The city of Empire.
Darick under his father got a slot to go to training as a police officer in June after graduating from high school. He did the training which wasn't as challenging as he imagined. But he did train with different weapons such as semi-automatic pistols, double-action revolvers, rifles, sniper rifles, designated marksman rifles, battle rifles, assault rifles, carbines, shotguns, & submachine guns.
They including Darick was also taught how to do non lethal takedowns such as shooting them in the leg even though they trained with BB's not with live ammo.
The training only lasted a month and Darick got assigned to the Ninth precinct with his father but the city of Empire has a population of one million, five hundred and eighty thousand, seven hundred and sixty-four and there are twenty-seven hundred and forty patrol officers, fifteen hundred Island Patrol officers, ninety-six S.W.A.E.S.U or Special Weapons And Emergency Service Unit, and eighty detectives not adding auxiliary police, highway patrol, housing police, Harbor police, school safety, bomb squad, air support, Counter-terrorism, and transportation police.
At the Ninth precinct. The ninth is a four-story rectangular building with a three foot concrete wall and a sign that says "POLICE DEPARtMENT EMPIRE BAY". It has bay in it because it's the city's nickname due to it sits on a bay.
There were also four 1968 Hornet Custom 750's (1968 Ford Custom 500's) which are painted black on the front and back half with the doors and center part of the cars white.
On the doors, it says "EMPIRE/EMPIRE BAY POLICE EST 1798 WE SERVE TO PROTECT"
Darick then entered the preceint and the captain he didn't want Darick there due to he just got out of training and he only wants professionals in his dept.
Darick's father told him not to worry about it where Captain Esposito always has a stick up his ass. His father then told him to get dressed in his street clothes so Darick did and his father then told him to go get an unmarked car.

In the garage Darick went up to an officer and said "I want an unmarked car" and the officer had him sign it out before getting the keys to a 1967 Sorbert Gelato ('67 Buick Riviera).
***
Outside of the precient.
"Fue agradable ponerse al dia contigo," said Darick's father, "Hasta luego Oficial Hernandez"
Darick's father then got in the car.

"What did you say to him?" asked Darick
Darick's father replied in English, "I said, "It was nice catching up with you see you later officer Hernandez". Now double-time it to the Golden Goose bar,"
***
At the bar.
"What are we doing here dad?" asked Darick
Darick's father replied, "Eastside. You should know every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday there's always a bar brawl. Today is Wednesday and right about... Now."
As said there were six people fighting but they got thrown out of the bar
"Alright Darick," said Darick's father, "There are three types of perps. The unarmed ones save your bullets and shooting them is a major no. The ones armed with some kind of melee weapon only shoot if it's necessary and the third and final type is the ones packing heat if they don't drop their gun or guns then it's open season on them. I've put a lot down even though a lot of them were Viet Cong, not criminals."
Darick then got out of the car and his father told him to flash his badge or to fire a warning shot into the air so Darick grabbed his badge and shouted "EMPIRE POLICE!".
They didn't work so Darick grabbed his parkerized Phoenix pistol (an Automatic pistol, caliber .45, M1911A1) and fired a warning shot into the air.
It scared them and they stood there not knowing what to do but Darick arrested them and placed them down on the ground and he went back over to the car and grabbed a walkie-talkie.
" Dispatch this is 9-X-Ray-14," said Darick, "Requesting a Criminal transport van to the Golden Goose bar at 4532 East Smith Street."
Darick then had to wait in the hot sun not adding it was 94 degrees Fahrenheit but the humidity makes it feel as if it's 135 degrees Fahrenheit. But wearing a dark blue shirt dark blue trousers, a dark blue full Winsdor tie, and a dark blue police cap made it even more hotter.
It felt like it was going to take forever but after eleven minutes a 1965 Americana-styled paddy wagon showed up where Darick and two other male police officers came and put the six men into the paddy wagon before heading back to the ninth precient.
Darick then got back into the car.
"Alright boy wonder," said Darick's father, "Get over to Spencer's international shipping warehouse. And double time it,"
***
Four minutes later
Outside of the warehouse in an alley.
"Alright Darick stay here and if I'm not out in ten," said Darick's father, "Come in guns blazing."
Darick stayed in the car but after a few minutes he grabbed his pistol only to put it back but he unbuckled the seatbelt.
There was a massive explosion.
A few minutes later.
Darick got up but has a massive headache and ringing in his ears he could faintly hear
"Engine 18, Engine 19, Engine 47, Engine 14, Engine 69, Ladder 18, Ladder 19, Ladder 47, Ladder 14, Ladder 69, Battalion 18, Squad 525, Rescue 17, & Snorkle 71. Still & Box alarm, 2nd alarm, 2-11. Building explosion unknown causes,"
Darick then drifted in and out of conscience for a few minutes.
Five minutes later
Darick saw a four-inch yellow rubber hose going down the hose but saw a few men wearing black leather jackets with yellow stripes, three-quarter boots, and aluminum New Yorker-styled firefighter helmets.
Darick was able to climb out but he was so dizzy that he was able to get about ten steps before falling down.
***
Half an hour later
Darick awaken when he only saw an African-Little Birden paramedic push the wheeled stretcher and an Asain-Little Birden (Korean to be exact) pulling the stretcher but couldn't understand what either or was saying due to the ringing in his ears.
He remembers a little bit more of seeing a bright light earlier but that he thought was from the sun.
***
Twenty-one minutes ago.
As Darick laid on the concrete ground where a fireman ran over to him after he came out of the building in three-quarter boots, a rubber jacket with yellow stripes, an aluminum helmet that says "FIREFIGHTER 47 31411971 EMPIRE BAY", and an open-circuit self-contained breathing apparatus.
Darick thought he could hear something but the only thing he could hear was the ringing in his ears but the firefighter did say something and that was, "Mayday, mayday we got an police officer down. Ladder 47 to Chief Richter. Mayday mayday got an police officer down,"
Chief Richter replied, "Roger that calling for EMS now,"
Darick could hear a more distant but close ringing but that isn't from what Darick could hear from the explosion but from the firefighter's SCBA saying there's low air in the pack.

At the hospital.
Darick had a pupil dilation test but he told the doctor that he has ringing in his ears.
The doctor told him he has Tinnitus but had to write it down.
