As I expected, there wasn’t much for me to note in a single day, so I’ve waited a week (7 days, is that still how they split their days up here?). I’ve come to accept that I am really a baby now. My mother has fed me several times each day, while my father would leave the house all day, most likely to work on a farm or something similar.

While I’m awake I made sure to pay attention to anything important within the house, for the first day I didn’t notice anything of importance. However, on the second day, I was awake when my mother decided to begin cooking. When she lit the fire under the pot, she used her finger! And I mean she used her finger, as in, she pointed her finger and flames shot out onto the wood! So that narrows down some possibilities of where and when I am, and also makes me excited. There is magic in some capacity within my life, in the future I’ll be able to learn it. And even better, work with it (I’m sorry, I couldn’t help myself from imagining work).

After that, there were times I noticed other casual uses of magical abilities, my mother would use some wind to move dust about and water to put out the fire. In terms of magic, it seems that it is limited to household chores, so I am not certain by what mechanism it works, be it a job system with skills or a more realistic learning system. I haven’t seen my father use any magic, so I don’t have much to compare my mother’s magic with.

Aside from my observations towards my mother, not much has happened. Luckily she speaks to herself while she does her chores, so I am making my current work learning the language. I’ve begun to get an idea of what sounds the language normally uses, it appears to use phonemes that are like those of European languages. I haven’t heard anything that I am not used to hearing at home, aside from that melody when she speaks. Perhaps it’s our voice itself?

All in all, I have more questions than answers now and based off how much I have been able to note from the past week, for the time being I may just journal when something big happens or after enough time. It may be some time before you hear from me again, but I’ll make sure it has plenty to read!
