Days went by as I spent most of it in The teepee I only really ventured outside to use the hole. As directed by the medicine man.

I slowly had the pain and cravings go away over the weeks.

The medicine the medicine man was giving me was really working.

He often Sat and prayed. He told me stories of the past. Shared his dinners with me.

He is more of a family member than I ever had.

Which made me intrigued by his knowledge of the spirit world and the living world around us.

His seven teachings of honesty, respect,love, humility,wisdom,courage and truth.

Which helped shape people's aspects in their lives.

I watched him heal others with various illnesses,wounds and perform ceremonies.

I had no idea of the power my people processed, the true power of the land.

The medicine man walked Into the teepee.

"Today, you have your last tea here in this teepe. I will smoke and ask if we will travel."

I took the cup in hand and drank the tea and felt the contents give me a good feeling inside my stomach.

"The spirits tell me to travel you to the southern holy city."

I looked at the medicine man

"just me and you?"

He exhaled, then spoke.

"We shall be accompanied by 7 warriors."

I looked at the medicine man.

"When will we go?"

"Today, once the Warriors are gathered,this too, is their path."

He walked out and I followed him.

In the center of the camp was a large fire,

Everyone was gathered.

The medicine man spoke alongside the chief.

" I will be Traveling with this man to the holy city. The Great spirit asked me to travel with 7 warriors, this path is a deadly one, but a path that the great spirit has made for only 7 of the bravest Warriors."

The woman warrior held her spear into the air and walked up with her small hunting party.

The medicine man nodded "They will do!"

The crowd cheered and drummed and sang.

The medicine man and the Warriors gathered by the Travious and wolves that pulled it. On the travious sat the medicine man and a bunch of offerings for my healing from the tribe.

Food provisions and supplies.

Arrows and spears.

The group was ready to leave.

And travel.

I started to follow the wolves pulling the Travious, the Warrior woman spoke to me on the walk

"What's your name, mine is dark cloud?"

"My name is Drifting winds."

"Well it's nice to meet you."

We continued down the fields.

"Have you hunted before?"Dark Cloud asked me.

"Yes, just not with a bow."

Dark cloud smiled. "With a spear then?"

And held up her spear.

I shook my head.

"No with guns."

Dark cloud was confused. "Guns."

I shook my head.

"Yeah It's nothing."

We kept walking.

The clouds in the sky darkened and then it started to rain. Lucky for us we made it to the bush line and were able to make a quick shelter. Out of the Travious hide.

The other hunters went hunting and I helped start a fire.

And watched camp with the medicine man.

He started to pray and smoke his pipe.

"The spirits tell me the place we are going, that is the place the ones you speak about, they want to see the holy city."

I looked at the medicine man then he puffed again.

" Don't be afraid they can't do anything about what they will see anyway, they have no power over it."

I looked at him as he handed me the pipe.

I smoked and felt the tobacco herb combination make me feel at ease.

I rested my head and later awoke to Dark Cloud pushing me awake.

"Get up, Let's move."

It wasn't raining anymore.

The travelling party was moving along and it seems the hunting party earlier had harvested a small Deer which they fed to the wolves for pulling the supplies and medicine man.we came across another tribe heading to the holy city we joined parties.

We continued to walk together towards the city. During the night we made camp and had a nice fire under the stars.

The hunters had flutes they played and we enjoyed our dried meats and water.

The peace was interrupted when we heard a horn sound off into the night.

And the Warriors stood up.

The medicine man yelled out.

"The Man eating buffalo people!"

He handed me a tomahawk.

I stood with my back against an old tree looking around at the Warriors scanning the area.

One warrior was hit with a spear. The spear went right through him and pegged into the ground. Blood sprayed out from his wound.

He fell to his knees on the ground.

Trying to hold his blood.

The buffalo person charged in sending the kneeling man flying impaling him onto the spear pegged into the ground behind him. The maneater buffalo person stood up and screamed loudly.

" I will eat every child in your tribe!"

The Warrior woman swung her spear into the buffalo man eater.

Slicing part of his nose off.

The Warrior woman jump rolled away from the Buffalo's war club swing.

The Warriors surround the man eater buffalo warrior.

And start attacking with their weapons and more of his buffalo warriors join the fight. I joined the fight swinging my war club into the buffalo Dark Cloud was evading. The war club caved in the orbital bone and the top of the skull of the buffalo warrior. It went down. As I continued to swing on the dead buffalo Warriors head. The medicine man released the barking wolves, The wolves and Native warriors fought side by side to kill the buffalo Warriors.

I looked over and saw a buffalo warrior standing over Dark cloud, I took off running I lunged and jumped on the Buffalo sending us both into a forward roll right over Dark Cloud. Dark Cloud turned over to look at me and the Buffalo wrestling on the ground.

I wrestled the buffalo into a back head lock position. But like a natural animal I felt inclined to bite Into the neck of the buffalo tearing into it with my teeth.

The blood of the buffalo's jugular vein poured on both of us. The beast tried to cover its neck. I stood up with his club in my hands and started to smash the beast's skull in till it cracked open.

The Warrior woman Dark Cloud walked up to me, The buffalo's blood covered my vision, she stopped me from hitting the creature. I looked at her and sat down and started to breathe.

She sat next to me and wiped the blood off my face.

I looked at her and she looked at me with her blood covered face.

"Thank-you for saving my life,Drifting wind."

"No thank-you for saving me, Dark cloud."

I stood up and held out my hand for her. She accepted my help and stood up beside me.

We walked back to the medicine man who was trying his best to help the wounded but it was too late for most of the Warriors.

And too many wounded to carry with us.

The Warriors that joined earlier decided they would stay behind and protect the wounded that couldn't travel.

Me, Dark Cloud and the medicine man and the wolves continued to our destination.

It was a long day walk through a vast desert plains and at night we made a small smokeless fire next to a small natural water Spring. We ate the last of our provisions and water. We refilled our water skins for tomorrow's trip.

"Tomorrow evening the three of us should have reached the holy city." The medicine man spoke before sitting down on his buffalo hide With the wolves.

I laid down looking at the stars. Dark cloud came laid beside me. She covered me with her buffalo robe and we slept her head on my chest.

The medicine man chuckled and smoked his pipe.
