Chp 14

Their hands were tied behind their backs with aged rope and they were led to a big circular building in the middle of two factory buildings. When they entered, it was bare of anything except a chair and a metal pole.

“Looks like one of you is going to have to stand,” Luis sneered.

Zen nodded her head and walked over to the pole. “Tie me up already,” she huffed.

Tortuga took some twine and secured her wrists to the pole. Isaias sat down on the wooden chair and let them tie him up as well. Luis smirked smugly at them. “Now hand over the poison.”

“Sure cousin. Just as soon as you hand over the ledger to Nathan,” Isaias said grinning.

“What is he talking about Luis?” a gangster with neon blue hair spiked at the back and sunglasses spoke.

“N-Nothing Nathan. They just want to create havoc. Isn’t that right, Isaias? I hear the Don of New Arctica is after your sister.” He turned to Zen and sneered. “Although I don’t know why he would be interested in a Low caste girl like her.”

Zen shrugged. “You got me, cousin. I have no idea why he would want me.”

“I do. Give me the Intergalactic crystal!”

Zen laughed. “You think I’m going to give Ishevara to a weenie like you? Get real Luis. I’ve survived through hell to keep her safe. You don’t scare me.”

“Zen! Send the recording to Nathan. His number is 995-768-5556.”

“Sure, Isaias. Sending file upload to Nathan Rivieras. Hope you like it as much as we did Nathan!”

“No! Kill the bitch,” screamed Luis, grabbing a pistol from a nearby Hormiguero and shooting at Zen. The gang watched as the bullets floated lazily in the air still spinning in their trajectory. Zen smiled and let her power drop and the bullets fell to the ground uselessly. No one talked.

“Upload complete. It’s all yours Nathan,” Zen said.

Nathan nodded and opened the files. Everyone stood still and then Nathan started laughing. Zen looked at Isaias confused but Isaias just winked.

Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.

“You thought no one would find out about this Luis? You thought I’d let you get away with using us like this? No, hermano. I checked the ledger a few days ago and now I have proof. Hormigueros, let these two go. The one who should be tied is the only one wearing a suit.”

“I am the boss,” Luis cried as Tortuga set Zen and Isaias free.

“No, you are nothing but an overgrown boy who never learned his lessons. Do you think Daddy will let you lead once he finds out about you double-crossing him? Hmm?” sneered Nathan.

Luis gulped. “You’re too low on the chain of command to tell Father,” he said grinning.

Isaias sighed. “Hey! Pendejo! Did you forget about Zen and me? We have a meeting with your daddy today and I’m sure he’s gonna love our vid.”

“But you gave it to Nathan! How are you going to show him the vid,” laughed Luis.

“We have a traveler friend who can show memories to others and it is part of Zen’s memories since she recorded it. I have them too.”

Luis gasped and shot at Isaias. Zen sighed and raised her arm stopping the bullet mid-track. “Didn’t I show that that little trick doesn’t work around us,” she muttered, turning the bullet around to face Luis, who dodged too slowly and was scrapped in the face by a said bullet.

“No one else is shooting. I guess this was easier than we thought and we have major dirt to show Uncle. Bye cousin,” Isaias said, grinning and waving. Zen blew a kiss while Nathan made a shooing gesture.

“Off with both of you and tell Bernado the Hormigueros are without leadership and I ain’t taking it!”

“You sure? You got the brains for it and the skills all you need is the experience,” Isaias said, clapping Nathan on the back.

“So do you, Isaias, and more. You’ve got our respect,” said a tall mouse looking male wearing a lab coat.

“Dr. Shea? Never thought of hearing those words eek from your mouth,” muttered Isaias as he walked over to the reed-thin male.

“You were my greatest student, you know. You came up with a distinct new poison able to surpass all others. Guerrero's Blood has no equal yet.”

“That was this little bean sprout’s creation?” Nathan looked at Isaias and smirked. “No wonder it’s so diabolical.”

“The Guerrero’s are still poisoned with whatever Luis gave them though,” Zen said walking over to her brother.

“If you can find Luis’s notes on what he did, I might be able to whip up an antitoxin for it,” Isaias said, rubbing his chin.

“We’ll get right on it. Hopefully, this will put the Hormigueros on Bernado’s right side again,” Shea said walking to the hallway in the back of the building where the boss quarters were.

“Hey! No one enters my rooms,” Luis yelled following Shea. Nathan grabbed him by the shoulders and sat him back down on the only chair in the room.

“Tie him up. We’ll get the answers one way or another,” he said, circling Luis like a vulture circling carrion.

Isaias nodded and took Zen’s arm. “We need to leave. Things are about to get ugly for Luis. He’s about to learn why it's not healthy to mess with the Hormigueros gang.”

“I think Luis deserves a little punishment,” Zen muttered as she followed Isaias out the door. A shot rang out and Luis shrill screams with it.
