It takes three days to arrive back in Astria. I am feeling very nervous but I won’t back down. I have the support I need and I know I can stand up to my father. I walk through the streets of Astria still in my disguise. Heading to the main castle and using shadow magic to get past all of the guards. I pass through all the doors and stand before the large doors to the throne room. I drop the disguise and come out of the shadows.
I step into the throne room throwing open the doors. I yell out “Father! I challenge you to a duel!” my parts look at me from their thrones in shock. “Andras? How are you alive?!” I walk closer as magic gathers at my fingertips “I was never dead.” My father scowls and stands “Guards!” they rush me but I easily push them back with my dark magic. I shout “Face me like a man!” I smirk as he grabs his blade from his scabbard.
My father rushes forward and swings his blade. I react using Gale’s wind to swiftly dodge the hit. But my father turns fast, cutting my back with his sword. I recoil in pain but quickly back off.
Waving my hand I send out waves of black flames. My father brings up a golden shield of light. I shift and fade into the shadows casted on the ground. Popping back up I slam black fire into my father. He lets out a scream of pain “Ahhhh!” I take a few steps back.
The knights around the throne room see the king losing. They start to walk closer. I wave a hand and call forth my elementals to form a wall. Gale shifting wind, Lake adding in water and Leonidus roaring at any knight who gets too close. I slam my pommel into my father’s side “This is a duel. Only he and I can finish this.” The knights standing on the other side of the wall make some protest but I ignore them. Looking at my father and stepping closer to him.

My father falls to his knees as I push him to the floor. My mother cowering as she cries out “My love!” I ignore her as I bring my blade up to his chin. I press my sword against my father’s neck, he looks up at me as he kneels. He scowls as he spits up some blood “You… You dare take the throne demon spawn!?” I stare down at him. I do not think he deserves a response but… I am a villain so I should make a speech right? I think for a moment before smiling.
“If I am the spawn of a demon then I should be glad. At least now I can live on without calling you my father.” He scowls and I laugh “You really should have kept a better eye out for me. I heard everything about your plans to make me stronger.” He pales as I continue “You poisoned me, got Sarah to beat me and infect me with illness. It's a pure miracle that I am alive!” I glance at my mother “I hope that you know that… I wanted to find a wife, but I couldn’t trust any woman in this kingdom to not try what Erica did. I am sorry mother.” I then take a step closer to my father and take his crown off his head.
I take a deep breath “You wanted a villain. Now you have one.” I shift as shadows flicker across my skin. I watch as horror fills their expressions as I make my appearance quite frightening. I know it’s bad to feel this good but… I was never really a good guy to begin with was I?
