Chapter 4: Investigation...

The stupor atmosphere widened across the small living room of a quite special motel. This motel was the place, where the ragged Viktor and Arslan was brought by the "Immovable" Monk Sakrysia. The room had a mirthful and astounding atmosphere, but was depleted somewhere when the three people seated.

Arslan intently fixated his gaze towards Leila who was frantically trying to arrange the table in order. Viktor who was seated also fixated his gaze towards Leila.

The pressure of the two's gazes made Leila nervous of her actions. Which in turn made the two furrow their brows.

"Hey... Do you really know how to set a table?"

The first one who broke the silence was Viktor. His still visage made Leila turn to him, and revealed a shamed face.

"So-sorry..."

Leila led out a distressing voice and decided to stop her actions. Arslan who noticed the sudden interjection decided to voice the best course of action.

"Uhh... How about we do this? "

Arslan stood up and took the rag lying on the wooden chair nearby. He then cleared the table of the foods and wiped it all over, until the white linen turned dark from the dusts.

"Now, Place those back."

Arslan signaled Viktor, and Viktor who immediately decrypted the sign, moved and placed the steamy grace on the table.

"This is the simplest way to do this... Why haven't you done it?"

With a shaming voice. Arslan said towards Leila who was still standing dumbfounded after watching the fast pace of the cleared table operation.

"That's because... "

"What?" Arslan again furrowed his brows in anticipation.

"I-I'm sorry..." Leila led out a stressed voice in response and her head hung down.

"Nah... Forget about it... Even monkeys jumps from trees! That means even a perfect like person would fail!"

Viktor tried to clear out the stupor atmosphere between Arslan and Leila, and Leila who heard the poem riposted with.

"I think you mean, Even monkeys fall from trees..."

"Ah..." Viktor's jaw dropped as he noticed his failure.

"That's still okay, since you got the meaning... HaHaHa!"

After deciding to laugh off his failure, and the two noticing his weird behavior, laughed like small children, and that's where Viktor concluded that his plan had succeeded, nevertheless.

The once stupor environment was now filled with mirth,But the problem still remained.

After speeding off the food plates, The once filled up bowl was now empty in a matter of seconds. It was Arslan who paced up the served food, But even though the food was finished in an instant. The two adults who were with him wasn't even wavered to the slightest.

They understood the child's situation. Who knows how many days did he not eat while travelling on that barren land?

Perhaps he was so hungry that Arslan even forgot table manners that was very crucial to them, nobles. Or maybe because the food is free, and Arslan decided to speed through it since their not the one paying for it. As for the answer. Arslan only knows.

"So..."

After letting out a "Fwee" sound. Arslan rubbed his stomach and decided to break the silent atmosphere that enshrouded them.

"Hmm?"

The two adults were the first person to finish their plates, and decided to tap their greed for food after having witnessed Arslan pacing through the food plates. The first person who was able to respond to Arslan's sudden voice was Viktor. Leila was busy trying to clean the plates that Arslan sped off.

"Can I leave this place?" Arslan's carefree attitude was now replaced with a serious one. He carefully placed his posture and glanced at Viktor, and the stunned Leila who was still carrying the plates.

"Leave this place? First of all, Do you even have a home to go to?" Viktor was steadfast in his response and struck Arslan in the place where it hurt the most.

"You do have a point, but..."

"But?" Viktor furrowed his brows and displayed signs of curiosity.

"Nothing... Just explain to me the reasons why I can't leave this place."

After stopping for a few seconds. Arslan shook his head and continued.

"First of all... We're under surveillance. "

"!" The word "under surveillance" shook Arslan the most and made him unconsciously widen his pupils, and slam the wooden table.

"What's happening!" A voice struck from the outside, and knocked on the door. The three turned their gazes towards the door, and glanced at Viktor who was trying to make a sign.

"Shh..." Viktor signed with his hands a familiar sign,  Meaning: Keep Quiet.

The two who immediately understood decided to feign a facade, and said.

"Ohh! Please be careful Viktor! We can't afford to break anythings hereee... We can't afford to paay..." Leila was the first person to spoke and decided to strengthen her resolve and faked.

"Really... Really... Kuya Viktor! You should be careful next timeee! The floor is somewhat wet, so please be careful about slippinggg!" Arslan also rode off the game, and faked. [Author Note: Kuya is a Filipino term for brother...]

"Ohhh... I'm really a stupid personnn! How could I trip with a glass of waterrr! Hahaha!" Viktor jumped into the fray after seeing the gazes of the two pressing him to join the faking.

"Be careful not to break anything there! Or else we will demand double times payment!" The voice again struck the insides of the room. Instead of causing a ruckus. The three were revealing a smug smile as they stood up and cleaned the room.

After cleaning out the table of the food. Viktor brought a parchment and an Ink pen with him. The two instantly deduced the reason for bringing the items and silently seated themselves unto their designated seats.

Viktor dipped the ink pen unto the ink bottle, and decided to write the first line of message.

"Second... We'll be placed as a wanted criminal if we escape from this facility..."

After reading the message. Arslan snatched off the Ink pen from Viktor and decided to write his own message.

"For what reason? Did you two perhaps did something hideous?!"

The two shook their heads and Leila seized the Ink pen from Arslan's miniature like hands.

"They're suspecting us for black magic practice. The reason was, the protective wall of the city broke after you two got inside, and after through inspections. They found out that the barrier was laced with darkness element, and the primary suspects were the two of you. The last persons who got inside the wall. What's more, At night."  After squeezing her message unto the almost filled up parchment. Leila reprimanded the Ink pen to Viktor.

Viktor took another parchment in a hasted way, and placed it back unto the table, and scribbled once again.

"From my inspections, These will be their actions tomorrow. "

The two who scanned the parchments widened their pupils and looked like asking for more. Viktor who picked up the atmosphere decided to write the next sentences.

"Element Affinity Test."

"Physical Strength Test."

"Questioning. "

The two nodded as a sign that they've finished reading the recently scribbled message. Viktor took a sigh and wrote once more.

"These tests will be conducted tomorrow at unknown times, I wasn't able to gather information about when they'll be conducted, But at least, This much is clear. "

"And also..." Viktor sighed once again and scribbled.

"I think that Arslan will not test positive on the Physical Strength Test, Given his short stature and body." The two again nodded, but there was a person who nodded with a slight revelation of anger. Viktor noticed this and decided to write.

"Being negative doesn't mean you're the culprit. It's more advantageous to be negative than to be positive. " Arslan and Leila enthusiastically nodded, and signed Viktor to continue.

"For the questioning. Leila is obviously out of this so that makes Arslan and me viable to frame ups, and also!" With this, Viktor stopped scribbling as the ink bottle ran out of ink, and decided to whisper his last message to the two.

"Be wary about their calm stature. There are devils hiding in their visages." With this whisper. Only one person widened her eyes in shock. The two were steadfast. With a glint of determination in their eyes.
