Chapter 1: A Look Into Her Life

Chapter 1: A Look Into Her Life

Inside of a low average middle school located close to the rising crime city of Atlanta just thirty minutes away from midtown; it’s building just two stories, mildly graffitied, infrastructure looking rather outdated, standing in the hallway by their lockers, two boys around the ages of 14 & 15 were packing to get to the next period. The first boy, Andre, a Latino mixed European kid, the top ranking student in terms of academics and sports has no clue just how popular he was. The boy standing next to him was his best friend John, a regular Caucasian boy on his level in terms of sports but lacked basic knowledge and is also notorious for getting rejected by most girls in their school.

Andre’s casually putting his books in his book bag while his best friend John’s being the pervy eye boy he is, glimpsing at every girl walking past them.

“John… you okay? You seem more thirsty than yesterday.” he asked.

John caught his eyes on some wide hip action, making his eyes bulge out.

“Oh damn Andre, these bitches are so fine, my god! Oh man would I kill to be in your league bro!” John said as he gripped his chin, analysing more girls behinds as his eyes twinkled.

Andre slams his locker shut after putting in the last textbook in his bag, startling his best friend, making him jump.

“Why do you keep implying this status on me John? I’m not some stupid fuck boy like you, okay?”

John’s mouth turned to an oval, raising his brows.

“Bro, you’re mad tripping!” He points to his best friend with the edge of his lip raised. “You’re the biggest fuck boy in our grade, the hell are you talking about yo! You make me laugh brother!”

Andre rolled his eyes. “Why are you talking like that man, it’s so ghetto…”

“What do you mean?! You’re fucking tripping mad today aren’t you? Bwahaha, let's get to class before the teacher gets hella mad at us for running late again.”

Andre sighs. “That’s because your dumbass always tries to get a female's number but is always met with rejection… Oo, the pain of being you my friend.”

John dipped his hands, crossing them, trying to act all cool.

“Motha… Motha fucka this ain’t no time to joke like that, chill yo!”

Andre rolled his eyes again, starting to walk to the direction of his next class.

“Me? Chill! Yeah right, more like ‘You!’ should stop trying to act hard and just shut up.”

John blew air out his nose, feeling hurt.

“Yo man, why are you so mad cold, this is so fucking—goddamn it, shit!”

He then followed his best friend for a second but a black girl nearby got his attention because of her looks so he decided to try his luck with her as Andre kept walking.

John chased, then asked, but quickly got rejected without even being looked at. He groaned, stomped his foot then rushed back to his buddy who almost left him in the dust. Catching up to him, bumping his shoulder, returning to their original pointless conversation that went nowhere, John laughed. But as the two walked, right in front of them coming their way was…

“Andre, babe, hey!”

A busty girl named Sindy; with gorgeous bright brown eyes and the pinnacle of beauty in their grade, every girl wanted to be her. She had pigtails, hair dyed from rooted black to purple tips, and a figure to die for for any girl in their grade came rushing to them as she waved to Andre. Immediately the girl jumped onto Andre, rubbed her face on his chest and let off to look into his bright eyes. His eye twitched, he gave the girl a cold shoulder, pushing her off and walking away. She gasps and follows suit. John was about to as well until another girl got his attention, so he felt confident this time to try his luck and pursued that girl.

Sindy puffed her cheeks out and grabbed his arm to stop him.

“Andre, stop! Won’t you say hi to your beautiful best friend here?!”

Andre groaned. “What now Sindy? Can’t you see I’m trying to get to class…”

John caught up after failing to get another girl's attention yet again.

“Man fuck that hoe and you asses left me behind yo! The hell's wrong with cha?”

Sindy glimpsed at John then turned back to Andre.

“Oh shut up John, Andre and I are talking.”

John waved his finger. “Ey, chill with yo fine ass girl!”

She rolled her eyes, and pressed her chest against his arm.

“Andre, don’t you want to go on a date with me after school? I’ll show you a good time!”

Andre kept his eyes forward, not even giving a glimpse of her sexual teasing.

“Yeah no thanks, and knowing you, you might have a body count over ten by now.”

Sindy didn’t like that answer, actually it almost made her cry.

“Andre, you jerk! I’m still a virgin!”

“Yeah, probably in your dreams.” Andre replied with a cold tone.

She gasps more, and actually lets out a tear.

“You-you jerk!”

Andre sighed again. He stopped walking and hugged her to calm her emotions.

“I know I know, relax, I was just joking.”

Sindy wrapped her arms around him and sniffled.

“Well I wasn’t!”

She brought back her original happy face quickly.

“You can make it up to me by going on that date with me. We’ve known each other for a long time, haven't we?”

“Yeah yeah, since childhood, look no is no. You know I’m trying to focus on my future right now right? So regardless of our age, the answer will still be most likely forever be, no.”

Sindy frowns, and sighs deeply. “It was worth a shot, oh well…”

John decided to butt in, brushing his fingers through his brown hair and leaning a hand against a locker.

“Hey Sindy, I’m here and available for a date for you girl, chu know what I mean baby doll? Ahahaha!”

Sindy crossed her arms and looked away.

“Tch… Piss off John, you’ll never be in the same league as Andre, so ew.”

John’s eyes bugged out upon hearing her saying ew to him, and his eyes were widened in anger.

“Me…? EW?! Bitch! Do you not see all this!”

He ran both hands across his body, to which Sindy replied by tapping her mouth as she let out a loud yawn.

“What do you mean ew?! I’m fucking athletic, built ass fuck, and I’m handsome, you know what, you can go eat a dick!”

Sindy yawned, sticking her hip out as she tapped her hand over her mouth unamused.

“Oh haha, cry me a river. How about you go eat a dick since no girl wants you. Might as well roll with the same sex at this point right?”

She gave him a smug grin, and John’s lips rose.

John grinded his teeth and raised his shoulders. “Why you little fucking!”

The two got into each other's faces, butting heads and grinding their teeth. Andre chuckled softly, then as he looked forward again he spotted the one person who he would devote time to, the only girl he’d acknowledge their existence nor ignore.

Andre raised his hand in the air, and shouted, “Desy! Hey, over here!”

Desy’s a below average looking girl compared to Sindy. From her averagely built figure, one thing she did share with Sindy was having the same thigh thickness; rather, it was slightly thicker. When she heard his voice, she got flustered, turning to her name being called and saw him, the guy she had a crush on. The other two heard, glanced at him as he ran off, then glimpsed at each other, confused. They blinked rapidly to realise what they had heard, and were seeing, they quickly chased after Andre with surprised expressions. Upon arriving at her locker, the crowd grew bigger because they were close to the cafeteria entrance.

Andre gave her a big welcoming smile, the very smile she loved seeing.

“Desy, hey, how’s your day been?”

She was red, clutching her textbook against her chest, brushing a strain of her hair behind her ear as she looked into his eyes of wonder.

“Andre, my-my day’s been—”

Sindy caught up and seemed disgusted from how her eyes were knitted and the placement of her hands on her hips.

“Oh no, her?! Out of all girls you say hi to, it’s her?!”

Sindy stood next to Andre, grabbing his arm again.

“Why do you still talk to her? She's so awkward, weird, and not that pretty.”

Desy hung her head, a cloud came over it, and she hid her face from them. Feeling those words be so painfully truthful coming from the most popular girl in their grade brought out a grimace. Andre saw his true best friend cover her face in a shadow of black, feeling ashamed, and he didn’t take those insults being shot at her lightly, actually it angered him.

Turning to Sindy, looking into her hazel eyes, he glared deep into her soul.

“Don’t you ever insult her when you're around me! I dare you to say that again, and watch what happens.”

Knowing him all too well, Sindy lets go of him and backs away.

“Okay… sheesh, relax, will ya?”

John makes a whistle, “Damn, that was brutal, bwhaha!”

Andre turned back to Desy, and walked up to her.

“Desy, don’t pay her any attention. You’re fine just the way you are. Come on, look at me.”

The words of the most popular girl echoed in her mind, clouding it with hard truths, and blocking the world around her in a dizzy state of white.

Ew, awkward, not pretty, weird, I’m all of them… Desy thought.

Those words smothered her ear drums, blocking Andre’s words as her eyes started to glisten below the shadows of her bangs.

“Desy, hello? You okay, look at me.”

Andre grabbed her arm, and immediately she rejected his touch, slapping away his hand. Sindy didn’t like that, and started approaching Desy.

“You! How dare you hit Andre you below average—”

“Shut up…” Desy said, clenching a fist.

Sindy tilts her head, placing her hands on her hips. “Hah? Me, shut up?! Oh I’m going to—!”

Andre put his hand out without looking at Sindy, shutting her up.

“That’s enough out of you Sindy, go away now.” Andre said as he grabbed Desy’s arm again.

Finally, Desy snapped out of her blind state of shamed anger, and looked around in a confused manner.

“Huh? Wha-Wha! What happened?” she murmured.

She then noticed Andre grabbing her arm, turning red again.

“Huh!”

Andre smiled, and reeled her in for a hug.

“Oh Desy, it’s okay to react the way you did. Don’t mind that bimbo’s words, you’re fine the way you are.”

Desy’s so red that smoke steamed off the top of her head.

“An-An-An...dre!”

She wrapped her arms around him and the two chuckled.

Sindy’s envious, and stomped away angrily but not without saying one last word to Desy.

“You and I aren’t finished, little girl.”

She stomps away, pushing another girl out the way while doing so.

Desy sighs. “Oh man… I’m scared, wait! Oh no, I gotta get to class, sorry Andre, I have to g-go!”

The two let off each other, and she ran, disappearing from around the corner.

Andre chuckles and lets out a huge sigh of relief.

“Man that girl, she’s so intriguing isn’t she? That’s why she’s the only one I can be friends with in terms of the opposite gender.”

John walked next to his buddy, wrapping his arm around his shoulders.

“Yo bro, I don’t know why but you are a weird man! Mostly cause, I just don’t see why you like that girl so much, what? You gonna fuck her?”

“Dude, is that all that’s in your delinquent mind?”

“No, I’m just saying man, she’s just not that attractive, she’s like a 4 or 5 yet you give off the vibe like you’re trying to be nice to her to maybe—fuck her.”

Andre groans. “Bro, you really need help, I’ve known her since childhood along with Sindy, well not as much as Sindy. You and I though, we’ve known each other for only five years so relax. You don’t know what you’re talking about, besides there's a reason why we have such a strong bond.”

John squinted, gripping his chin, crossing his arms, leaning back on the lockers beside him, and snapped his fingers pointing to his friend by winking.

“Sex?” he said.

Andre’s jaw mildly open because of how John dragged on his answer.

“No you stupid dope….”

John crossed his arms again, tilting side to side.

“Look man I’m not hating, it’s just like I said she’s like a 5, but granted she got thighs bro and I wouldn’t mind putting my face between those thick thighs… Damn! Sit on my damn face! But put a bag on her face ha!”

“Hey…”

Andre crept close to his buddy's face in anger, making him step away from how intense his gaze was.

“Be careful what you say about her, perv. She's my best friend.”

John raised his hands, waving them. “Aight relax homie, I didn’t know she was your girl haha! Wait, I thought I was your best friend?!”

As Andre let out a long breath, the two finally ended their conversation to get to class. Saying bye to each other, the two went their separate ways, and off to class they went to continue their day. Arriving at her class in time, Desy’s out of breath; she managed to get to her next class before the bell rang. She walked into math class with a smile on her face. Sitting at her desk, placing down her bag to bring out her textbook, she couldn't stop thinking about the hug she was given by the boy she liked.

Andre… you idiot, you’re the best, I love you! She thought.

Smiling grandly, Desy opens her book. The rest of class settles down, and the teacher walks in before the bell rings. After ringing, class started but someone came in late again as usual, and that being a girl named Suzan. She’s a black girl with a huge puff of curls on her head, glamorous eyes of hazel caramel, and a figure rivaling Sindy’s but without the giant chest. Letting out a big sigh, Suzan made her way to her desk while the teacher didn’t acknowledge her existence because she’s used to her tardies at this point so she gave up even trying to scold her about it.

Walking to her desk as class started, its location was next to Desy’s desk.

“Damn, late as usual, but whatever, hey Desy, mind giving me a roundup?” Suzan said as she sat down, throwing her bookbag down next to her.

Desy looked to her right to Suzan with a pencil in hand already writing down notes. They’re actually good friends so she still had her smile once she was ready to reply to Suzan.

“Okay, give me a minute to write some notes for you Suzy.” Desy said.

As she wrote, Suzan noticed how unusually happy the girl was, too much for her usual self which brought some curiosity to her. Gripping her chin, tilting her head, she crept close to Desy’s desk, making Desy wonder why her friend was creeping closer and closer. She got so deep into her intrigued state that her creeping made their noses touch.

“Uhh… Suzan, you’re too close…” Desy muttered as Suzan’s nose began pushing Desy’s, making her blush.

The teacher turned to face the class and noticed Suzan being creepy by being too close to Desy’s face. He pointed his marker in their direction.

“Ms. Suzan, what do you think you’re doing harassing Desy, huh?”

Suzan rubbed her jaw then tapped Desy’s forehead.

“Ooo girl, you’re warm too, why are you so happy today, hmm?”

“Ms. Suzan!” he shouted, which made the students turn in their direction.

“Alright alright, I'll back off… for now.” Suzan muttered as she laid back on her chair and smacked her lips, leaning an arm on it.

Desy mildly chuckled and went back to paying attention for today's lesson. But before doing that she had to write Suzan's notes down first.

“Don’t worry about it Desy, you're a good girl, I’ll just lay back and pay attention, for once because I’m so damn curious about you being so damn happy hehe!”

Desy blushed, and wiped off the smile, replacing it with a worried frown.

“Ehhh… oh no, please don’t do anything to me Suzy…”

Suzan chuckled, winking at Desy and the two girls panned their attention to today’s lesson after finishing their conversation. Feeling mathematics complex wording, it’s diverse equations equaling to letters that boggled Suzan’s street knowledge/talk made her brain grind its gears and fry. Once today’s lesson finished she laid on the desk, mouth blowing out steam, her eyes white and dead; she’s mortified of her current brain development. Desy packed her belongings, class was about to end in just a minute, she saw her close friend lying dead on her desk.

Getting up, putting on her bookbag, Desy poked her friend's head.

“Suzy, you okay? Cause you seem dead.”

Suzan stayed in her position and replied with moans.

“Suzy! Get up. If you’ll stay like that then I'll have to retaliate you know!”

Suzan heard that adorable voice loud and clear, which made her sit right up, out of her chair and get in Desy’s face, startling her.

“Ho…? And how will you retaliate, girl? Knowing you, you might only poke my head, you cute thang.”

Desy sweats, raises her hands to her chest and adorably taps both of her index fingers against each other.

“Ehehehe… yeah perhaps…”

Suzan laughed and wrapped her arm around Desy’s shoulders. “Oh I’m joking you cute thang, now tell me why you’re so happy today, huh?”

Desy’s face turned to worry, making her blush again.

“Uh oh!”

Suzan edges into her face.

“Come on, tell me, cause you were steaming hot back then girl… so if I’m correct, the way you were smiling hugely, being warm… wait!”

Desy didn’t like this. She always thought Suzan wasn’t that intelligent, but the fact that she’s puzzling together something like this, something Desy’s still learning secretly made her feel afraid of her. The poor girl tried pushing Suzan off to get away so she doesn’t have to hear her answer that might make her die of embarrassment.

The bell rings and it’s time to leave. The students got up, walked out quickly, but the two girls were locked onto each other because of Suzan’s eagerness. Desy used her little strength to push Suzan, but it’s not working. Suzan giggled, not allowing her to move even an inch off her grip, instead she tightened her hold, and Desy’s just too small to overpower her bigger stronger friend.

Desy kept trying and trying, but then Suzan crept to her ear to say, “Desy… are you in love, girl?”

Desy stayed still, her eyes not blinking, she’s gasping, the girl’s turning super bright red.

“Eeek! Ehh… n-n-n-n-n… No!”

Her face turned so red she became the personification of the very colour.

Suzan finally lets go and laughs, grabbing her bag in the process.

“Oh my god! My little Desy is in love, you go girl! And who is it, huh?”

Desy panicked. She flailed her arms around, her eyes wide, mouth creating waves and sounds of shock, she’s so embarrassed that she got her bag and immediately ran away from Suzan out of the classroom. Suzan’s mouth, despite being oval shaped, transitioned to a smug grin. Her eyes twinkled and she went chasing after her little friend. Desy ran through the crowded halls making sounds of peaked embarrassment while Suzan’s catching up fast, The poor girl’s so embarrassed that she’s not paying attention to who she’s bumping into and her body’s dodging things instinctively.

Vastly approaching Desy’s bookbag, Suzan’s in arms reach to torment her friend.

“You ain't getting away from me that easily, my cute friend!”

“No no no! Stop Suzy, no more!”

Desy continued running until she made contact face first to an opening locker, plunging onto the ground on her back.

If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

Students walking or standing around all made sounds of pain saying, “Ooo!” or “Damn!” when they heard the impact or saw it first hand. Some even made fun of her, reenacting the scene themselves until they saw Suzan coming to her aid. She’s very popular too and notorious for fighting anyone regardless of their gender. So the majority of folks nearby continued either onward or went back to conversing with their classmates/friends.

Suzan got to her knees, reacted in sympathizing pain, cringing.

“Oh gawd damn! Desy, you okay girl?”

She massaged her friend's forehead first to bring down the pain.

Slamming their locker shut, and quickly going down to her aid was a random male student.

“Oh my god I’m so sorry!” He said.

Suzan turned to the boy who’s trying to help her, but the position Desy’s laying flat gave him a good view for someone going through the stages of puberty. At first he was about to help out but she noticed his boyish instincts kicking in because he’s taking a peek at her panties from how her skirts slightly curled. His cheeks turned red, but he felt Suzan’s gaze and when his eyes locked onto her, he felt her silent anger.

He waves his hands in guilt. “I-I-I… I was just—never mind I’ll just leave instead! Sorry again!”

He got up, ran away and Suzan smacked her lips. She picks Desy up and flails her hand at her face to give her cool air.

“My bad girl for making you eat metal, hehe. Now, wake up so you can tell me who you are in love with.”

Desy heard her and it’s enough to return her consciousness and make her eyelids burst open, turning red again.

“D-Do I have to?” she said as she rubbed her forehead.

“Of course girl or else I'll tickle you to death, muhaha!”

Desy sighs and gives in.

“Okay, just help me up, my head still hurts.”

Suzan did and helped Desy on her feet. Before she could reveal her crush, she needed another moment to catch herself. The throbbing pain on her forehead, her complex feelings all combing were really hindering her thoughts. She pressed her back against the close by lockers and released a deep sigh. Her buddy thought perhaps giving her a relieving massage on that pulsing spot would help clear her mind. Instead it only made it worse because Desy’s nerves were really trying their best to tell her to run away again from how embarrassed she’ll feel telling her the truth. Yet despite every ounce of contradicting emotions, Desy knew if she would tell anyone her secret crush it would be Suzan.

Gently grabbing her friend's hand and lowering it off away from her face, she’s ready.

“Suzan… I’m-I’m in love with… Andre…”

Suzan placed a hand on her hip, smiling.

“Of course you do, I just wanted to hear it from you, that's all. Sorry for teasing you girl, tehe!”

She raised a peace sign, showing her pearly white teeth to her friend.

Desy rolled her eyes and began walking away.

“Bye Suzan…”

“Woah, wait up! I said my bad, sheesh!”

Desy stopped and brought out a mild smug grin.

“Hehe, I’m just joking.”

“Oh you little! And that’s why I love ya girl, you’re so adorable!”

Suzan wrapped her arm around Desy and the two continued onward.

Where they were heading to now was the cafeteria, and with two periods left to the day, the two were eager to eat their lunch and continue the conversation. Going in through the main entrance of the cafeteria, the two girls are welcomed by a wave of laughter, bullying, cackling, loudness from the early youth that defined their low budget school. Both girls continued conversing as they approached the tray area to get their plates. Suzan, before grabbing her plate felt her phone vibrate, she took it out and saw a notification.

“Hold up Desy, this is important hehe.” She opened the message and rolled her eyes in reply to it. “Never mind, it’s just a bum, I’ll be back in like two minutes, okay?”

Desy nods and Suzan waves bye for a moment, walking away out the cafeteria.

As Desy sighs, laying her tray up to the lunch lady for her to get lunch, once she has food, turning right swiftly, mistakenly she bumps into the student next to her. Her food tray smears on the person's clothes, to then fall to the floor spreading food all over, even on their shoes.

Desy panics and retracts her hands towards herself in embarrassment.

“Uh… Oh…”

The person she bumped into was a girl, another popular one at that and known to bully other girls; almost to the point they’d try self deleting from how brutal her insults are. She may be thin, but she had an hourglass figure, blonde hair, and bright blue eyes to match her preppy clothes. She’s wearing a black buttoned top and now it has a smear stain of mashed potatoes on it.

Her jaw dropped, hands raised dramatically, she groaned in anger.

“You stupid little bitch! Do you know how expensive this shirt is? Like oh my god, I should just kill you right now!”

The girl stomped and grabbed some napkins nearby to clean up her shirt.

Desy’s eyes quivered and her upper lip trembled.

“I-I-I… I’m so—”

“Shut up bitch, ugly ass little gremlin, can anyone like please tell her to go away so I can have some air?”

The girl jolted her head to the right as she continued wiping her shirt.

Desy hung her head in shame and reached down to pick up her tray she accidentally dropped. But in doing so gave the blonde girl an idea, an opportunity actually. Watching Desy slowly grab her tray, the blonde girl lifted one of her legs above Desy’s head, curb stomping Desy’s face to the ground, knocking her unconscious. Her head bounced badly from how much effort the girl put into her stomp. Blood was drawn, Desy’s nose leaked and red flowed out. Students around them gasped, but some laughed though others retaliated against the ones who thought this situation was funny by scolding them. The blonde girl flung her hair, crossed her arms, spat at her body to then walk away from the scene without looking back. But one girl came back into the cafeteria in the nick of time, spotting the aftermath. Seeing her good friend bleeding on the ground, unconscious, Suzan stomped her way into the scene with clenched fists.

Grinding her teeth in utter anger, taking in a huge breath of air, Suzan shouted to the students.

“Who’s the one responsible for hurting my adorable friend?!”

Some of the students whistled, looked away. Others helped out, pointing to the blonde girl who’s still walking away.

With no time to waste, Suzan ran to the girl and brought out one of her hands. In arms reach now, she grabbed her hair and pulled her down to her butt. The blonde girl screams, Suzan throws strong hammered fists to her face as she tug on the girls precious silky blonde hair. The crowd ran to the action, taking out their phones and recording the fight ensuing, completely ignoring poor Desy still on the ground. Luckily another girl with bangs covering an eye exposing it’s teal chill nature happened to be an emo girl who wore a plaid shirt, a band t-shirt beneath it, black shorts, fishnet leggings, and chain accessories from her belt to wrists. She rushed to Desy’s aid and got down on her knees.

Lifting Desy’s face off the ground, she grabbed some fallen napkins to turn Desy’s head to wipe her stained face.

“There there, I got you, new friend. You’re a victim of modern society just like me, so I’ll do my best to not only aid you but to be your new friend.”

As she cleaned Desy up, coming into the cafeteria were two boys that happened to be Andre and John. The amount of noise they were introduced to was obnoxious to Andre, making his eyes twitch, but to John it felt like home from his troubled background back home.

John basked in this noise, wafting it into his left ear.

“Yo, we got a fight going on it seems with all this ruckus.”

John shifted his head to a crowd, and pointed.

“Yo! Look Andre!”

John’s pointed finger wiggled with excitement as it locked to the cheering and screaming crowd that threw hands in the air, raising fists too.

Andre shakes his head. “Whatever, let's just go get our lunch, I’m starving.”

“Screw that, I'm going to the action first man! Let's go!”

John punched his best friend's shoulder running away towards the rowdy crowd.

As Andre shrugged, walking more into the cafeteria, he saw a girl helping another one out on the floor, and he knew exactly who the other was when he took a glance. Immediately the boy ran to the two, spotting the small pool of blood on the floor next to them as the conscious girl finished wiping the other's face.

Arriving to them, dropping to a knee, Andre reached for his beloved best friend.

“Desy! What-What happened to her?!”

The emo girl stopped Andre from touching her, putting a hand out, feeling suspicious of him.

“Who are you? And what are you to this poor victim of modern society?”

Andre groans. “Listen you attention seeker, she’s my best friend, tell me what happened to her?”

The emo girl twitched an eye.

“Attention seeker…?” she mumbled.

“Huh? What was that? Look, will you just leave us be, if you’re not willing to tell me anything.”

She sighed. “Whatever, what happened was she got curb stomped by Miss Blondie over there…”

She shot her thumb to the crowd behind her and Andre looked briefly.

“As you can probably hear by her helpless screams of agony, she’s getting absolutely destroyed by Suzan amongst the crowd.”

“Suzan huh? Not surprised if that’s the case, ahem…”

Andre took a deep breath, hovered his hands around his mouth, and blinked.

“Suzan! Beat her fucking ass!”

Suzan, who had the girl beaten to a bloody pulp, had the girl held by her collar when she heard that familiar loud voice easily recognized even by the loudness of the crowd.

Letting out some laughter, she hit the girl again, “You got it Andre!”

The girl tried clawing her way off of her grip, but Suzan’s strength was unfitting for a girl.

“You-You damned bitch! Ghetto disgusting black—!”

“Oh hell no! Don’t even go there girl, cause if you are I’ll go there too! Worse for you you stupid white bitch!”

Suzan threw the girl on the ground, putting a foot on her chest, pinning her.

“What now? Watcha gonna do now, huh?! Dumbass bitch!”

As Suzan raised her foot to stomp on her, someone grabbed her arm, and immediately she reacted by looking at whoever grabbed it.

Unfortunately it wasn’t someone who she can casually attack back. It was one of the most loved, respected, toughest coaches in the school, and one she respected as well. He’s a very tall Caucasian, fit young coach, and he looked disappointed. Beside him was his assistant, a Hispanic female, one that every young boy drooled over because of her slim figure, long brown hair, and her eyes of caramel.

“Alright, all of you go, get back to whatever you were doing. As for you, Suzan.”

He started dragging her away from the crowd.

“You and I are going to have a long talk.”

His assistance strangely had him stopped. She had grabbed his arm, and the kids around them started walking away.

“Randy, where are you going to take her? You got another gym class in two minutes to teach.”

He raised a brow. “Oh, I’m taking her to the boss man to talk to her mother, and don’t worry about it, you got this, Melina.”

“Wh-Wha...t but the girl, I got to take her to the nurse Randy!”

Randy pats her head. “Then they can wait, see ya in a bit.”

Melina pouts her face. “Whatever, just go already you weirdo and stop patting me like I’m some child!”

She slaps his hand off and pushes him away.

Suzan watched the two act kindly to each other. She could’ve used this opportunity to run away, but chose not to. She respected Mr. Randy: In her eyes he’s the only adult in the school who she’d listen to and is willing to learn her mistakes from when he scolds her.

Suzan laughs and sighs. “Sorry for all the ruckus as usual Mr. Randy, but she deserved it hehe, trust me!”

Mr. Randy rolled his eyes, and the two left the cafeteria. The crowd fully dispersed. Mr. Randy’s assistant Melina grabbed the blonde girl, carrying her to the nurses office to treat her wounds as the rest of the children went back to what they were doing. Andre watched as his good buddy Suzan was being dragged away by his coach with a huge smile on her face. Soon after, following behind his trail was his assistant Melina, looking to have the girl that curb stomped Desy’s head on the ground being carried in her arms. Andre decided to carry Desy to the nurse's office as well, but another teacher walked in to get her instead from another student's telling.

“I got her, you kids just enjoy your lunch okay.”

Before he could grab her, Andre stopped him for a moment by putting his hand out.

“What is it, young man?”

Andre bit his lip and his eyes rattled. “Mister, please be careful with her, she’s very fragile, and—”

The teacher smiled. “If she’s your little girlfriend then I’ll be sure to be extra careful, ain't she lucky to already have a caring boyfriend like you at this age?''

He tugged his arms underneath her and picked her up, winking to Andre and leaving with Desy. Andre lets out a deep sigh and stands up, about to leave until the emo girl stops him, grabbing his wrist.

“What? Is it a thank you? My bad, thank you for helping my friend Desy.”

Her face didn’t change, it stayed unfazed and emotionless.

So Desy’s her name? Strangely unique, but cute. She thought.

“Who are you to her again? Are you really her boyfriend?” she asked.

Andre knits his brows. “Could you stop being like this, it’s annoying seeing someone pretend what they aren’t.”

Her eyes exploded, widening out.

“H-Hu-Huh… wh-what do you—?”

“You’re not really emo, you’re just some dumb girl trying to fit in some crowd because of her fashion sense. So please, spare me, it’s so obvious. What do they call you guys again, uhh, posers that's right, see ya.”

Her eyes stayed wide, her mouth slightly open, she trickled an “Eh~” and seemed broken when she heard his statement. Andre tugged his hand away from her grip, and walked off. John soon came back to him, acting out what he saw in that fight between the two girls.

After the girl comprehended everything Andre just told her, she ground her teeth, clenched her fists, turned red, and stomped away.

“Asshole, douchebag, cock sucking dickwad!”

The girl stomped her way out the cafeteria, into the hallway with raised shoulders, feeling livid about what Andre had just told her.

Me? An attention seeker, poser…! no-not emo! How dare he, how dare he! He’ll rue the day for insulting me like the rest of society does to us! He’ll Rueeeeeeeeee!!!

***

Flashing lights, laughter echoing in an empty gleaming brightened hallway, at the very end of the hall inside of the school nursery was Desy, resting on the nurse's bed. The laughter that reaped, brushed against her eardrums made the girl awake from her slumber. Sitting up, letting out a huge gasp, Desy’s breathing was erratic, her muscles tensed up. She clutched her head from those laughter's that kept pushing through her eardrums, wanting to breakthrough to go inside her mind to make her hear them clearly. She covered her ears to muffle the torment, and yet it felt as if it was getting louder.

Getting up out of the bed, Desy ran to the door, opening it to meet the emptiness of the hall. The windows gleamed bright white from the outside, the ground flickered the shadows of unseen children with open mouth smiles, hollowed eyes, pointing their fingers at her as she stood at the doorway. Sweat coming down from the pores of her head, her eyes quivering; Desy ran down the hall, covering her face with a forearm from the shadows that laughed, pointing their wicked black fingers at her. The deeper she ran down the hall, the louder the laughter got, more notably their voices became more distinct, familiar to her past nightmares.

Stopping in the middle of the endless hallway, Desy dropped to her knees, slamming her fist on the ground.

“Stop, please stop laughing at me! I-I didn’t mean to embarrass her like that!”

One of the shadows slithered their way out from one of the lockers close by. It stayed in front of Desy, raising both arms off the ground, hovering a shadow over her shaking body. Claws extended out of the tips of its hands, erupting distortion laughter as it crept its mandible claws closer to Desy. It stopped once it was a few inches away.

The laughter around them came to a halt, and the shadow then spoke to Desy in a familiar voice heard before she met the pavement of the cafeteria ground.

“You ruined my shirt, pay with your life, your dignity, everything you below average girl!”

Desy’s eyes glistened, and her body jittered.

“I-I-I didn’t mean to… I’m sorry!”

The shadow dropped an arm back to where it belonged as a shadow, but used it’s other arm to slam a mighty slap upon Desy’s back, dropping her flat to the ground.

“Pay with your everything, you’re nothing—girl! A very ugly average girl like you deserves nothing in life!”

Desy kept whimpering as she lay flat, her mouth became an opening waterfall of black. The shadows around them came out from the corners of doors, lockers, the ceiling, they swept towards Desy’s laid out body. They surrounded her, the laughter returned tenfold, distorting around her as it rang her ears to rupture her ear drums. Ringing ensued, the world around her spun, the shadows rose from the ground, all grew arms, then each one laid slaps across her body. From her legs, arms, butt, back, neck, head, each slap that they landed on her left printed marks of the colour wheel throughout her body as they kept slapping her senselessly, inflicting burning pain across her body.

Another familiar voice screamed, letting the other shadows know who they were. A huge shadow being the colour pink came about, towering the rest; it had pigtails to go along with its different look. As the shadows bowed to it, the mighty pink entity grew arms, and hands, pointing a giant stubby finger at Desy. The lower part of where a jaw would be located stretched out, splitting the area open in a slimy stretchy way. Liquid spewed out, and it spoke in the tone that haunts Desy’s dreams every night, that being the voice of Sindy.

“Just rot away and leave us alone, no one wants you, especially Andre, you ugly wench!”

All the shadows laughed again. Desy’s ears rang louder, and louder, her mouth became a waterfall of black, pouring around her to stain the ground. The pink shadow flung a finger at the top of her head, springing it up off the ground, and it caught her head from falling by laying the tip of its finger on her forehead. Desy’s eyes were lifeless, the black waterfall kept pouring out, and the shadow crept closer as the laughter ripped away the colours of reality off of everything like paper.

Creeping close to her drooling face, the shadow said, “Kill yourself, so Andre and I could be together, forever!”

It finished its statement off with a relentless giggle filled with the torment Desy hears in her everyday life.

The shadow’s around flew up, hovering over Desy’s body to then drop onto her like black raindrops. The pink shadow lifted her up off the ground with both hands, and squeezed whatever life she had in her. Her body began inflating, and eventually she popped, exploding the colour wheel throughout the area. The pink shadow laughed, grinding its wretched hands to smear the last remnants of the girl she just popped into a rainbow. Smacking its hands, making squishy loud splashes every time it did, brought out more joy to the shadow as it widened its gap between its head.

Laughing away, the pink shadow then said, “Andre, is now mine!”

Hearing that awakened Desy from her real slumber in reality. She’s gasping, but quickly calms herself and lays there, dozing off into space. She didn’t panic, scream nor react in any kind of way, instead she just casually lay with her eyes wide open. Her breathing slow, blinking slowly, she sat up, grabbed her head to glance at her surroundings. Figuring that she’s in the nurse's office trickled a sigh out of her though the pain on her head was severe, migraine inducing at that. Massaging her head, the nurse just came in at the right time, spotting her awake and well.

She’s middle aged, wearing a normal buttoned shirt with jeans, having black hair, a flat chest but wide hips and a ponytail, she wasn’t ugly, just cute.

“Woah woah there Desy, slow down there champ.” the nurse said as she walked to her patient with a bandage on her forehead and nose.

Letting out a moan, Desy looked to the nurse who pulled a chair and took a seat next to her.

“Ms. Glenda… wh-wh...what happened?” Desy muttered.

Ms. Glenda patted Desy’s head, pinching her swollen cheek.

“My dear Decy, you were from what my sources told me, curb stomped to the ground pretty badly, all because of some accident.”

Desy sighed as her cheek was pinched one last time.

“Oh yeah… that happened, what’s the damage?” Desy replied in a chill tone.

Ms. Glenda didn’t like how casual Desy took her injuries from the ruthless bullies that have targeted her all three years of her middle school life.

Puffing her cheeks out, crossing her arms, Ms. Glenda hugged her favorite patient.

“Stop saying those things so lightly you idiot. You’re so precious and innocent, whenever I hear you speak this way of these injuries just makes me wanna hug you to death, hmph!”

Desy smiled and returned the favour of Ms. Glenda’s hug by hugging back.

“It’s okay, I’m… used to this treatment by the girls, it’s all a part of growing up, right?”

Ms. Glenda backed off, stood up out of the chair and placed her hands on her wide hips.

“It is but not to this extent my dear, just be careful okay? I don’t want to come in one day and find you almost on death's bed… or worse!”

Desy got out of the bed, and approached Ms. Glenda.

“I’ll be fine, so long as I have a hero to be there for me, then you have nothing to worry about.”

She hugged Ms. Glenda one last time.

Ms. Glenda shakes her head and rubs Desy’s head.

“Alright, just let me give you a new bandage on your forehead and nose at least.”

Desy nods as the two pull off each other. Ms. Glenda walked to the counter to get some new bandages for her patient so she could go home now that the school day was coming to an end. Once being newly bandaged over her wounds, she’s ready to go. Ms. Glenda had already gotten Desy’s bag earlier in the day and went to go get it from behind her desk.

Desy watched as she did, bringing a smile out of her.

Ms. Glenda is so awesome, I’m glad she’s not just my nurse but a close friend. Desy thought.

She waits but decides to walk to the window to look out for a moment.

Staring outside from the second floor of the school building, Desy watched as all the students were beginning to leave for the day. Children from all ages rushed, walked, waited for their buses to arrive or got into the ones already in the lanes. Smiling, Desy saw one student that caught her eyes, that being the guy she has a crush on.

“Andre…” Desy murmured.

She lay her arms on the frame of the opened window, staring at her prince charming getting on his bus.

Ms. Glenda watched Desy stare off, reminding her just how innocent and precious she is.

I have to protect her at all costs, she’s just too pure for this cruel world. She thought.

Walking over to Desy, Ms. Glenda handed Desy her bookbag.

“See ya tomorrow Desy, please be careful and don’t always succumb to these girls' voraciousness. It’s not so bad to stand up to yourself every now or then.”

Desy turned around and grabbed her bag, putting it on.

“Thanks Ms. Glenda you’re the best. And don’t worry about it, it’ll just take time. The day will come when I have the courage to stand up for myself.”

Ms. Glenda sighed as she patted Desy’s shoulder.

“Go now, otherwise you’ll be late for your bus.”

Desy nods, bringing out a wide smile.

“Okay, bye Ms. Glenda, see ya whenever, hehe!”

Desy walked to the door, opened it and before leaving she waved to Ms. Glenda. She waved back and Decy’s off, rushing to her bus that’ll be there soon. With a hand on her hip, Ms. Glenda can’t help but feel sorry for the poor girl. The amount of emotional, physical trauma the little girl’s endured these past three years have really hindered Ms. Glenda’s mind. There wasn’t a single day she thought about her safety. Letting out a deep sigh, she walked to the same window her precious patient looked out of to gaze at the sea of children leaving their school day.

Resting her arms on the frame, Ms. Glenda sighed again.

“Oh Desy, I only wish your mother was more helpful to you than I am. Too bad she’s still keen on finding a new father for you rather than helping you with your troubles with these little devils.”

Blinking softly, she gazed at the sky, bringing out a single tear.

“Heh, hold back your tears Glenda, now’s not the time to be sad, wait till the day you can release your emotions, haha.”

Running out the front door, Desy saw her bus arrive at the back of the lane. Feeling glad about the day coming to an end, picking her pace up faster, once she ran past the last column of the school entrance, she mysteriously tripped and fell. She felt a burning sensation on her knee, and looking to her knees she saw that she scrapped it and saw the culprit that made her fall. Her eyes grew wide, she gasped, it was none other than Sindy herself standing there like the lingering shadow that always followed her no matter if it’s reality or in her nightmares.

With her arms crossed, a smug grin smeared across her face, behind her was her goon of friends, four of them, all being the pinnacle of beauty and popularity in their school.

Sindy chuckled as she approached Desy.

“Well well, remember when I said I’m not done with you? Well, this is it you little troll!”

Sindy snapped her fingers, and her buddies from behind came out forward.

“Gals, can you kindly get her and drag her to the edge of the school so I can properly speak to her?”

Two started approaching Desy, one with long black hair, skinny yet gorgeous and having an outfit fitting for a hipster, the second girl having dyed pink hair to her shoulders, bangs, and wearing a similar outfit style to that of Sindy. Both girls put their hands out forward, smug-like smiles on their faces, they made grabbing motions as they got closer to poor Desy. She couldn’t give herself the courage to run or flee away, she’s so scared that her eyes began glistening. Their shadows towered over her, similar to the ones of the dream she had earlier, and she screamed.

“No! Leave me alone!” Desy shouted as she attempted to get up to finally flee.

But the two girls thought otherwise. They quickly grabbed her, one got her legs, the other her arms. The other two girls, a chubby one with short hair but having a cuter face than Desy, curvy, and wearing a provocative outfit revealing her tiny rolls, alongside her was the last girl being taller than the rest had long legs, fitting for a model, wore a preppy outfit, had curly hair, even rivalling Sindy in the looks department. Those two went to the other girls and helped lift Desy off the ground to raise her in the air, carrying her away as she struggled to break free from their grips.

Sindy had such a grand smile on her face, she couldn’t help but laugh at Desy being carried away.

“Let's go girls, to the edge of the school towards the exit lane of the buses!”

She points and starts marching as the four girls carry a screaming helpless girl away.

“Onwards my friends, march march march!”

The four girls laughed, teased, and mocked Desy as they carried the helpless girl to her potential demise. As the buses started leaving, students watched as the girls carried Desy and seemed joyful doing it. A lot laughed, some shook their heads, most could careless and minded their own business by not panning their attention to it, but one student was livid watching this act.

That student was Andre who opened his window to shout at them.

“Sindy! What the fuck do you think you’re doing?!”

His eyes were expanding in anger, his teeth gritting, Andre’s so upset that his face turned red.

Sindy heard him, she looked to her left and saw him as his bus slowly drove to the end. She raised a hand, winked at him while hovering her hands near her mouth.

“Nothing my sweet! Just gonna have some fun with the girls, you know?!”

Desy jolted her head in the direction of Andre who’s watching helplessly when she heard his voice.

“Andre! Save me!” she yelled while tears flew everywhere from her face.

Andre got up out of his seat, tried running to the front of the bus, but the bus driver turned the bus, making him fall right on a student's lap.

“Damn it! Stop this bus!” Andre shouted amongst the overwhelming wave of teenage voices.

The bus driver couldn’t hear him over the loudness of the students, drowning out Andre’s voice completely. The student he landed on happened to be the emo girl he encountered earlier. She looked down at his red, angry face, and raised the edge of her lip in disgust from what he said to her earlier in the day: she’s still grudging over that.

Andre got off of her, she moved aside to allow him to sit and he clutched his head afterwards.

“Fuck! Desy, no… no, I’m sorry…”

The emo girl tapped his shoulder, he looked over and didn’t seem keen on talking with anyone.

“I would’ve helped out too if I had the chance, dickwad.” she said.

Andre’s anger simmered, though he felt annoyed now even twitching an eye.

“Dickwad? Why’d you call me that?”

She sighed, “Because you are one, cock sucking asshole.”

Andre blinked erratically for a moment, and his frown disappeared.

“You little attention whore…”

A vein popped beneath her bangs, “Oh, try me you douchebag, otherwise blegh!”

She flipped the bird and stuck her tongue out to him.

Andre crossed his arms and ignored her with an annoyed twitchy expression, sitting back on the seat momentarily then getting up to go back to his original seat. She watched him as he walked back to his seat with a scowl, looking regrettable when it’s not his fault whatsoever. The emo girl shook her head and went back to gazing out the window.

“Sorry, Desy, tomorrow we’ll embark on our new friendship. Don’t you die on me, friend.”

The emo girl watched as the sunset started appearing, turning the sky from blue to a glowy orange from the horizon.

Back at the school grounds, the last of the buses finally leaving, Desy got thrown to the ground badly. A loud thump, the back of her head bouncing off the ground, she rolled mildly, grabbing the back of her head as the pain ensued.

Groaning, moaning, the girl got up slightly with her head hung, staring at the ground between her legs.

“Wha-What are y-you going to do to me… Sindy?”

The four girls with twisted smiles on their faces stepped aside as Sindy walked in front with her hands on her hips.

“Hehehe, well earlier you said I should shut up so maybe I’ll do something about that damn smart mouth of yours! How does that sound, hm?”

Desy clenched her teeth, clutched the grass from the grip of her hands, and started getting up.

“Oh-Oh yeah… what about it, you de-deserved it!”

One of the girls, the chubby one laughed.

“Look at this little squirt?! She thinks she’s bad, bwahaha!”

The tall one clapped her hands.

“Bravo, you did it girl, you’re standing up for yourself now.”

The skinny girl with long black hair shook her head.

“What’s next, you're gonna try swinging at one of us, huh?”

Lastly the girl with pink hair stepped forward.

“You wanna try and fight me instead? I’d make sure to break that small jaw of yours the next time you try being smart at my bestie.”

Sindy gestured to the four girls by pressing the air gently with her hands.

“Guys, relax, let her speak for a moment, I want to see where this goes. Let her say the things she wants to.”

Sindy looked back to Desy who’s on her feet, clenching her fists and the bangs of her brown hair covering her eyes.

“Oh, see! She’s angry, let's see what she has to say, hehe.”

Desy took a deep breath before speaking again.

“You’re not only the monster that haunts my dreams, my reality, but…!”

The lingered shadow of her bangs went away, bringing out her eyes and showing the girls the glint that started growing in them.

“...You’re the vile bitch who tries stealing the guy I like!”

All five girls looked confused, some blinked, looked at one another, then all of them laughed their lungs out except for Sindy. She walked up to Desy who stared her down with her glinted eyes. The girls noticed their leader approaching the average girl, and all of them shut up to see what she’ll do next.

Sticking her hip out with her arms crossed, Sindy got into Desy’s face.

“Me? Steal the guy you like? Since when did I try stealing something that doesn’t belong to nothing, huh?”

Desy snapped out of her angered state, and expressed regret now, showing a frown.

“Th-That, that doesn't—”

“Shut up you dumb girl…” Sindy sighed, “...look I’m literally in your face. You can literally slap, punch me, but choose not to because instinctively you know your place in society. As for the guy you like most likely being my childhood friend, you know nothing of Andre. I’ve known him since I was three years old, so don’t tell me I’m stealing someone who’s not pursuing anything but his academics.”

Desy’s eyes quivered, her knees trembling, arms shaking, she didn't know what to say next. As seconds passed, Sindy grew more impatient and butted heads with her, staring directly into her trembling eyes. Both girls stared into each other's souls, waiting to see who’d make the next move.

Desy could feel Sindy’s hatred towards her flow inside her through her glare.

“Then why… why are you trying to be with him if you know he’s not trying to be with anyone?”

Sindy headbutts Desy on her injured forehead, making her fall on her butt.

“Why? Why! Well, I’ll tell you why, and it all has to do with the future girl!”

Desy rubbed her forehead as red expanded on the new bandage.

“What do you mean by—”

“Comfortability!” Sindy shouted.

She raises a finger, trickling a manic giggle.

“I don’t like Andre nor will I ever, but I see him as a man, a real man in the making, one who will provide for whoever he falls for.”

Sindy hunched forward with her hands on her hips, showing Desy her twisted grin.

“Think about it, if he falls in love with me, not only will he be successful and potentially rich, but if I win his heart then he’ll make my life a living dream! A big house, endless money, my goodness I can’t wait for that amazing lifestyle!” Sindy cackled, which made Desy’s eyes tremble with anger.

Sindy couldn’t help but enjoy her plan by laughing, letting the world know just how prepared she was for the future. She embraces the brightened future of hers by hugging herself with her friends applauding and being in awe. Desy on the other hand no longer felt scared, instead in its place a fire started sparking, igniting a new hatred towards Sindy.

The four girls continued laughing along with Sindy, clapping their hands and cheering her masterplan. Desy hated hearing this, it finally brought back that glint, making her eyes turn dim. Hearing Sindy’s laughter echo inside her mind along with the girls made her vision turn red, introducing a dark thought in which she wished she could do more than just beat up Sindy, but wishing she had the strength to, and potentially, do more harm than that.

Standing back on her feet, the glint in her dimmed eyes growing sharper, Desy clenched her fists in silence as they laughed. Sindy stopped laughing and saw just how angry the girl’s getting, and went up to her face yet again.

She pushes Desy and she falls again.

“What bitch? Do something, you know you want to? Haha!” Sindy said, puffing her chest out and opening her arms out wide.

Desy stood up again, and stood there, silently growing angrier by the minute.

Sindy grew tired of this, and readied her right arm for a punch.

“You ready? Say night night, cause I got to go home now, sleep tight little girl!”

She took a step forward as she shot her fist to give her punch momentum and when her fist got near Desy’s face, it was stopped abruptly by someone.

“Huh?! Who just?!”

Looking to her right, she saw Desy’s good friend Suzan being the one who caught her arm before her knuckles made contact with Desy's nose.

Suzan squeezed Sindy’s wrist, clutching her grasp to show her just how angry she currently is.

“You better leave now bitch before you have to deal with me.”

Sindy glimpsed at Desy then looked back to Suzan, pulling her arm away from her grip.

“Whatever, let's go girls.”

She began walking away and the four other girls followed, not before the chubby one flipped the bird to Suzan.

Suzan also flipped her the bird, grinning.

“I’ma get chu tomorrow fatso, you best watch it!” she shouted as she pointed her finger at the chubby girl.

The girls finally left, leaving both Suzan and Desy alone. With her fists on her hips, Suzan looked to her best little buddy who started whimpering on the ground.

Suzan reached down, grabbed her to lift her up, and hugged Desy to comfort her.

“Oh little Desy, I’m sorry I couldn't have been here earlier, I barely got finished being scolded by Mr. Randy and I’m forced to run a mile for track practice haha!”

Desy continued whimpering and didn’t say another word. Suzan rubbed her head and shushed her bestie to calm her down.

“Come on, I’ll walk you home girl.” Suzan whispered as she pulled away from Desy.

Desy rubbed her eyes and nodded. Suzan grinned, grabbed Desy’s hand to comfort her more for the trip they’re about to take. Both girls looked forward, Desy glimpsed at her only good friend in the school other than Andre and brought out a soft subtle smile. They proceeded to walk, getting off the school grounds to head home. The sun still settling down over the horizon, both girls now walking on the public sidewalk, the orange tint of the sky glazed over their faces as the two conversed in reuniting happiness.

It was a long walk to her home, roughly 20 minutes into their walk, the two decided to eat at a local foodery that was like Sonic’s without the tech. They ate, talked, and once the sky turned from orange to black, transforming it into night, it was time for the two to go home. Suzan paid for their meal, which made Desy more grateful towards her. She had to do this for her bestie, she hated seeing Desy so sad and beat up. Almost an hour later, they arrived at the neighbourhood that both girls lived in; not being the best or worst kind, just liveable from a low income area. They arrived at Desy's home: It’s a small two bedroom home, a little rundown from the neighbourhood they lived in where crime likes to pop around the corners during the weekends, but to these girls it was enough for their parents to provide for their kids with their current financial struggles.

Suzan pats Desy’s back, and starts walking off.

“Alright, see ya tomorrow girl, this time I’ll try my best to not get myself in trouble to protect you, kay?”

Suzan winked and turned around as she walked onto the sidewalk.

Desy finally had a relieving smile on her face, the long walk home with Suzan was definitely what she needed to end her complicated day.

“Okay Suzy, I’ll see ya tomorrow!”

She waved to her friend who’s slowly walking off who replied to Desy’s voice by raising her hand in the air, waving it. Suzan then skipped away, and Desy giggled as she watched her bestie be the silly girl that she is. Letting out a huge sigh of relief, Desy walked to her front door, reached into her pocket, pulled out the key to the house, inserted it in its place and unlocked the door. Opening the door, she walked in, turned the lights on, took her shoes off and took a deep breath.

Glancing around she spots her mother passed out on the couch, snoring away with a magazine laying on her chest. She had short brown hair, same skin as her daughters, was slender and prettier than her daughter too.

Desy giggled seeing her mother passed out on the couch.

“Mom, it looks like you had another long night shift again, huh?”

A smile still on her face, she walked to her sleeping mother to pat her head.

“Silly mom, so silly.”

Desy then walked to her room temporarily to take her bag off, placing it down next to her bed. Once she did, she walked out to walk over to her mothers room to get her blanket. Grabbing the blanket on her bed all rolled up inside of her mothers messy room with clothes scrambled on the floor, bed, and makeup accessories all over too, she walked out to lay it on her.

Going to her mother and laying the blanket over her, Desy rubbed her mother’s messy hair.

“There you go mom, goodnight, see ya tomorrow… hopefully.”

She kissed her mother on the forehead and walked off back to her room to start her homework.

Walking midway in the hall, before she could go into her room, Desy wanted to take a shower first more than anything to wash away the damage she’d taken of the day. Going into her room, grabbing some fresh new clothes inside her dresser, she made her way to the only bathroom they had and went inside. Turning the water on, placing down the fresh new clothes on the countertop and removing her current wear, she waited a bit till the water was warm enough.

Checking the water's temperature with her hand, it was ready.

“Alright, let me just take these bandages off from my face.”

She walked to the mirror, removed the bandage on her forehead to expose a small cut on it from being curb stomped.

“Hopefully it isn’t permanent.”

Removing the last one above her nose, Decy threw them away in the trash bin next to the toilet and hopped in the shower. After having a nice wash, rinsing the day away, she turned the water off and hopped out. Drying herself off and wrapping a towel overhead for her hair, she puts on a spaghetti stringed strapped shirt, shorts, high knee socks, and sighed again with relief. She grabbed her dirty damaged clothes and tossed them in the laundry bin in the corner of the bathroom.

Walking into her room that had a wooden floor, Desy walked to her desk, pulled the rolly chair back and sat on it.

“Okay, bookbag, let's grab that and get this over with.”

She rolled herself to her book bag next to her bed, grabbed it and rolled herself back to the desk to destroy her homework.

Pulling her homework out, stretching and yawning, Desy started doing it while grabbing some headphones nearby to listen to some tunes as well. As she did her homework, the current song she’s listening to brought the essence of conflicted emotions of anger, happiness, but more notably, love. She couldn't help but feel a cloud hover over her head because of the slow building song to the desire of falling for someone and sharing that same idea with that person. At the same time the song expressed hatred towards a rival, one that would take away the one person they desired the most.

In the moment of the song, Desy thought to herself the only rival she saw potentially taking that guy away from her and that being the girl who didn’t even share the same feelings as she does towards him, that being…

“Sindy, you vile girl… evil evil, wretched!”

Desy bit her lip and shut her eyelids.

The words of Sindy came back to echo in her mind, blocking her from continuing her homework and just the thought of her being with Andre made the pencil in her hand tremble. Her arms grew tense, they were shaking from the anger she had towards her and her words kept shouting to haunt her current thoughts, even blocking out the noise of the song. Clenching her jaw, Desy slammed her fists on her desk, and lowered her head, shedding a single tear that landed on her homework.

Sindy, why do you hate me?! And why do I enjoy the thoughts of hurting you more than you have done to me the past years. Just why am I having these dark thoughts and embracing the idea of them!

Pausing in silence, the music still playing, growing intense, Desy can’t help but feel like crying again.

“Andre… you idiot…” she muttered, now laying her head down on the desk, whimpering loudly. “Why did you make me fall for you… I loathe these emotions, I absolutely loathe them!”

Letting out the sorrow in the silence of her room, the moonlight gleaming through her window and shining on her as she cried on her desk, Desy’s emotions became loud and clear. Crying loudly, slamming her hands on her desk as the towel on her head fell off, she let out the full extent of her agony that she endured today. The thoughts of darkness have always made their way into her mind, but never to this extent, and they’ve been growing darker and more gruesome as she grows older. Despite it all, she could never bring herself to do such horrific things because it would be heinous to do so.
