tank with flamethrower hands. Kirk is a very jovial, friendly maxxid (large sentient crabs once awakened) and is the son of the current sovereign of Maxxid society. Making him the royal to the empire of ocean dwelling sentients that rule the seas and protect Milano and most other coastlines from dangerous threats. Extremely loyal, likes his husband (Tyr), and sleeping for the vast majority of the day unless something is going on. Currently, he lives in Tyr's estate in the republic and has an entire wing of the household dedicated to him, a giant aquarium called 'Kingdom Kirk'. Samson is barred from fishing in these waters after he just so happened to grill and eat Kirk's cousin. ("on accident")

Camille and Rakkis - Benny's old teammates, wanderers, they both refused to become knighted - still interested in working as adventurers. Both are good people, the rest of Benny's team left for other countries to avoid what was happening to the Republic.

Doug of the Blackguard - He was a character mentioned a few times in very early chapters, one of the few that stayed with Tyr. He is still around, living in the estate and working as a security guard of sorts for the princesses. He isn't very smart, and has no idea what's going on - he's just happy to be here, and not in jail for punching an Assyrian camel in the head and killing it. Why he did this, nobody knows. The others sort of just forgot about him, and by 'sort of' - I mean literally.

Whiskey Guy - Honorable mention, he sells whiskey. I like him.
