The second Akira's parents came in, he knew exactly what was about to come and prepared himself for what his mother would do next, as she pushed Shinku to the side and raised her hand to hit Akira.
"How dare you treat your own mother this way, all you do is embarrass me. Do you have any idea how I felt having all the neighbors' look at me as if I'm a bad mother? Do you!?"
As Akira blocked her hits with an oddly emotionless expression, Shinku got back up to stand up to her.
"What the hell is wrong with you, your son is in a hospital bed with injuries and you're trying to hit him? Get the hell off of him."
She stopped for a mere moment and smugly turned to Shinku as he tried to berate her. Akira noticed the blows stopped and raised his head to look at what was going on.
"You got any idea what he's put me through? Clearly you don't, haven't you noticed he hasn't reacted once? He knows what I'm talking about, everything he's done to me."
Shinku sheepishly backed off a little not knowing what situation they're in.
"Exactly so buzz off and mind your own business."
Shinku grew increasingly angry at her attitude and the way she treated Akira
"I may not know your situation but, no matter what it may be, I know the fact that the first thing you did after seeing your son wrapped in bandages is scream and hit him. That is something only an evil mother would do."
As Shinku continuously told her off, her face burned red with anger.
"I am his mother! I own him! And for what I've been through, I don't need a snot nosed brat telling me how to raise my own child."
"Own him? You haven't said his name once since you've gotten here! You're a selfish woman that abuses her child, and maybe you really are a horrible mother!"
Akira's mother reached the point where she raised her hand to Shinku. He stood firmly against her, not fearing what was going to happen, until surprisingly Akira had grabbed his mother's hand.
The woman shockingly looked at Akira, surprised at his actions. She tried to shout at him as she usually did, and expected him to back down as always, but something inside Akira finally snapped.
"No! Shut up for once! All my life, all you did was put me down, and treated me horribly, but what happened 2 years ago was just your own excuse to treat me even worse!
'Akira sniffles.'
Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.
All this time I just took it cause I thought maybe one day you'll love me the same way other mothers do, but now I know that's never going to happen, and because of that I can't let you hurt the only person who is willing to stand up for me when I couldn't stand up for myself!"
Shinku looked at Akira's tear covered face with a smile. Proud that he finally stood up to his mother.
As she looked dead into Akira's eyes she pulled her hand loose from his grip and left the hospital as she gave some final words to Akira.
"When you get back expect your things to be on the streets, Don't you dare come back to my house."
Akira stared at his mother's back as she slowly walked away, sorrowful knowing he lost his family yet relieved to be free from his life long torment. When she finally left, Akira turned to Shinku, smiling with his eyes filled with tears of both pain and joy.
After some time of silence, Akira fell asleep. Shinku looked over at him as he reflected on himself when he first met Ryota. He slowly got up as he tried to get home before Ryota noticed his absence. As turned to leave he was frightened to see Ryota as he towered over him at the room door.
Silently Ryota and Shinku left the hospital. On their way home, Ryota explained the situation to him and told him what the police intended to do.
"After the boy recovers the police intend to do a wellness check at his home, based on his injuries there are signs of neglect so we have to check it out."
Shinku turned to Ryota and through a shaky voice he recounted the scene when Akira's mother came into the room. Ryota with a shocked expression began to contemplate on what to do next.
As the days passed Shinku began to visit Akira after his practice sessions, until the day Akira was finally released from the hospital. The police took him back to his home only for the office to notice a disturbing sight.
"Ma’am! What are you doing? Why are you throwing your son's belongings onto the streets?"
She swung her hair at the officer with rage filled eyes as she yelled
"Son? I don't have a son anymore, I don't care what you do with him but he can't come back here. He has no home with me anymore."
Akira looked at the shocking scene from the backseat of the car with a blank expression unsurprised by his mother's actions yet still filled with anguish.
The officer stopped arguing with the woman and began to retrieve Akira's belongings. As he put everything into the vehicle he called Ryota to explain the situation that had unfolded. Ryota then instructed the officer to take Akira to his current location as he planned ahead for the occasion based on what Shinku told him before.
As Ryota waited for Akira to arrive, he called multiple orphanages to find somewhere for the child to stay. After almost an hour of calls he finally found one willing to take him in and patiently waited to take Akira to them.
At the orphanage one of the workers reported to the head caretaker to inform her of their new addition.
"Head mistress. A police officer is bringing a recently orphaned boy named Akira, the officer's name is Kazuki Ryota."
The second she heard the officer's name the head caretaker froze in her tracks, intrigued to know more about the officer.
"Officer Kazuki huh."
The worker suspiciously looked at her and confirmed the statement as the head caretaker abruptly cut her off.
"As soon as officer Kazuki arrives, call me out. I want to personally meet him, it would be nice after all these years."
As Ryota drove over to the orphanage he felt a sense of uneasiness. A feeling he hasn't felt since he was a child.image [https://i.imgur.com/ZuR8xDL.jpeg]
